the long road ahead.
When she pulled away from the kiss, she closed her eyes and cried silently. She didn’t want to cry, but she wasn’t really able to hold it back. This was hard; giving up on something - well, at least for now- she truly wanted and had been working so hard for and for a long time too. She wanted to have a baby so she could take care of it and love it, and know that something depends on her. She thought it would help her depression, but at this point in not becoming successful, with a pregnancy, it’s just hurting her more.
Tate gently brought Violet closer to him, gently tracing patterns down her back with his finger He felt so bad; his words were why she was crying this much. “It’s not going to be forever, Vi,” Tate whispered, “We just need to be us again.” Tate didn’t know how to sooth his wife other than to tell her that they weren’t done trying forever. Tate looked down at Violet and smiled at her, thinking he had a way to cheer her up. “Hey, why don’t we go to the Chinese place down the street? I’m taking you on a date.”
His words didn't really sooth her. She wanted to tell him that they really could be done trying, because maybe she couldn't get pregnant, at all, but she didn't. She told herself she needed to stop thinking about it right now; it's time to focus on Tate and make him feel loved again. All this time she wanted to give her love and care to a baby but she completely forgot she had Tate to love and care for right now. Violet smiled slightly as she came to the realization of that. She shook her head, agreeing to go on a date, even though she hated eating big meals out in public
