I understand that we all hate Steve Dayton, and understandably so, he’s just the worst, but I’ve thought about how I’d write him, and lemme tell you, I’d write him to be the most self hating person living in Niles Caulder’s house because of his house, and I’d want his arc to be redemption, not in the eyes of people like Rita, Gar, Cliff, or anyone else in the house, but for himself.

I understand that he’s normally supposed to be the worst, but I honestly want to see a version who isn’t the worst, who loves Rita for her, who seeks to be a good parent to Gar before he joins the Titans, and a version who wants to be better for Rita, and in turn, others like Cliff, Larry, Gar, Jane, and Dorothy.

Idk, just a thought I had, wish we could have a version of Steve Dayton that was a decent person.

Maybe I’m biased bc I’m acearo but I’m sooo sic of romantic relationships overshadowing much more interesting platonic/familial dynamic time and time again

I loveee Gar and it’s egregiously hard finding content of him not centered around Terra/Raven when OMG THE DOOM PATROL IS RIGHT THERE

his relationship with Steve especially i feel has been done despicably dirty for realsies

but also the little brother dynamics he has with Starfire and Robin in 03 and things like that

romance has been harolded as the pinochle of human love forever I’m SICK n TIRED found family world domination

Yeah I'm a Gar fan which means I'm a fan of Gar wrongs. I think he deserves a little "whoops I might have freaked out" moment while covered in blood. I think he should put the beast in Beast Boy more often. Less goofy team clown who's everyone's therapist and more "I'm sick of everyone in this tower's shit. please leave me out of your problems thanks"

My favorite Gar moments in the comics are always the ones where he decides to go full unhinged and try to kill Slade or actually kill Madame Rouge (and then instantly regret it) or freak out at anyone insulting Terra's memory. Boy feels his emotions strongly, and I'm here to see it.
