"The coldest winter I've ever spent was a summer in San Francisco," Mark Twain is credited to have said this but it has not been proven. If he didn't say it I'm saying it now, San Francisco is freezing in the summer time. Look at me at a Giants vs. Nationals game in San Fran in August. I'm wearing a hat, scarf, coat, sweatshirt & wish I had brought my gloves. My fingers nearly froze as I ate my hot dogs and tacos. (Yes tacos its may not be SoCal but it's still California). The temperatures are in the 50s but the wind chill is unbelievable it feels like 19 degrees. So while it may not actually be my coldest winter it by far has been my coldest summer.

This is not what you think. Oh how I wish I were in Rome! This is me in another city enjoying an ice cream cone like a typical tourist. Throwback to the last two summers that I've gotten to spend time in the Vegas off season. I never had interest in visiting sin city until I arrived. It's a magical wonderland for adults. There are castles, towers, canals with musical gondolas, mesmerizing performances & whatever else you may fantasize. There are top chief restaurants like Giada's & Ramsey's. Of course there's gambling and free drinks and the opportunity to walk around with your adult beverage wherever you please. My favorite thing is to wander aimlessly in and out of the many casinos with all the beautiful artwork. There is so much to do and see and new things constantly arriving I can see myself going back many more times. Viva Las Vegas!

A Moning Maniac is a fan of Karen Marie Moning and her Fever series! I'm swiftly becoming a maniac myself after finishing the 3rd installment in her fantasy-thriller where the Fae are the bad guys. Not all fairies have wings and grant wishes some are the creatures nightmares are made of. If you are looking for something new to read I encourage you to start with book one, DarkFever!
