Now that we’re approaching 20,000 notes I want to share what I’ve learned since this post first gained traction.

It is increasingly apparent that only a select minority of certain communities are willing to listen to this post and accept that bisexuality’s inclusivity and definition are not up for debate, and that this definition and inclusivity are not new to our community.

It is equally difficult to get through to people who have chosen Latin meanings over history, a hypocritical stance they don’t take up with words like gay or lesbian.

I’ve had more people deny this post’s truth than recognize it as history. I’ve spent hours having to reply to people who do not care about bisexuals than I have talking to people this post helped.

This post is not my opinion, it is a collection of sourced quotes. Despite this being stated over and over again, the content of this post is treated as discourse that is original and unique to my blog.

The only functional difference between bi and pan is that bi still leaves room for a preference. Not that there must be one, just that its open to one. Whereas pan is specifically no preference.

Preference is not inherent to any sexuality. I do not have a preference in gender and I know pansexuals who do.

It’s insulting for you to say that on this post considering I linked a whole study that said bisexuals don’t have an inherent preference in gender in the OP because I’ve had this exact conversation before and I wasn’t interested in repeating it.

The labels have no difference at all. None. Not even a little. Not even some weird sort of technicality. They’re the same label under different names. And if people keep trying to set bisexuals apart from pansexuals with these untrue blanket generalizations we’re never going to get along or come together as a community because in the end those separations just make bisexuals look bad and stereotype us.

Emily Gwen, who created the sunset/orange lesbian flag, is receiving threats and is having rumors spread about her. To be clear, this is not the pink flag or the flag with the lipstick mark, which was made by a biphobic and transphobic racist. It’s this flag:

Emily is trans inclusive and ace inclusive, as is her flag, and it always has been.

Her flag, the lesbian flag, was almost featured in the google pride doodle, up until the final draft. All because people told the heads of the project that she was transphobic and acephobic, and that her flag didn’t “deserve” to be featured, so they told the artist to get rid of that flag and put in a new one. Those things aren’t true. Emily believes in including everyone and has not participated in discourse for years now. The artist wishes he had known this, but in the end he didn’t have a choice and had to do what the heads told him.

Please stop spreading rumors and lies about her. She is a struggling human being. She has already had to quit so much social media and use a fake name because she is worried about being known due to how people treat her, and how they choose to believe lies over her.

Stop spreading rumors about the lesbian flag too. You have no right to judge what flag lesbians use, especially now that it’s literally bled into the mainstream that “lesbians don’t have any good flags because the creators are all horrible people so let’s just not use any for them!” Let lesbians have visibility. The rainbow flag doesn’t count. Keep in mind it’s the community flag, and that while most places don’t use the actual MLM flag the rainbow flag has always had the strongest association with gay men. Most people don’t even known Gilbert Baker made it for all of us.

And let Emily Gwen have some peace for once in her life, she is going through really terrifying and hard times right now with her family.

Stop harassing someone based on lies, and when she gives you truth, stop ignoring it and tell other people they’re misinformed.

Never forget that transmed “non-binary skeptics” who supposedly needed access to the bisexual history post sided with a cis truscum who was 1. Biphobic 2. Was transphobic towards non-binary people and 3. Was honestly entertained by my inability to handle the pressure of people telling me I’m the reason they hate being bi and are hesitant to come out

No they didn’t. The bi = asexual comes from Alfred Kinsey’s research because he didn’t include an option for NOT being attracted to anyone in the survey given to participants. It was either men, women, or both.

And if there’s no neither? What are you going to pick? So bisexuals and asexuals were roped together IN THE DATA. There is no historical evidence like photos that show that bisexual communities, which barely existed on their own up until the early to late seventies, ever included asexuality.

I know this because I had to debunk this two years ago. I read the full Kinsey report, even the part where they measured erectile responses to nude images.

I’m still answering asks privately but I want to give y’all some advice as the last post on here.

If you want to make a blog for discourse or history or something where you’re gonna get opposition, consider making it a whole separate account rather than a sideblog. You’ll be able to actually like, block users without having to message them, send asks without having turn on anon and write ‘from (url)’ after your message, and when you need to take a break you can fully separate all the discourse you follow and post about and just go back to blogging the way you do usually.

Like, I don’t want to leave this blog, but I really do need to remake it as a stand-alone account, where I can better control my interactions. It’s gonna be a bother being on mobile but ultimately it’ll be better that way. I’ll be back after the new year. I’m gonna take the rest of 2019 to just sort of chill, drink sparkling fruit juices, and eat little cheese cubes

You’re really going to call me an incel because I used the word chad? I’d laugh but that’s really, really sad. I’m not an incel. I’m in a stable relationship and have been going steady for years.

I didn’t tell people to kill themselves or to die. I told TERFs and truscum to choke. I didn’t suicide bait anyone. Y’all need to learn what suicide baiting is (directly telling a PERSON to kill themselves). Don’t give yourself too much stage with all this drama.

Telling a whole group of people who are disrespectful, hateful, or threatening to others to choke is not the same as people coming into my inbox to directly tell me to die, which is also not suicide baiting since they just want me to kick the bucket, but is certainly more individualized and directly addresses me as a person and not just me as a member of an ideology.

I don’t feel bad that I pissed off a bunch of people who think they should decide who and who isn’t trans or non-binary. I don’t feel bad that I pissed off truscum who “support” non-binary people because they’re followed by people who don’t and that’s exactly how this whole shitfit got started. And she’s very proud of it. She actually wants to take credit for the mental health issues I had last night and thinks I’m just some weak little snowflake bitch. So no, I was not gonna let truscum interact regardless of their stance on genders because they’ve got shitty followers and the fact that you’re here is proof enough that what I didn’t want to happen happened anyways. It was engaging while it lasted but I just don’t have the resilience to come back from the feeling I have seeing people in the notes saying I’m the reason they don’t want to come out or that I make them ashamed of being bisexual or that I’m the reason nobody takes us seriously. Infinitely a much worse feeling than anything else this whole thing has given me.

I will be leaving this side blog tomorrow. I’m not sure at this point. If you’d like to follow me if I remake this blog send me an ask with your url and I’ll make a list or something as well as give you my main on the chance that I keep that one.
