Here’s another commission, this time for the lovely mommamariastark. Janet Van Dyne and Clint Barton!
savageshehulk:
Jenn graciously sat in the seat that was offered to her. She laughed softly to herself- Janet did have that relentless work drive. “Well, I think you would be Janet van Dyne, rain or shine,” she said as the other woman disappeared into the back of the store.
“Ooh, superhero clientele,” Jenn repeated. “Sounds so fancy.” Her eyes widened with recognition when she saw sketches that reminded her of herself. It looked functional, form-fitting, and definitely less exposing.
“Pants? Oh, Jan, you spoil me. You are saving this California girl’s life- I’ve never known real weather before.” Jenn pulled the papers closer to herself, looking at the concept. “You need measurements? I’d be happy to get changed if you want.”
“People heard about me doing costumes for some of my best friends and suddenly a lot of heroes came into the store to ask me to design theirs. The store gets more regular clients because of that.”
Jan knew Jenn was going to love the new design... and the pants! She liked doing costumes for superheroes just for the look in their faces when they saw the designs. It’s a look of awe that gave Janet a lot of pride in what she did.
“Well I’ve still got your measurements from the last time, but if you think we should then we can go to the dressing room. It’s fine with me.”
Jan called her assistant over. “Can you take over the store? Just for a few minutes. I’ll be on the back measuring Ms. Walters.”
itsjubes:
“Yeah, fireworks-proof jackets aren’t really in season. Do you have anything that isn’t, super flammable?”
“Mmm.... well, we’ve been testing this new type of cloth but it’s not 100% safe. I wouldn’t in good conscience give it to anyone yet. Sorry.”

“Or, sometimes the blessing.” [Lorna countered, with a small tilt of her head.]
“It’s really great to meet you, though! I’ve heard so much about you!”
“It’s nice to meet you too.”
“I hope, only good things? There can be a lot of rumors out there that aren’t simply true.”

Jennifer laughed. “Alright, well if it was that boring then I don’t feel so bad.” Still, she knew how important Janet’s work was, and so she didn’t want to take too much of her friend’s time.
“Well, not that I am not totally in love with the design work you’ve done before,” she explained, “Well, I’ve found that being She-Hulk in New York is much different than California.”
Jenn shrugged slightly, “I think the white and purple leotard is much more suited to the sunshine and beaches out West. There’s… actual weather here. I was wondering if you could help with creating something a little more practical for the urban setting.”
“If I didn’t have time for a friend I wouldn’t really be Janet van Dyne, would I?”
Janet asked her assistant to bring her a chair for Jenn.
“I see what you mean. In fact...”
Janet quickly went to the back of the store and got a few papers from her desk. She set a few designs on the counter for Jenn.
“I’ve been developing a new design for my superhero clientele. Something that will work for any type of climate. Knowing how very changing our current wheater is, I decided to work with a fabric that can be cool in the summer and warm in the winter.”
She showed Jenn the design she had made with She-Hulk in mind. It wasn’t quite finished and still kept to the white and purple motif she had but at least it wasn’t almost bathing suit.
“And it has pants!”
pclcris:
“No way! You’re the Wasp, right?”
“The very same! Sometimes people don’t recognize me just by seeing my face.
I guess those are the troubles of wearing helmets that cover all of your face.”
I’m sorry I don’t think I can help you with that.
