The breeze surrounding Homura slowed, playfully nipping at her ankles. Her hair, previously whipping in the wind, fell onto her back, only rustling when a gust of wind was particularly strong. Looking down at her feet, she balanced on one foot and swished the dirt around her away. Once there was adequate space for her to sit without dirtying her clothes, she tucked her skirt underneath her, gracefully descending.
The creature perched on her shoulder hopped to the ground, languidly swishing his tail. Releasing a clutch on cubes she didn't realise she had, Homura threw them behind her, knowing that she could be as careless with the action as she wanted. Kyubey would, no doubt, catch them.
A mix of emotion left her in a heavy sigh. Curling her legs to her chest, Homura digs her chin into her kneecaps and wraps her arms around herself. Another sigh escapes, this one shuddering, quiet.
Now that she was closer to the wind swirling around her, she could be at peace. She had never told her there would be faint hints of her on the lands of this new world; there had only been a mention of being beside her and protecting her like always. At first it was beams of light reflecting from mirrors, windows, metal, then a series of events that one would find to be 'lucky'. The rushing air was a new addition, but because it kept her hair out of her face she didn't have to flip it away as much.
Her hand subconsciously reached for a particular lock, the need to remove it from her shoulder suddenly greater than it was a few seconds ago. Fingertips touching ebony tresses yielded back, first in alarm. Upon realising the unnatural warmth could have been from the warm winds dancing on the rooftop, they delved back into her locks.
'Do you think she's out there?'
words clawing desperately in her voice-box.
Swallowing, the noirette opted to stare at the stars again instead.
'There weren't as many wraiths today,'
Fingers knotted themselves in black,
the quiet notice seeming to become louder in the whirl of the attentive winds.
