One day, towards the end of your last summer before college, you’ll wake up in the house alone. Breakfast will be left on the table the way it always is, covered and fresh, by your dad who made it for you that morning.

You’ll bring your laptop downstairs and leave it on the counter while you wash the dishes because that’s what your brother always did when he was your age. You’ll watch that movie you heard about a few months ago, and then finish the video game you started a few months ago with your little brother.

You’ll cry to your dad about the things that have been worrying you, and listen to your mom tell you about her day.

Things were hard these past few years, but things always get better, life always moves forward. Maybe you didn’t think you would ever get here, and maybe you didn’t think you would go to that specific school, but you are and you have no idea where you might be in the next few years :)
