I may or may not have Mononoke as my new hyperfixation.
Wouls it be blasphemy if I said I prefer to the movies to the series...?

GLITCH: *wants to put TADC in cinemas*Also GLITCH: *ignores cinemas reaching out to them*
The Grimiore Editions of the manga are so pretty oh my gooooood
Oh boy, Glitch's done it again.
so these screenshots of Glassdoor reviews from Glitch employees have been making the rounds on Twitter recently. now i personally cannot confirm or deny the truth of the allegations told in these screenshots, but i do know this: Glassdoor is a website where employees can review the working conditions they face at the company they're employed at. it's a well-known fact that Glassdoor doesn't allow just anyone to post a review there unverified; they have to show ample proof that they actually were employed at the company they say they were. so, we can operate under the assumption that these reviews are, most likely, more or less a legitimate look into Glitch Production's inner workings. however, if i'm wrong, please let me know. tl;dr: these reviews essentially state that Glitch treats its female employees like shit (what a surprise), sets ridiculously unrealistic expectations for its workers, resorts to intimidation and threats on multiple occasions, and even coerces workers to write false good reviews to boost their Glassdoor ratings (among other horrible shit). and Boy, am i not surprised but still somehow disappointed. honestly, i didn't think my respect for glitch could sink any lower, but here we are, i guess. apparently this is the same company that's going to be "paving the way for a new generation of indie artists" or whatever. more like falling back on the very same underpaying, overworking, greedy, toxic abusive bullshit that's been plaguing the animation and entertainment industries for decades now. great work guys, thanks! you're a stain on our history and the future of animation is even deeper in the pits than it ever was. we're one step back from ever redefining and reworking the rampant malpractice, mistreatment and dehumanization going on behind closed doors. link to Glitch's Glassdoor page: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Glitch-Productions-Reviews-E8656356.htm Link to twitter posts with screenshots and summaries: https://x.com/lumirunner/status/2057519161648333178 https://x.com/lumirunner/status/2057800789977174404
Disappointed but not surprised.
Thoughts after seeing the movie (leaked) SPOILERS
Someone put the whole thing, subbed, on Tiktok.
Even a 2x speed it was BORING. Like, this is the thing that's supposed to go to cinemas and change indie animation??
It was, to borrow a phrase, so ass. Terrible. Atrocious. I didn't even pay to see it and I want my money back.
Jax, Jax, Jax being so damn centred you'd think it was The Amazing Digital Jax Show.
The mindscapes of Jax. The dress scene. Just ew.
The twist with them just being digital copies? Executed shittily, done terribly. Zero hints. Zero setup.
This was a Youtube finale - not a movie - and it SHOWS.
TADC should never have gone to cinemas. There, I said it.
Webseries should stay webseries. They're not cinema compatible outside of a few rare exceptions.
The Amazing Digital Circus is not cinema compatible. It's not even cinema worthy. It's not a feature length film, it wasn't conceptualised as a film, it wasn't written as a film.
You can't just slap a pair of episodes (8 and 9) together a la Zooble and call it a film. That's now how films work. That's now how any of this works.
AND Glitch's latest FB post. "We refuse to change the original vision", "Distributors wanted raw files — that's how leaks happen", "Laws prevent us due to proximity to streaming release". Every single problem you list is a direct consequence of trying to put a YouTube indie webseries' finale into cinemas when it wasn't *written for it*. If TADC was a movie from day one, went the indie film festival route (like FLOW), these issues would be far reduced. Not gone, but reduced to what is normal for an indie film.
You want TADC in cinemas? Okay.
Scrap the current version. Rewrite it as the beats-making-sense, three-act-structure, 90+ min runtime actual movie. Put it through the film festival circut. Do what FLOW did. Do what Iron Lung did.
Glitch and Goose, this is NOT it. Cinemas are for movies, not episodes.
I think this brings up a lot of interesting points that I wouldn't have thought of without seeing this post. A lot of people don't like the idea of TADC coming to theaters because it could be spoiled, but you bring up the point that it might not be "appropriate" for cinemas since it was not conceptualized as a single movie.
I personally don't think that matters very much. I think it's cool that another indie show will get a theatrical release along with Flow and Iron Lung, even if it isn't a "proper" movie, though I believe your insight into why Glitch is having trouble with it is accurate.
I don't want to be rude in any way. Just wanted to share my thoughts :)
Respectfully, it does. Movies are structured a certain way and they work in cinemas because of it. Mashing two episodes together isn't a movie-it's two episodes mashed together.
TADC should never have gone to cinemas. There, I said it.
Webseries should stay webseries. They're not cinema compatible outside of a few rare exceptions.

