apen was glad to be back in campus, although spending the holidays with her family was nice, she did miss her friends and the environment that yale had. she had settled herself back in her room at the kappa house, and decided to go out for a run. she changed into some comfortable pants, a sports bra, and sneakers pulling her hair up in a ponytail, all ready to go on a run. she left the house and began running around campus, air pods on, music loud enough to distract her from her surroundings. looking down at her phone in an attempt to switch the song, she ran into someone causing them both to almost fall. âoh shit. iâm so sorry.â she quickly apologized. âare you okay ?â
As much as he liked to be in the moment, Vinny had adopted a terrible habit of walking as he scrolled through his Instagram feed - which is why he wasnât surprised at the collision he had with Aspen, nearly falling to to the ground and his phone fumbling to the ground. "Iâm all good. Are you?â he asked in return after picking his (thankfully uncracked) phone off of the sidewalk. âGood to see you though,â he chuckled, given the circumstances. âI see youâre getting in shape for tennis season quite early. How was your winter break?â

âWell, good luck to you - I could neverâ Bruno shook his head at the thought of having the willpower to make such a change. Bruno then toyed with the bag as he awaited the other maleâs decision. âYeah, take halfâ a devilish smirk creeped across Brunoâs face as he handed the other male the pill. He popped a whole pill in his mouth and quickly swallowed as he focused his attention on the other male. âIâm Bruno by the wayâ he offered the other a slight smile. Usually, he wasnât one for friendliness, but he had already shared his stash so why not share his name. âYou usually make a habit of taking Xannys from strangers?â he asked with a teasing glance.
He took the white pill and held it between his fingers cautiously, as if he was pondering his decision again. âVinny, nice to meet you.â Seeing how seamless the other popped his pill, Vinny quickly broke the bar in half and put the smaller piece in his mouth. âNew year, new me?â he teased, making fun of the cliche. âI actually have never taken one of these but itâs so embedded in hip-hop culture I feel inclined to try. Do these kick in quick?â he asked, having swallowed the pill and now waiting anxiously for its effects.

Ⱐ° ă â Donât you ever hear strange noises late at night in your house but you donât know if its your house creaking or something else?  Well ll I just hurt one and it had me shookâŠ.what should I do?⊠â ă
âI usually just assume itâs one of my brothers getting a late night snack or a one night stand sneaking out. Maybe grab a bat? I bet itâs nothing though.â
hendrixbryanâ:
ââ câmon i donât have all day to be your photographerâŠâ hendrix sighed heavily as he watched the other.Â
"I know, I know-,â he insisted, rushing to run his brush over the top of his head before smiling at his fraternity brother. âI just need the perfect headshot for LinkedIn. Itâs interview season, Hendrix.â He held up two ties, one red and one navy. âLast question before the photo - which tie screams Goldman Sachs?â
hendrixbryanâ:
ââ câmon i donât have all day to be your photographerâŠâ hendrix sighed heavily as he watched the other.Â
âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry,â he repeated, holding up two ties to his fraternity brother. âLast question. Which one screams Goldman Sachs? I need this LinkedIn headshot to be perfect.â

Bruno shook his head at the notion of going vegan, âI tried being vegan for 2017 and I failed by the 4th. I like cheese too damn muchâ he smirked. Bruno certainly didnât want to pressure the other into taking one of his party favors so he put the bag into plain view and explained, âWell, depends on which you choose. One is Xanax which will chill you out, one is E which will make you want to make out with everyone and one is a Vitamin D supplement which will just make you feel wild for taking a pill at a party.â Bruno then asked, âSo, whatâll it be?â
âI think thatâs going to be one of the things I miss the most. Either that or Popeyes,â he admitted, eyes still drawn to the baggie that Bruno held between his fingers. He wasnât quite sure if he believed the other about the Vitamin D. He had heard enough about Xanax that it piqued his interest but he wasnât sure if this was the moment. âUh...â he hesitated, looking Bruno in the eyes before taking in a breath. He wanted to embrace the social atmosphere at Yale and maybe this would put him in a good mood. âFuck it - give me the Xan. I take half right?âÂ

