I've seen so many people say they're not going to boycott. So I'm going to take a different approach here. Please do not scroll past this post. Please read it. Understand it. Many of you are scared when you hear the word boycott. I'm here to help you understand it. Do you have to boycott after reading this? No. That is your choice. But please read this post. I see so many people still interacting with my fics, so I’m hopeful you have the time to read this through and form your own opinion.
Heeseung asked BELIFT LAB to release a solo album while being part of ENHYPEN and the “company concluded that pursuing a full solo career outside the group” was better for him. Not “Heeseung decided”, the “company concluded”. They also stated that “ENHYPEN’s schedule remains extremely demanding throughout the year, making it difficult for members to develop independent musical projects while maintaining full group activities,” or in simple words, ENHYPEN are too overworked to let them have any individual creative freedom and grow outside of the group.
This means that not only did they force out Heeseung, they’re also going to continue exploiting the other members and continue overworking them and will not be giving them a chance to explore solo activities. If any other member wants to pursue solo activities, they must leave the group.
First of all, why is it that Heeseung must leave? As ENGENES have been trending, “individual pursuits should not come at the cost of seven”. This belief is built upon the fact that multiple K-Pop groups allow their members to carry out both solo activities and group activities and do not impose an ultimatum upon them where they must choose either one.
The members have been overworked over years now. A source dated 08/24/2022 about ENHYPEN at KCON states that “fans noticed the members looked exhausted, suggesting it may be a mental or psychological burnout issue rather than just physical fatigue.” It is now March 2026, meaning that they have been overworked for atleast three years and seven months now. This shows that BELIFT LAB has been overworking ENHYPEN for over half their career now.
BELIFT LAB has continuously shown the boys are expendable and all they care is about the money the group gives them. They made Jay perform with a hurt knee for a year without giving him time to let it heal, “filmed a whole music video without Sunoo, made Jake perform immediately after losing a loved one, kept Ni-ki away from his family for years, and now they have manipulated a member into leaving”.
If this isn’t convincing enough, Ni-ki himself stated in a live how demanding their schedules are sometime last year. He stated, “there's that meme right, when someone comes back home from work and lay down for a bit and then gets up immediately? ENHYPEN's schedule is exactly like that these days.”
The best solution we have now.
What is boycott? To boycott means to stop buying or using the goods or services of a certain company or country as a protest. It is important to know that there two types of boycotting: financial boycotting and cultural boycotting. Financial boycotting targets companies into changing their practice by refusing to spend our money on their products. Cultural boycotting aims to isolate an entity by severing ties and refusing to take part in events or supporting collaborations.
ENGENES who are pro-boycott (like I am) are aiming for only a temporary financial boycott.
This means that you can consume ENHYPEN content, keep engaging with their posts, stream their music, support their brand deals, and even attend in-person events, vote for them for awards. This that is part of cultural boycotting. This doesn’t affect ENHYPEN’s credits/value. What we’re asking you to not do is to spend your money on albums, merch (online, at pop-up stores, at concerts .etc), fancalls, concerts, and anything else that involves spending your money for a while until BELIFT LAB fixes things.
A temporary financial boycott does not hurt ENHYPEN, it hurts BELIFT LAB.
Why are we financially boycotting? Simple. We want BELIFT LAB to be accountable for their actions. We want them to change their ways and give ENHYPEN more easier schedules that allow rest and incorporate time to build independent images by allowing them to have Instagram accounts, individual brand deals, and the creativity to explore individual pursuits. We want the company to allow Heeseung to pursue solo activities while staying as a member of ENHYPEN.
Why does a financial boycott work? Corporations like BELIFT LAB prioritize money. This is especially because the agency only manages two groups and financial reports over several years have shown that they are overwhelmingly dependent on ENHYPEN’s income to fund themselves. This is even more important as BELIFT LAB is planning to debut a new boy group. This boy group needs money to be invested in them yet they are not bringing money to the company yet as they have not yet debuted. How will BELIFT LAB get this money? From ENHYPEN and ILLIT.
Protesting will do nothing. Just talking about boycotting has diminished HYBE’s share value more than when protesting did on the first day, imagine how much we could bring it down if we actually boycotted. When share values go down, shareholders will place more pressure on HYBE and in turn BELIFT LAB to fix things.
Anti-boycotters say not to. But what else can we do that hurts BELIFT LAB? They ask us to continue supporting ENHYPEN and bring them higher so that they can negotiate for better contracts next year. ENHYPEN is a cash cow, a group that has low growth potential because they have now reached the peak of their careers. How much higher will we be able to take them. Sure, they can grow a bit more, but not as much as a new group can. HYBE is a company that has phased out groups to introduce new ones. They will most likely not negotiate for better contracts.
And what about ILLIT and the new boy group then? Two groups of idols who won’t have this leverage to negotiate anytime soon? What happens to them? Will they just have to suffer through this mistreatment too until it’s their turns to renew?
No one wants to boycott their favorite group. I most definitely don’t want to either. But not boycotting means that ENHYPEN will just continue to be mistreated under BELIFT LAB.
If you are unwilling to boycott BELIFT LAB for mistreating ENHYPEN, then boycott them for being zionist and supporting zionism.
Please stand with us in this temporary financial boycott. If BELIFT LAB does not care about their idols, we have to. They are human just like us and do not deserve to be treated unlike.
