What could possibly go wrong?
RIta Angus, Cass, 1936. Oil on canvas on board, 550 mm × 650 mm (22 in × 26 in). This painting of a small train station up in the Canterbury high country at Cass is considered one of New Zealand's greatest paintings. I love this kind of flat, vibrant approach to remote landscapes.
Starting today off with repeat scans for my dad. Today will be a ct scan and a cystoscopy to evaluate his bladder. He’s seemed anxious this morning which isn’t like him; so I’d love your prayers and positive thoughts.
Well, it could have been better but it could be a lot worse. He has what is most likely a cancer nodule on one of his kidneys. It is quite small right now but it does have blood flow to it which is indicative of cancer. Also, the normal male prostate is about 15-20 grams in weight and his is measuring >118 grams. Given his age and other health issues he isn’t a candidate for traditional prostate surgery. So we are hoping his insurance will approve a new procedure called Prostate Arterial Embolisation. They would essentially cut the blood flow to his prostate. So now we wait again …. Praying fervently that insurance will pay for this procedure and that he will be a candidate.
