vienna as tashi duncan, challengers.
"Yeah, it's like part fiction part documentary, I think? I'm not even totally sure. I've only seem clips on tik tok." He smiled as he thought about the proposal all over again. It had truly been the most perfect day and it felt like he was still riding the high of it all. Marnie hadn't been able to stop talking about it for weeks. "Oh yeah, absolutely. We've got plenty of time but doesn't hurt to start thinking early, you know? I mean haven't you ever written your partners names in a notebook surrounded by hearts," he said and put his hands to his chest and let out a dramatic sigh. "I'm in love, what can I say?" He laughed at himself before looking back at the magazines. "So expect a save the date in your mail eventually. I know it's usually plus 1 but for you we'll make it 2."
"Oh I thought you meant a Hustlers sequel, yeah I've seen clips of that. And it's a musical, kinda seems like... something you'd do?" Vienna raised her brows, smirk spreading across her face. The perfect wedding was never high on her own lists of priorities but she got why it was the priority, for a lot of people, and Brodie deserved that. "I bet you have pretty handwriting," she told him, laughing as she wrote Colette's name in the air. "I think I drew hearts around Mack and Jan's yearbook pictures. In that, totally platonic bestie sort of way, of course. Aw you'd do that for me?," she teased, then stopped giving him a hard time for a second. "I'm happy for you. As are my plus-twos, or they will be after I tell them."
"I saw Hustlers in theaters twice but I've been putting off the new one until I can properly watch it with people. I'm hearing mixed reviews though. Which is pretty on brand. But I mean, Waiting for Tonight goes hard, I have to give her that." Brodie's smile widened instantly. "Yeah I popped the question on Valentine's Day and she said yes. There's not really a huge rush for the wedding but I don't wanna be one of those guys who doesn't take care of anything, you know? Plust a day where all the attention is on me and Colette? As if I'd pass it up."
"There's a new one? Oh yeah, nobody said she doesn't have her bangers. Get Right might be my personal fav." Vienna wasn't totally off social media but she usually couldn't scroll on Instagram for more than five minutes at a time, so if there'd be an engagement post, and she was sure there was, she must've missed it. "Valentine's proposal, romantic. Congrats. Isn't there usually like a year of planning for these things? You've got time."
"You know I gotta say JLO really played the shit out of her role in the wedding planner because she made that look so much easier than it is." Brodie of course knew he wasn't doing it alone and they had plenty of time but that hadn't stopped himself from buying far too many wedding magazines. "Also..choreographed dances at weddings, yay or nay?"
"JLO's an underrated actress. Hustlers? Way better than any music she's put out." She peaked over at Brodie's magazine spread curiously, getting a glimpse of white gowns and extravagant cakes. "Absolutely not, but wait are you getting married?" With an emphasis on the last word, Vienna did a little teasing gasp.
Hernando had been pretty determined to have a good night, especially with both him and Blue in attendance. Things had started to feel different lately, like she wasn't quite ready for them to actually be a couple and it was proven when he tried to kiss her earlier by the drinks and she ducked away, leaving him standing there as she went off with her friends instead. So he took his drink and a plate of food and went elsewhere to drown his sorrows. "You should really try the pumpkin cupcakes, I've had like five, they're so good," he told someone, mouth still full as he glanced over at them. "You think they're gonna have a cupcake eating contest cause I might just sign myself up."
Felix wasn't interested in whatever game his brother got himself involved in, so he got himself a drink and took a lap around the party. He wasn't an introvert by any means so it was more a matter of when, than if, he'd find someone to talk to. "You might wanna slow down if they do," he joked as he nodded to the guy's plate and grabbed a cupcake for himself. "Unless those ones count too, then you're definitely in the lead." Taking a bite of his cupcake, his eyes widened a bit and he grabbed a plate to put another on it. "Goddamn. What's that in the frosting, cinnamon?"
INTRODUCING: FELIX KIMURA
baby boyyyy. thats it thats the bio.
with three moms, there was never any shortage of love to go around in the betancourt-maddox-kimura household. (vienna and january insisted their boys just take mackenzie's last name- sticking them with that many hyphens felt cruel.)
felix wanted to better understand the world from the second he was conscious of his place in it. he followed up questions with more questions, and his moms welcomed his curiosity. his teachers on the other hand.. not so much. he got reprimanded for questioning authority, when really he just wanted to learn- well, except for those other times when he was questioning authority.
his perception of fame is warped in that he never fully grasped just how famous his moms were until they traveled outside of rosewood. thinks 'nepo baby' as a concept is hilarious and jokes about aspiring to be one.
