I hate jj abrams mystery box writing but warframe is such an amazing case study in how explaining too much can obliterate what makes your story compelling. in 2015 when we had no idea what sentients were and ufos started showing up in missions it was the sickest thing ever. now they are daddy mpreg and his chud son. in 2014 the stalker was a legitimately creepy presence in the game and now he is the guy from the "I also choose this guy's dead wife" reddit post and he spends all his time bumming around some other guy's apartment, they met at a widower support group and they're not like that like that but sometimes he stays the night, also he likes to bring his kid over because it makes the other guy so happy to play with a toddler he almost forgets that his daughter took out a restraining order against him and he's not allowed to see his grandkids anymore