âI think itâs Rourke. I never had him but I read his Rate My Professors page and purposely never took a class with him âcause everyone said he was nuts,â Aston said with a shake of his head. That, and he had no interest in whatever literature class the old man was teaching. Generally speaking, Aston wasnât the most up-to-date on campus happenings or gossip unless he was involved, and as far as he was concerned everything at Yale was pretty much the status quo. âYouâre not wrong. It gets wild but nothing youâd really be surprised by, at this point. I didnât know about any of the frats being on thin ice, though, thatâs news. ButâŠâ He glanced again at the Delta Sigma house with a shrug. âPi Tauâs normal, if me not being kicked out of my room is any indication, and Iâm guessing Delta Sigâs fine, too. If anyoneâs getting suspended, my moneyâd be on Alpha Chi. I heard a few of them owed a fuckton in damages to some local restaurant they rented out.â
Vinny made a face of disgust at the mention of Rourke. âThat man was archaic and it was ridiculous. I did well in the class but he really made us work for it. You know those old ass professors who refuse to get with the times? He was that times ten. He also lost our midterms and made us redo them,â he explained, chuckling. âYou probably read my scathing review of him though. Iâm pretty sure I wrote two whole paragraphs.â He rose an eyebrow about the Alpha Chi news, not exactly surprised but mildly interested. âWell then glad Iâm returning to some peace and serenity for once. Another scandal is the last thing our Greek community needs.â

âItâs family tradition. My dad saw me speaking to an advisor from Colombia once and wouldnât look at me for two weeks.â Piper had remembered the intense pressure put on her to get into Yale. Sure, her parents money and legacy helped, but even legacy students had to be top notch to get in. âTiger parents are a name brand where Iâm from. Whereâd you grow up?â It was interesting learning about other peopleâs intense families, considering how torturous hers could be at times. âYou donât make a case for law school. Law school makes a case for itself. Going to grad school is perfectly fine. Iâll even call it a smart choice. But being a lawyer is hardcore and so is law school, especially at a place like Yale. You either have the passion to be in with the big dogs or you donât.âÂ
âHonestly it makes sense because Iâd want my kids to go to Yale. You want your kids to do better than you and well... this school is already the best. I guess I could accept Harvard,â he joked, reminiscing back to the overwhelming college application process. Although his parents werenât Ivy Leaguerâs themselves they still placed an insurmountable amount of pressure on him. âIâm from a suburb right outside of Boston so itâs pretty similar. All those colleges in the area make people pretty academically inclined. I have so many friends who parents are in academia.â Thatâs when she made it sound more compelling, Vinny starting to grin. âSee Iâm competitive as hell and that was the plea that I was looking for. Regardless I still have a year or so to figure it out but I think Iâm going to sit for the LSATs regardless.â

well, that was embarrassing. there was nothing worse than being mistaken for a high schooler except for perhaps being one. wringing her hands awkwardly, the redhead stuttered for a moment, trying to find the words. âi⊠no. i mean, thank you!â it was very nice of him to offer her help, which he didnât have to do. âthatâs sweet of you, but, no. iâm not a high schooler, iâm just new.â the englishwoman replied. âthough i suppose itâs just as incriminating to look like a teenager as it is to be one.â
He realized his mistake by her reaction, mouth transitioning into an O shape as he acknowledged his mistake. âMy bad,â he quickly corrected, keeping up a smile. âThereâs just a lot of confused high schoolers strutting around sometimes. A lot of them try to sneak into frat parties believe it or not.â He had to help one of his brothers out of that situation. âTransfer or freshman?â he asked. âTrust me I want to leave my teenage years completely behind me.â

