Fun Concept that randomly spurred to me when talking to @martincrushcameback

Essentially, Royal AU - Arranged Marriage. Zach comes from a very strict kingdom of war mongers, a kingdom run by his father. Zach had always been sickly, and so eventually Zach’s father essentially pawns him off to the Kingdom of Beasts, hoping to at least get an ally out of the deal, but mostly to force his son into a Kingdom that would probably get him killed. All to teach him responsibility, and a consequence to being a failure. However, the Kingdom of Beasts aren’t as beastly as rumors have them out to be.

Zach gets married off to Chris, expecting to essentially lose every bit of his humanity left, to die or get tortured and mauled by the beasts. And yet, he’s met with kindness. He’s welcomed into the pack. What a strange Kingdom it is.

The 10th Kingdom (2000), Cloaked by Alex Flinn, and The Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley were all based off various fairytales.

Honestly it's probably dated by now (came out in 2000) and maybe some of the plot points could happen in a smoother way, but dang it! The way it incorporates fairy tales (especially Snow White) as historical background, not only for the 9 Kingdoms but also the 10th Kingdom (New York) characters, is still an aspect I love about it. Also it is very much rooted in the Grimm fairy tales (taking the cue from Snow White), so some of the humor comes from the morbid and fatalistic attitude of the 9 Kingdoms characters vs. the New York ones. I just think it's fun. It rewired my brain in how to tell fairy tales tied in with a modern setting.

In the light of recent Fenro events I have to admit that I'm sad this post didn't make it better after some of my last Fenro posts got to 100 notes.

What is the point of celebrating that one of the characters in the ship is Latino if the cultural traits are not portrayed? I love Latino humor, but my art won't go anywhere if I keep using it.

I'll make one last effort to celebrate Latino contemporary culture with Fenro, but I can already feel the flop.
