Crispin stuff is under: #Crispin Glover? more like Crispin My Lover
actually i have a new test of whether you are Cool and it's whether or not you are down with Funky Dolby. like okay we all love the nerdy synthpop twink from the golden age of wireless. we all love the cool socially concious cocktail jazz hipster from the flat earth. but are you down with the horny funk-lover weirdo from aliens ate my buick who concieved such brilliant hits as "i want to fuck my girl's ferrari more than my girl," "god this girl's stupid but a) it's hot and b) it's not her fault #fightthepatriarchy," and "sit on my face please (but it's a hot sauce metaphor)"
Aliens Ate My Buick is a perfect album all the way through. I also never see enough love for “Pulp Culture.” Granted, it’s the most representative of the spirit of an album that’s hated for its spirit, but if you’re gonna make the serious guy famous for his playful silly shit, get down with the playful silly shit!! I can never get enough of the lyrics “Check beneath your fingernails and inbetween your toes, right between your earlobes darling that’s where culture grows.” A man likening American culture to bacteria? It’s irresistible.
Hi! Sorry for the intimidating response Anon, but seeing this ask made me honestly a little emotional.
Thank you so much for showing interest, but I really don’t think it will, or I at least don’t think I’m the person to do it. I’d abandoned the site out of a lack of interest, which I think was natural given the fact he was just a fleeting hyperfixation for me, and I felt guilty letting the site go to ruin, but I just plainly stopped being interested in him and the project.
I only paid for a year of the domain’s ownership, and I don’t know if the html for the website itself is recoverable. I really wish I had kept the site and handed the project off to somebody else, and if I did, I probably would have offered it to @1000screaminggamzees, @jinjieee, or @stellarsightz. I never checked in on the site past maybe March of 2024, and I think it was out of shame. I felt bad that, without any notice, I’d abandoned the project and the people who cared about it. I don’t know if the site stayed intact (I know sometimes the images would vanish or the formatting would get all screwy) and I apologize if I let it become basically defunct in its final months.
The reason I’m giving such a dramatic and personal answer is because that project meant a lot to me, and if you’re asking about it almost 2 years after its last update, it probably meant something to you to. I was 15 when I started posting Cicero fanart, and 16 when I made the site, and it was the first time I’d ever really actively participated in fandom online. For that, I feel a real fondness looking back on botherandbefuddle. It was the first time I’d found community on the internet, so no wonder I got so emotionally attached to this thing.
I appreciate all of the people submitted art and writing for botherandbefuddle. I appreciate all of the people supported it in any way. And I appreciate you Anon for still caring. I never checked before today, but I was so touched to find so many people archived the site on the wayback machine. Though it feels like an artifact of the past to me, I would personally love to see a revival of the site. This ask made me investigate the Cicero tag for the first time in YEARS, and seeing his face made me want to get obsessed with him all over again. The longer I spend writing this response, the more I want to bring it back. I can’t give you a hard yes or no, but just know that you sending this ask definitely opened the door.
Thank you Anon for asking me this. This was probably x10 the answer you were expecting
