(Also, this really reminds of this specific part in One Piece’s Enies Lobby arc; where during Luffy’s fight with Rob Lucci where he tells Luffy he trapped and flooded the floor where his crew are and they’ll drown to death unless he leaves to save them but Luffy makes a clearheaded decision to stay and fight Lucci because he has faith they’ll figure out a way to escape and prioritises defeating Lucci first since, if he doesn’t defeat Lucci right there, Lucci will kill him and his friends all later.)