If I see even one more piece of graffiti on this campus that says "Read Whipping Girl" I'm going to actually lose it. Y'all do know that book played a huge role in making transandrophobes as obnoxious as they are, correct? You do know that book played a part in further isolating trans men and mascs from the community they belong in, correct? Y'all DO KNOW that book made it harder to be a trans man or masc in this day and age, CORRECT? Fuck all of you.
"Oh but it was so long ago!"
This excuse only worked in 2019 when the "long ago" was like... 2010 or 2012. Or if the people were like teenagers.
Making edgy and racist jokes in 2019 as an adult just leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth. C'mon now.
In a few years we'll use the same damn excuse of "oh but it was so long ago" to refer to like 2024 and as the years go by that excuse will only get worse and worse. We need to stop using it eventually man...
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this.
This is directed at the Helluva/Hazbin fans barking (rightfully) about the racism of the VAs involved in The Amazing Digital Circus.
If you Helluva/Hazbin fans demand the TADC VAs apologise for their racism (I too think they should apologise), I better see y'all demanding Viv do the same. Transphobia at trans men and nonbinary people is still transphobia.
To the fecker who posted the full film on YouTube, I hate you.
I hope your sleep is never restful. I hope your relationships degrade. I hope you get sick and never recover. I hope you suffer an unfixable toothache that makes it impossible to eat anything hot or cold ever again.
Hate you.
An all-transmasc Ironman trio just won 3rd place in a major men's triathlon, beating over 200 other men's teams. 🏊♂️🏃🚴♂️ Trans men win men's competitions all the time, but nobody pays attention because it doesn't fit the mainstream narrative. I think we should celebrate their victories, too! 🏆
It seems we are staring this new year the same we did last. With a Black trans man found dead in New York. And like last time, no one on social media is talking about it, because we don't talk about dead trans men.
Danny Siplin was 33-years-old, he was a community builder, a dedicated son that drove his mother to work every morning, and he loved the snow.
He was found dead near his car on a bridge in Rochester. Police have alleged there was no foul play involved in his death, but details of his death have not been released to the public. The media reporting his death misgendered him on TV and in articles. He was described by his mother as someone who "give the shirt off [his] back,".
Sam Nordquist's body was found almost a year ago, also in New York, also after he had gone missing. Sam Nordquist was de-gendered by the New York Times, which initially had correctly referred to him as a trans man before changing the language to "person". Sam, a 24-year-old Black trans man, had been tortured and raped for three months before he was killed and his buddy dumped and dedicated. The media also failed him, not just by misgendered and de-gendering him but also by using photos of him pre-transition. Something that his Wikipedia page has also done.
He was described by his mother as someone who "give the shirt off his back,".
It has also been almost two years since the murder of TK Hill, a 35-year-old Black publicly transgender man, who was shot and killed in front of his home at the start of 2024. TK had been a community organizer and an LGBT salon owner. TK Hill was also described as someone who would "give the shirt off his back,".
As I mourn the death of Danny Siplin, I am still mourning the death of Sam Nordquist and TK Hill. I mourn the deaths of all trans men whose names go unspoken, whose names go erased, who have been defined as people who give and give and give - even when they had very little and faced such great and terrible adversity.
WOW a lot of you really liked my Iron Lung comic! I don’t know how feasible it would be to make a comic spanning the full movie, but I think the first 5 minutes should be doable, so that’s the goal right now. More to come soon hopefully o7
THIS IS SO COOL!!
I would so buy Iron Lung as a graphic novel
I like when people HC Simon Iron Lung to be ftm because it’s so fucking rare you see a fandom HC a hypermasculine figure to be a trans man
Lemmie be the friend who’s to woke for a sec ok. So often when I see a ftm HC it’s because a guy is perceived as more feminine. Either he’s gender non conforming, or short, or the character trope of “the weak one”, ect. It gets exhausting man. I’m not saying trans men can’t be feminine, gender is a spectrum and I think that’s beautiful. And it’s not impossible or anything to find characters outside of this stereotype. But it does feel a little rarer in comparison
It just makes me happy to see someone like Simon get the HC and seemingly so many ppl agree
Iron Lung thoughts

I love how it (literally) drops you in, like you're watching from a camera on the tow(?) vessel as the sub is dropped into the ocean
The voice over for it sounds like an older Mark? Whoever he was (I fogot lol) has a 10/10 voiceI did NOT recognise Jacksepticeye. Didn't sound like him in any way I recognised and the fit didn't help
The outfits!! I am a sucker for scrappy cobbled fits with patches and etc.
The "camera" being an xray made the images being the way they are make sense, but I can't help ponder, what about ultrasound? Surely it wouldn't be as bad, radiationally. Or am I dumb?
Watch out for the yellow light. NO LIGHT MEANS NOT REAL
The soundtrack slaps. Though I feel some could have been in different places to change the mood? Like, the massive thumping one in the trip to the sunken sub could be swapped to the ram-the-creature-then-book-it-backwards-to-escape scene for more oomph? If that makes sense?
The (other) light! Under the sea! What's beyond it?? A purgatory? An afterlife??
I did look away at the vomiting blood scenes. Sorry. Can't stand the sound or visual.
The flesh moss in the climax?? The sub was mutating?? So cool! Also, in the log before it, if I understand right, they turned what was in it into food. Good idea in theory, definitely not in practice.
I knew I saw it properly the first time, Simon (Mark's character)'s left eye iris turned red briefly. From the infection through the cut above it? It looked cool AF.
Is the name Ava a reference to Eve? Whole buncha biblical references aside from the Rapture, so idk
I LOVE the monster design holy crap!! I want a statuette of it. And the sub.
The light breaking through the ship, the acknowledgement they both see each other, and then the bloody hellish world with the sinking monster face?? I need it as a poster asap
It would have been beautiful and arguably poetic if he was brought to the surface and then died. He died in the sub :( He should have got a taste of freedom :( :( Is this what they call a Phyrric (I have no idea how to spell it) victory?
I need someone to articulate my problem with Bakugo almost dying for me. Because every time I try I just sound like "I'm about to say it. I don't care that you broke your elbow." Like it definitely is mainly because of my hatred of Bakugo and (my hatred of) the fact that Horikoshi dick rides him so hard. But I can't be the only one who thinks this, and I need someone to articulate it so I can have my thoughts in order
It's plot armour to favour his pet brat. I mean, his HEART exploded. Went fucking BOOM and got shredded. But no, Edgeshot had to do this asspull "I'll turn myself into thread and be a living pacemaker" shit that had no foreshadowing proper just to save the precious aggro bastard. Having a named character so prominent in the story would have added genuine stakes, but no. All Heroes live except Midnight (which served minimal or no purpose, death-wise!), all villains die or end up jailed. But no. Aggro pomeranian has his heart go boom and Hori pulls an asspull to save him.
