Back on the school bench

Hello guys!

This is my second week back in Belgium and I want to go back to Prague already because I miss it so much. What I missed a lot of my internship was my office chair because the school benches is hurting my buttocks.

A lot of people asked me what I will never forget from my adventure in Prague. To be honest I will never forget the moment that we had to pay 16 euros for an entrance by the Roxy and also the friendly people of IP Fabric. I never expected that I would have such a good relationship with my colleagues, especially with Thomas because he gave me a lot of tips, so I want to thank him for that.

I also want to thank the other students for the amazing memories, the teachers for realizing this project and of cours Erasmus+ for making this possible.

My Prague adventure is now officially over and also this blog. I want to thank everyone who followed my blogposts.

Last day with Tomas!

Ahoj guys!

Today is my last day working with Tomas because tomorrow he will leave Prague to go on holiday with his family. He wants to ski in Czech Republic but he has a little problem. He told me yesterday the city where he wanted to go skiing, there it’s now too warm to go skiing. Maybe he should take his bike on vacation because he also likes to ride with a bike in his spare time. Although I wish Tomas a really good holiday and hopefully he will get the chance to ski with his family. For tomorrow he gave me some tasks for during the day and Friday may I stay home from him.

I would really like to thank Tomas for the amazing 3 weeks. I’ve learned a lot from him and hopefully we will meet each other again in the future.

Nog maar 1 week te gaan (⌣́_⌣̀)

Ahoj allemaal!

Mijn 2de werkweek bij IP Fabric zit er ook al op, jammer want de tijd vliegt zonder dat ik het door heb. Deze week heb ik een beetje meer variatie gekregen in mijn takenpakket zoals het bewerken van Word documenten en Excel bestanden. De eerste taak dat Tomas mij had gegeven is bijna klaar maar nog niet helemaal dus ik zal volgende week alles aan doen om ze af te maken.

Net zoals vorige week ben ik elke dag samen met mijn collega’s iets gaan lunchen behalve op donderdag. Tomas had namelijk een meeting en de collega’s waren al onderweg richting een restaurant dus besloot ik om naar de Panos te gaan. Dit was gemakkelijker voor mij om te gaan lunchen omdat de meeste restaurants een Tsjechische menukaart hebben en vaak geen Engelse menukaart.

Ik ben nog steeds zeer tevreden over mijn stageplaats. De collega’s zijn allemaal super vriendelijk, we lachen met elkaar en helpen ook elkaar tijdens het werk.

Volgende week zal Tomas 2 dagen niet aanwezig zijn omdat hij samen met zijn familie op skivakantie vertrekt. Het zal een beetje wennen zijn om zonder met hem te werken. Maar ik wens hem het beste en hopelijk verongelukt hij zich niet.

Finally it’s weekend!

Hello guys!

The first week went by as an express train. On Monday I met Tomas for the first time, I was a little bit nervous how he would react on my arrival by IP Fabric but everything went very well. When Ann Van den Meutter and Kathleen Genoe left the company, Thomas introduced me to all his colleagues. They are very kind and they always ask me to go for lunch in the afternoon. I always appreciate their offer but I have already been to 4 different restaurants this week, so I will probably have no money left after the coming weeks. It also has its advantages of getting to know each other a little bit better and talking about certain things.

After this week, I think that I’m in the right place at IP Fabric because everyone seems to like me and they appreciate my hard work for the company. I hope that the following weeks will be just as fun or maybe more fun as this week.

Yesterday, we started the weekend off with a drink in The Orange Bar, a few miles away from our apartment. After a couple of drinks we went to Roxy, a discotheque close to The Orange Bar. The music was really good but we had to pay reasonably high amount at the entrance so we didn't have that much money left to be able to continue partying.

We also went to Pilsner Urquell brewery today. I’ve learned a lot about the history of making Pilsner and all the materials inside the buildings were very beautiful to watch. Big thanks to Sophie!!

My first impression of Prague!

Ahoj guys!!

Yesterday, we arrived in Prague around 11:00 AM. We had an amazing flight of one hour and 5 minutes. The other students and me had slept the whole flight. When we came outside the airport, our taxi was ready to leave to our apartment. We arrived at our apartment around 1:00 PM. It looks really good. I would really like to thank Hana, the owner of our apartment for this beautiful stay.

After the meeting with Hana, we went to explore the city together with Ann Van den Meutter and Kathleen Genoe. We had already visited some very beautiful places.

Tomorrow, Alex and me have to wake up at 7:00 AM to prepare us for our first internship day. I’m really looking forward to meet Tomáš Michálek and starts this unbelievable adventure with this amazing groupe.

Stage is in zicht!

Hallo allemaal!

Vandaag mijn eerste blog post in het Nederlands! Binnen 2 weken zal ik België verlaten om bij IP Fabric stage te lopen. Ik ga even kort toelichten wat het bedrijf doet, wat mijn taken zullen zijn, wanneer het werk gedeelte voor mij zal beginnen en ten slotte wie mijn stagementor is.

IP Fabric brengt bedrijfsnetwerken in kaart en verifieert deze bedrijfsnetwerken, ze voorkomen ook het uitvallen en het verminderen op operationele risico. Mijn taken tijdens mijn stage zullen vooral online marketingtaken zijn en andere werkzaamheden op het gebied van marketing. Op 11 februari zal ik voor het eerst mijn stagementor ontmoeten, hij heet Tomáš Michálek de COO van het bedrijf. Ik kan niet wachten om Thomáš en de rest van het IPF-team te ontmoeten!

My Prague expectations

Hello guys!

In a few weeks I am going to Prague with other 5 students of my school and a lot of people ask me what I expect about my adventure in Prague. Honestly I will expect a lot.

My internship abroad takes place at IP Fabric. In the next blog post I will give you guys more information about my internship. I think it will be very instructive weeks for me, because I can experience how people work abroad. I would like to improve my English in Prague and I want to learn some Czech words. I would also like to improve my digital skills because I believe this will be very useful in my professional life. I’m excited to meet my colleagues and I hope to improve my social skills and much more.... I still can’t believe that I’m allowed to do this.

Welcome to my blog

Hi and welcome to my blog!

I’m Vince and currently I study Office Management and Communication @Sint-Maria. I am 18 years old and i’m from Belgium. Me and 38 other students have the opportunity to go on internship abroad. We could choose between different destinations but my choice went to Prague.

In a couple of weeks we are leaving Belgium, We’re with 5 students in total. I’m really looking forward to this internship with my fellow classmates.