âhe typed it on social media, but same thing,â she shrugged to herself even though it made her frown. âweâve been broken up for a year,â she admitted, figuring she might as well be honest on that despite it putting her in a worse light. âi just got angry after he said that.â among other things.. farren didnât have to explain herself to vinny, though. or anyone, really. her mother would be highly disappointed if she tried. âi always got the feeling you were more of aâŠâ she paused, unsure how to word this nicely. âa dandy. okayââ reaching out, farren rested a placating hand on his shoulder briefly. âthat sounds bad, but i mean that like, you never gave me the frat boy fuckboy vibe that 99% of these other guys do. not everyone who pledges is a bottomless keg, you know.â and she hoped he continued to stay as he was, instead of turning into another scotty. then again, farren didnât know much to vinny aside from this superficial layerâ maybe he already was. it was far more likely than not, as heâd just told her not to judge him by the cover. farren decided to trust him on that, and dropped her hand away. âcountry is like, the most liked and listened to genre there is. i guarantee you, thereâs country buffs in this house,â she returned, hmphing at bit at his discrediting to her preference. âiâll let you get settled in,â the kappy said then, walking to the door. âbefore you say something else about country and i get myself banned from your frat house too.â a joke, really, because what he thought of it didnât really changed that she liked it anyway.Â
âWell obviously you were angry, I donât think people take tire irons to cars when theyâre happy. And knowing Yale I bet it was a really nice car too.â There were plenty of jokes to be made about the kinds of cars that you could find in a Yale parking lot - he had never seen so many luxury cars in one place in his life. âA dandy, huh? I mean youâre not wrong but I can keep up with the best of them,â he insisted, glad that the reputation he crafted for himself remained intact. He preferred to keep his vices under lock and key. âI guarantee that some of my brothers love country but Iâll still do my best to make sure it doesnât hit the stereo,â he joked. âI think my brothers would hate me if I banned hot girls from the house so I donât foresee that happening but peace out Farren. Hopefully I can catch you on campus sometime,â he added with a warm smile.

âyeah, itâs a bit weird seeing it this quiet i guess, but you get used to it in a way when youâve spent so many breaks here before. i never go home anymore,â he said with a shrug as he adjusted the boxes in his hands and headed towards the house with him. âyeah i do. i actually live in the zeta lambda epsilon house.â he said with a shrug. âbut i spend most of my time a pi tau because most of my friends are there. you enjoy delta sigma chi?â he asked as he let his chin rest on top of the box.
âWhereâs home for you?â he inquired curiously as he set down one of the boxes. He nodded, vaguely recognizing the long haired boy as a Zeta. âYeah itâs a good time. I donât know how things have changed this semester though. Hopefully our new pledge class is dope... but our house hasnât burned down or anything so I consider that a win.â
winniemilllerâ:
winifred had never expected to make it to yale, but here she was. it was a little jarring to come back to the western world, especially a school that was so opulent and so different to where sheâd grown up, but she was trying to not let it bother her. unpacking her things hadnât taken her too long, and now she needed to get familiar with the place. unfortunately for the redhead, she had no idea where to begin. sighing gently, she made her way out of her sorority house and began to explore, looking entirely apprehensive before sheâd even begun.
Vinny had gotten into a routine back in Yale faster than he expected, his first few days back on campus offering a seamless transition. He was making his way through his way through greek row when he came across a girl that looked a mix between confused and scared. âUh, if youâre a lost high school student then the tours usually start at the student center which is about a ten minute walk that way,â he directed, all too used to assisting lost prospective students.

Bruno was absolutely exhausted from partying the night before celebrating the new year. But that most definitely wouldnât stop him from having another night of wild partying! As he entered the house party, he grinned and immediately grabbed a drink. Turning to a familiar face near him he smirked, âHey my New Years resolution is to be more charitableâ Bruno explained before pulling a plastic baggie from his pocket that contained an assortment of various pills, âYou want to kick this party up to the next level?â he asked with a smirk.
Vinny greeted Bruno with a smile, nodding at the resolution. âThatâs a good one! I think I always want to do more service. Or possibly go vegan...â he theorized, shrugging before his eyes went wide at the plastic baggy. âSo thatâs what you meant by charity.â He chuckled. âI... it depends. What are exactly are those and what are the side-effects?â His eyes keyed in on the pills that were of various colors and sizes. He hadnât experimented much with pills outside of adderall and was completely in the dark here.

âAm I the only that feels like this year totally sucked? Our would is falling apart and tonight we shall get drunk enough to forget about it. My plan is to take shots til Iâm excited about this next year ahead. Care to join me?â
âI mean I donât think it totally sucked but Iâm hoping that 2019 can be a lot better, yâknow?â he responded, humming at the suggestion. âHow many shots would that be? But yeah... I can drink to that. Hereâs to having fun in the new year?â
