I wish one piece wasn't so misogynistic. It'd be so much fun if the women weren't constantly sexualized. Everyone is like "watch it! It's good! One of the best animé of all time !!" and then you watch it and it's like. Oh, Nami flashes an old perverted king. Oh, Nami gets sexually assaulted in the shower. Oh, all the women are drawn with huge breasts and tiny waists. Oh, all the women are either sexy or ugly and no in-between. Oh, the women constantly have their looks brought up. Oh, sanji is a pervert and it's meant to be "funny". Oh, the men constantly perv on the women at every single turn. The audience is meant to perv on the women with them. I'm pretty sure the only reason Luffy is asexual is because the author thinks him not caring about women is testament to his strength. A man who is undeterred by the allure of women is at an advantage and stronger than those who aren't. The story is so rich and a masterclass in world-building and shows what can happen when you love and take your time with a story, but I had to stop watching it because it's agony to watch as a woman. The author literally said that after he got married he "got more perverted" and it shows. Looks at Nami from season one and look at her now. She goes from looking like a normal girl to looking like she is on her way to a sexy photoshoot. It's so perverse and nobody seems to give a shit. Nobody brings this up. Nobody thinks to put a "misogyny" disclaimer when recommending it to people. This doesn't seem to put a damper on one piece's reputation and it really goes to show how much people don't give a shit about blatant bigotry, dislike of women, and men who don't see women as people.