his outlook on life is generally positive and he can usually find an upside to any situation. he just might need to mouth off about it first.
should probably go without saying that he's kind of a huge nerd. he reads at least a book a week (not including comics) and knows more about chess than anyone his age probably should. may or may not play d&d.
thinks his older brother kenzo is the coolest but also thinks he's better than him? they're both goofs.
possible connections: fellow dweebs, other musicians kids he may know etc etc he needs buds
"It's interesting to see the types that find themselves in here close to midnight." Lip was perched on the counter at Trax, swinging his feet back and forth as he eyed someone walking through the store with absolutely zero subtlety. "Like yourself," he turned, holding out an invisible microphone, "enlighten the people. What brings you out and about this late at night? Insomnia? Vampirism?" He gestured to a sale bin nearby, "A sudden need to own five pre-loved vinyl for five dollars?"
It was no secret January Dreams seldom left their bubble but when they did, Vienna preferred the less trafficked hours of the early morning or late evening. The girls rarely woke up any earlier than ten though, and so she found herself taking advantage of the strange hours at Trax. She'd clocked the guy watching her but ignored him, up until he practically got in her face. "The last one. Can't go out in the day time or I'll melt," she answered shortly, pushing past him to get to the sale bin he'd just pointed out.
The tears behind your dark sunglasses The fears inside your heart as deep as gashes Walk beside me, not behind me Feel my unconditional love
“Do you want to know how you and Jan were in my dream?” She wiggled her eyebrows and then giggled, “No you weren’t playing the drums, we were doing that one vanity fair 72 question home tour thing and in the middle of it we just kind of made this song on the fly…and then we were all in our underwear and the camera crew had to leave and it turned into a different kind of dream.” She shook her head, not unlike an excited puppy while she started scanning the items in their cart, leaving the bagging to Vienna as she was particular where as Mack would throw anything in with anything, “Yeah, we can wear pretty dresses and joust and eat turkey legs as big as our heads.”
“With that kind of reaction I’m not so sure,” she chuckled. “Did we do one of those for Vanity Fair, like actually? They all run together for me sometimes, but maybe I dreamt that one too. The song in the middle though, that’s where you got your drum groove? Maybe what I’ve got was in your dream too, that’d be crazy.” Mackenzie’s attitude was usually infectious, so it was no surprise that Vienna got more excited as they talked, at the prospect of what they’d yet to create. “Sounds like an ideal day to me. I want to wear the dress while I joust though.”
"Mack always says there's no such thing as a bad photo of me, so thank you for keeping my head a respectful size." To be fair she too would say the same for Vienna, but that wasn't the point. What she appreciated most about her girlfriends was the different ways they approached the world. Vienna was practical, the type who thrived in her independence, so of course she was the one to show January how to do things herself rather than doing them for her. Not that Mackenzie's methods were any less desirable; it was no secret they adored how much she cared for them. The three of them had always been the parts of a whole, none more or less than the others. "You'd think it would be easy considering how many photos we've had taken of us," she chuckled, adjusting her posture a few times to the point she felt kind of stupid. That, she'd learned, tended to be exactly when these things were happening as they should so she snapped a picture quickly. Eyes scrunched shut, she held her phone out for Vienna to assess. "At least tell me the guitar looks cool."
"It's just not your best," she teased with a smile, though even the goofiest angle couldn't convince her January was anything other than radiant. There was a time when she feared Jan and Mack would naturally gravitate towards one another, shutting her out. It felt silly now, when they were so obviously three pieces of the same whole. "That's because somebody's always yelling directions at us." Vienna's voice softened of its own accord as she watched her girlfriend position herself for the photo, though she was wary of making her self-conscious too so she averted her gaze until the final product was ready. She peaked over Jan's shoulder when such was the case and nodded, offering her a smile. "Yep. That can go on the gram," she joked, then kissed the side of her head. "Is the guitar coming home with us or did you just want a picture with it?
"Why is this so hard..." January was squinting at her phone, moving it up and down in an attempt to take a selfie with a cool guitar she'd seen in the window of the music store. Having grown up in a vastly technology free household and then dropped into the fame machine where there were people to do these things for her, she'd never quite become a natural when it came to handling her phone. "Oh no, noooo... Come on..." She groaned a laugh, flipping her phone around to show the terrible angle she'd captured, making her forehead look atrociously huge. "Help a girl out? Please?"
