what is a good memory you have from autumn?

i’m sure there are so many memories that i just can’t remember at the moment, but one that springs to mind is that last year for my mum’s birthday we went on a ten mile walk in pretty bad weather, but it was really lovely to spend time with my whole family and get out into nature (even if we go absolutely soaked).

This truly is such an autumn day. I went to uni to work on the master’s thesis with a friend (it rained), I went home and started reading Crooked Kingdom (it rained), and had dinner (it still rained). Why we are working on our thesis on a Sunday morning you ask? Well… (1) we are stupid and (2) we want to prepare for getting to school on Monday mornings starting in two weeks. Anyway, we were in out favourite corner of the building (at least for now) and had some cinnamon buns around noon!

3rd October - What is a good memory that you have from autumn?

i have so many good memories from autumn. something that sticks out is from last year. basically because of covid, the sixth form had to take a different route than usual to get to the other side of the school so we wouldn’t mix with the younger year groups. this meant that we had to walk outside. most of the time i really hated it because it added literally 10 minutes to what was usually a 2 minute walk and when it was raining it was horrible. but on nice crisp autumn days, when i was pretty much the only person walking on the path early in the morning, with lots of trees with red, brown and orange leaves all above me, it was incredibly peaceful. this was at a time when my mental health wasn’t great and those early morning walks were just brief moments of peace and contentment that i don’t think i fully appreciated at the time.

This evening I’m home alone, and after making dinner I’m gonna study some SAT vocab words because I realised I tend to repeat myself when I write, and I’d like to improve my vocabulary.
