The Mason Jar

Purchased from Fishs Eddy

How to use: There's a mason jar craze hitting the DIY blogs, so I decided to feature my first 'vintage for the home' piece. Invented and patented by John Landis Mason (a Philadelphia tinsmith) in 1858, the glass jar was originally used in canning to preserve food. Today, mason jars are the perfect throwback decorative accessory for any home or office. I've used mine as flower vases, cork containers, or even storage cases at work.

Inherited from my grandma in 2001.

How to wear: Nothing says "it's Spring!" better than this dress. It always makes a bold statement, so it's perfect for weddings or special occasions. I made a matching fascinator for last year's Kentucky Derby party.
