what games are relaunching???

i dont believe anythings been confirmed, but ill give a run down on what ive read.

basically a company called LCG Entertainment have stated that theyre going to revive telltale as they purchased its assets.

this new telltale is going to be co-run by jamie ottilie and brian waddle, who have stated that some of telltales previous workers are going to be offered freelance roles and then proper jobs in the future.

in regards to games, some rights have been sold/reverted back- prime examples being netflix's stranger things game and twdg which was sold to skybound. that means that telltale 2.0 wont (or its *highly* unlikely) be able to continue those stories, however they do still have back-catalog rights to licensed properties The Wolf Among Us and Batman.

so legally, theyre 100% able to continue those games, its just a matter on if the company chooses to start completely fresh or not.

I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but what was the purpose of Louis losing his tongue? What I mean is, how does that round out his character arc? Same with violet going blind?

The point is that they don’t complete their arcs if captured. Like characters that die get their arcs cut short, captured characters get their development subverted.

Being captured subverts the arcs either Louis or Violet start in 402. Louis is becoming brave and is punished for it by getting maimed, Violet is becoming trusting and is punished by losing faith in Clementine and trusting Minnie instead (leading to her face getting burned)

Captured characters get punished for trying to complete their arcs, basically. They get a sort of karmic punishment for trying to change. In the end captured Louis doesn’t get to step up in a big way, and captured Violet who pushed everyone away now cannot live without other people.

If they aren’t captured, they complete their arcs (equally if they live or die)

The big thing with captured Louis/Violet is also to do a twist on the classic Save X or Y choice, where pretty much any other season would just kill the person you didn’t save, we instead have them stick around as a haunting reminder of what you’ve done. Yay guilt!

Sorry for asking a lot but is there any particular reason the dialogue system changed with AJ as the new protagonist?

Primarily to show that AJ thinks differently from Clem, and also to make the player like they were truly someone new, and not just a swap in for Clem. The twist with the choice text being internal instead of external (“I already forgive him.” As AJ vs “I forgive you.” As Clem) was to show how AJ is in his own head a lot.

Also nothing was certain, but it was possible future telltale games might have done something similar in mixing up the classic choice wheel, so as the intended last “traditional” TTG game, we’d hoped it would feel like a hand off to more experimental titles in the future. But then the studio closed so nevermind that :/
