She wasn’t sure whether she was surprised or not that Risu was keeping up so effortlessly. In the end, Angel supposed, it didn’t much matter either way.

Only a little further down the street; Angel slowed to a brisk trot as she drew closer. Wonderful smells were wafting from Tony’s, across the street; but that was a haunt Angel had yet to work up the courage to visit. A restaurant was a lot harder to steal from than a butcher’s or a baker’s, and she didn’t trust the owner to want to feed a dirty stray like her.

Speaking of baker’s…

She padded to a stop outside Francois Pastries. A rather fancy baker’s, it was; and one Angel had never paid much mind to for herself. But for a non-meat-eater, it was probably the best place in town to snatch something decent.

She glanced at Risu.

“Can you steal something from there for yourself, or do you need me to make a distraction for you?”

Buster would kill her if he knew she was offering to stick her neck out for another animal.

As Angel began to slow down Risu continued to bound after her, all the while taking in the various buildings that lined the street. It was a quaint little area that gave off a somewhat relaxed vibe. Certainly different from the hustle and bustle of a city.

Having been thoroughly distracted, Risu almost didn’t realize that Angel had stopped. Turning around she glanced up at the bakery and let out a short hum in response. “I can get in easy enough, it’s getting back out while carryin’ something that will be tricky. If it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle, a distraction would be nice. It should only take me no more than five minutes to grab something.”

No meat, right.

A small frown crossed Angel’s face for a moment. It wasn’t unexpected that the small animal would be a herbivore, given her somewhat resemblance to a large squirrel, but it did complicate matters some. For Angel, meat was the main priority for her diet - anything else was extra. She didn’t usually go out of her way to find the sort of thing Risu would be after.

That didn’t mean she didn’t know where it could be found.

Francois sounded like just the place.

“I hope you can keep up. I’m not going to slow down just because you’re new here.” Her tail twitched teasingly, but her tone did nothing to let on whether she was serious or not. And with that, the little canine was off.

A dog leading a purple squirrel made an odd sight; fortunately, however, there weren’t many humans about at this time of the day. Those who worked had generally got to their jobs by now, while those who didn’t weren’t out and about yet. It was the perfect time of the day for an animal not to attract too much attention.

She led the way across town, down a couple of narrow side-alleys, until the odd duo came to the town’s main street. 

The little dog darted boldly across the street, heedless of the few cars that screeched their brakes and honked their horns at her, trusting her companion to follow her every step, and continued leading the way with only the briefest backwards glance to check the squirrel was still with her.

Risu gave a scoff before scurrying after the little dog. She had wanted to make a smart remark but felt it was better to get a move on before she lost sight of Angel. Because getting lost so easily was sure to make a good impression.

Keeping up with Angel was an easy enough task. Her small size made it easy for her to make any quick turns when necessary, and allowed her to stay just behind the little dog. As she followed she noticed how it was early enough for there to be a low amount of humans around. And what a relief that was. Having humans around would only slow them down, since one of them was bound to be too curious for their own good.

There was only a brief moment of hesitation as Risu watched Angel dart across the street before she continued to follow after her. Grinning to herself she could honestly say she was having fun. A little daring run through the streets was just the kind of thrill she enjoyed. It didn’t take her long to catch up with Angel, and was once again just right behind her.

Okay, so, I just managed to figure out how to do a reply. It’s not that different from what you would have to do in the last update that Tumblr did, but I’ll still include screenshots of how I managed to do it. Also to freakxnewxdance I hope you don’t mind my using one of our threads to demonstrate this.

Alright, so here goes! What you want to do is pull up the reply the other person made and copy that person’s reply like so:

Then you paste your reply into the text box provided below. For the image, what you have to do is right-click on the image and select “copy image”:

Paste the image into the reply and adjust position as needed according to where the icon was when your partner replied.

Then you go about replying as usual (since I already responded to this thread I just made a random thing tbfh). As a personal preference nowadays, I like separating my partner’s reply from mine with one of those dividing lines on the Tumblr sidebar, like so:

and then go about formatting how you normally would and also delete the reblogs. If you want to add your partner’s URL at the top feel free, though it’s rather tedious and would involve going into HTML to bring things back to normal, and for those who aren’t experienced with html… it’ll be tough. At this point I wouldn’t worry about blockquoting because I have absolutely no idea how it would turn out if I did happen to blockquote, but until Tumblr either fixes this or X-kit finds a way to create an extension to have the option of going back to the old way, this is what I can provide to help you guys with.

//okay, I just queued a reply. Here’s what you need to do to fix things and make it look relatively normal, it just takes a few extra steps-

first, before you even click on the draft, copy what your partner has written. Then go into the draft, and delete all the previous reblogs. Then paste your partners reply into the text box below. Use the block quote feature. If you want to you can add back your partners’ url or some sort of title/header. 

then beneath the block quote, do your reply. It will look pretty normal. The only drawback is that tumblr won’t let you copy/paste photos, so if your partner has used icons, you won’t be able to put them back into the reply. You can still use your own icons, but their’s won’t be there anymore. 

That’s the best way I can see around this new update.

my quick addendum: you can right click and copy the person’s icon’s url, then just hit CTRL+V in the rich text editor and it will automatically insert the icon.