Vienna would’ve helped January earlier but she knew how much she wanted to figure these things out for herself. And while she wasn’t sure how much longer she could watch her struggle she found it kind of endearing too. When Jan turned her phone around to show off the fruits of her labor, she couldn’t help the laugh that’d escaped her. “What’d you do, use a fisheyes lens? Here.” Taking January by her arms, she shifted her to the side some so she’d have the best angle with the guitar in the back, then got out her own phone to demonstrate. She wasn’t going to take the picture for her, if she really wanted to learn, but she could mirror her. “Drop your chin more and... zoom out, it looks like you pushed in a bit.”
“Oh sorry, you just look super cool and tough, or maybe tough just acts like you and not the other way around.” Mackenzie tapped her temple as if to say ‘think about it’. She nodded, “You don’t have to be jealous of the grooves though, you and Jan were in my dream too. I think if we’re putting our heads together there’s not really a 'could, it’s a 'when’, baby. Oh! Do you know what I saw that looked really cool? A renaissance fair, can we all go, please please please?”
“Oh tough definitely acts like me baby.” She grinned, “Do I get to know how Jan and I were in your dream, ooo were we playing the drums? Plot twist. You’re so right, that’s definitely a when. A renaissance fair?” She chuckled then shrugged, stopping as they got to the self-checkout line. “Sure. People dress up for that right? That could be fun.”
The last thing Mackenzie said to the fan was to tag her in the picture, which really seemed to make them happy and after that her attention was on Vienna, “Are you sure? Don’t try to be all tough, I think you’re cute even if you’re not.” Mackenzie joked with a sly smirk while she leaned in and kissed the side of her mouth while she rubbed small circles in Vienna’s stomach for a moment, “I don’t think so but texting Jan is a good idea, have you really? Big yes! I can’t wait to hear how all of those beautiful thoughts decided to let themselves out of your head.” Vienna’s compliments were never just because, especially to the girls, they were always genuine and she held them in such high regard. “I’ve been working on a couple of drum grooves maybe one of them will fit with your lyrics. One of them I’ve had stuck in my head for days I think I’ve got it down perfect now. Came to me in a dream.”
“I’m not being tough,” she laughed, playfully swatting Mackenzie’s hand away. They way they wrote music together seemed to reflect how they fit together as people too, little complementary pieces puzzled together into something whole. Since leaving their label she didn’t think there was one song they’d wrote that wasn’t entirely their’s, penned by all three of them. “You’re dreaming about drum grooves?” It shouldn’t have surprised her, it was about the most Mackenzie thing she’d ever heard, but she still smiled back at her curiously. “Yeah I think if we put our heads together, some of these could be something. I’ll bet Jan’s got something up her sleeves too.”
ainsleyrice:
Ainsley, unbothered, snapped the picture anyway. She got a better angle of her face with the attention on her. She smirked. “It won’t be called anything. I was sending it to my friend Callista to see if you were the one from that band. She knows this shit better than me but looks like I guessed right. I don’t work for TMZ or anything don’t worry.”
“The one from that band?,” she repeated, brow raised. Smirking, she let her shoulders drop, relaxing as she motioned to the phone in her hand again. “I better at least look cute.”
Mackenzie had gotten distracted somewhere around the snack aisle and after finding her favorite flavor of pocky, (matcha, of course) she started bouncing around the store trying to find Vienna. A smile spread across her face hearing her around the corner and she rolled up (literally with the grocery cart) next to her as she spoke to someone who apparently was taking a video of her, “What about your heavy flow?” She asked then waved at the clearly starstruck and semi speechless person in front of them, “Hi. You know pictures come out way better when you ask. Do you want one?” They nodded and Mackenzie obliged, waving the person over while she smushed herself close to Vienna, taking on the role of director, “Okay everybody say heavy flow.” Mack snapped a few selfies then gave them their phone back while saying goodbye. She was as sweet as ever, but what she said left no room for lingering, “You looked hot in that picture. How’s your tummy?” She asked while took the tampons from Vienna’s hand and tossed it in the basket, should we get Midol too?“
Of the three of them Mackenzie was probably the quote-on-quote best celebrity- universally liked, marketable, enjoyed talking to people, and patient, which Vienna didn’t think enough people gave her credit. She chuckled as she came rolling down the aisle, mood immediately lifted. Though she generally wished people would ask before taking their picture, she had to remind herself the world wasn’t always out to get her, it could’ve just been a fan to shy to approach her. And for good reason apparently. With Mack’s posing direction, she smiled for a few pictures then said goodbye. “My tummy’s just fine. Are we forgetting anything? I should probably text Jan just in case,” she said as she got her phone out. “Oh I’ve been writing some stuff, nothing crazy, just little diddies here and there. Thought maybe we could brainstorm over breakfast tomorrow?”
