Rowyn watched with a smile as the little girl pestered her mother, excitement at getting the chance to play evident. Rowyn remembered when she was little how titles and such didn’t matter in the eyes of a child at play.
“I do I just got done escorting the Princess to closed gardens.” she responded cleaning up the mess on her table
“Did you hear that, Mama? They’re in the gardens! Come on, come on, come on!” Myriah cried, already dashing for the door.
“What do we say to Lady Rowyn?” Viola called.
“Thank you, Lady Rowyn!” Myriah yelled over her shoulder.
Viola smiled and shook her head apologetically at Lady Rowyn.
“As you can see, her governess is hard-working.”
Rowyn smiled at the child, excited to one day have some of her own, how much joy it would be to have a piece of yourself rediscovering the world you have always known and finding it beautiful and pure.
“Ye are most Velcome sweet Lion!” she called back and grinned at her mother.
“Aye but for now this work is easy for ‘er, ‘ow I envy the children anymore, to be little and carefree once more.” she shook her head.
“Is it ‘ard being a madder? mine always said it vas easy but, then again she always knew just ‘ow to hand my brudders and sessters.”
Viola listened to her daughter’s pattering steps as she rushed down the hallway. She would catch up with Myriah in a moment. Although she was a mother and a wife, she was still a fast runner.
“I try to be as light and carefree as I can. It’s easy, since I spend most of my time with my Myriah. Tytos and I do our best to spend at least an hour with her a day. And being a mother is…well, it’s not hard. The pregnancy is hell, I’ll grant you. Tytos left me halfway through after I told him I was going to…well, it was neither polite nor ideal for our planned future. He had me sent my favorite dishes daily. But having a child, it’s as if you’ve been given a piece of paradise, to love all your own.”
