Rebirth;
@violetxmp
Davina had always been a plant hoarder, but with her own place, the need and drive to own more and more foliage grew tremendously. Lately, she had stopped by a local flower shop on a nearly weekly basis, looking around for another plant that called her named. Often, her heart was pulled at the sight of a dying succulent or fern in the deep need of some pruning. While the shop did well to tend to plants, those who slipped the cracks successful grabbed her attention each time she came.
Today, a poor aloe vera plant seemed to be suffering from some root rot, and she had been walking the store around with the pot nestled lovingly to her chest. She knew she did not need another plant, and even as she held one too many, she looked to see if she spot any others that needed a loving home with one of her friends.
Not long into her leisured search, she heard the sound of a voice calling to her. Davina, peering around some leaves, called out gently to the voice’s source. “Hmm? Where are you?”
“Some…uh,” her eyes scanned the room full of flowers, vases and pots, her special little oasis of plants, “oh wait… Didn’t I have some left?” Violet’s face lit up with a smile as she took the last few dusty blue Hydrangeas out of a vase in the corner. She was talking to nobody in particular, a habit she seemed to have inherited from her aunt. It wasn’t like somebody would be there to listen, anyway, right?
At this time of the year, not many people visited the shop, save for a few plant-lovers that discovered the beautiful floral world and whom she always tried to attend as soon as they would step through the door. They were her kind of people.
This time, though, she seemed to be way more preoccupied with the flower arrangement that she wanted to display in the shop window to even notice anybody walk in. Thus, the demigoddess stood in her little back room, adding the finishing touches to the pastel bouquet that sprouted pinks, soft blues, lilacs, and whites, unaware of Davina’s presence.
Violet was generally oblivious to her surroundings most of the time, so it didn’t come as a shock when she realized that she wasn’t alone after hearing a sweet voice call out from the main room. With the vase in her arm, filled with the fruits of her labor for the past thirty minutes, she maneuvered herself through the shelves and displays of various types of Flora to find the source of the spoken words.
“Oh, sorry, were you waiting a long time?” an apologetic smile sat on her lips as she heaved the vase onto the counter in front and walked over to the young girl. Violet recognized her—she was a loyal customer of hers who always seemed to have a plant in her hand.
“Are you looking for something in particular?”
betrayal sentence starters edit as you see fit
what did they mean when they said ‘i can’t trust you’?
for months? you’ve been putting me through this for months?
how can you come back and even look me in the eye after all you’ve done
you didn’t mean that, right? please tell me you didn’t mean that
you swore you wouldn’t leave, you promised
after everything we’ve been through? seriously?
did i ever even know you?
please don’t do this, you’re all i’ve left
it wasn’t like that, it was us against you from the beginning
i was never on your side to begin with, don’t you get that?
but i’m doing this for you, for us, doesn’t that count for anything?
i know what you did, don’t even try
wait, how do you know about that
was it you? did you tell them? did you tell them the one thing i begged you not to?
i trusted you with my life, i trusted you with everything i had!
fuck, i regret ever having even met you
so, it was all a lie? nothing of what we went through mattered to you?
you could have stabbed me at least a thousand times before this, why now?
why didn’t you just kill me when you had the chance, huh?
did you have fun? did you enjoy yourself, pretending to be my friend?
i don’t want to hear it, i don’t care why you did it
we took you in, we cared for you, and this is what you were after the entire time?
i should have listened when they told me to stay away from you
the people i cared about… gone, all because of you and some stupid plan
you don’t get it, this is the only way, okay?
maybe if you learnt how to prioritise better, you would actually understand why i had to do this
i never meant to hurt you, it may have been a lie at first, but please, you have to believe me
tell me i imagined you leaving, tell me none of this happened and i’ll believe you
i’d rather die than be stuck with a traitor any moment longer
we all depended on you, how could you do this to us?
is it my fault you trust so foolishly and willingly?
i’m sorry, i know it’s meaningless now, but please, know i’m sorry
you’ll understand one day, you’ll understand i never actually meant to hurt you
you don’t even look dejected, do you enjoy playing with other people’s lives?
you took everything from me, you fucking bastard
i wish i’d have killed you when they told me to
you’re meant for so much more, why cry when you could join me?
i had to make you trust me, you would have never come this far, otherwise
there are far bigger things at stake here than your broken heart
why do you even care so much? you were using me just the same!
so i was right about you after all, i’m glad i never fully trusted you
you know what? you’re nothing more than a lesson to me now, so fuck off
so, now that we’re here, think you can tell me what you’re really after?
Daylily | Izanami & Violet
starter for @mpxizanami
Teeth dug themselves deep into the flesh of her lower lip and she wished to turn back time to the beginning of the day. Why didn’t she write a list? Or at least to questions to go off of? She knew this day would be coming—this was the main reason why she came to Mount Phoenix after all.
Questions flooded her mind and threatened to drown out her own voice. Violet knew those were for her mother and the universe to answer. Still, the knot in her stomach grew with every second, as if to tell the young girl to do something instead of standing on the sidewalk next to the building. Heavy legs carried her over the threshold and finally into the establishment, with only minutes to spare until it would be closed for the night.
It wasn’t exactly the best time or place to meet one’s own mother for the first time, but then again, Violet wasn’t sure if there ever was something that would come close to ideal. She has recently found out about Izanami’s residence on the island and with a little snooping and the right questions, the demigoddess could mark her down at a place called ‘Halo, Salon & Spa’
Heavy legs carried her over the threshold of the entrance, nervousness turned into excitement and her eyes set on the only being in the building who could be a goddess. It wasn’t the way she looked or the way she spoke, it was an aura that seemed to fill the room and made her presence known. Then again, maybe it might be the connection between a daughter and a mother. Or maybe, Violet realized, her nerves were playing a trick on her. Whatever it was, it was calling out for the demigoddess. Without even realizing it, her legs were moving towards the goddess, as if in a trance.
“Ex-...” Violet cleared her throat instinctively when she heard how crooked and unsure her voice sounded. “Excuse me, are you Izanami?” The question, she knew, was redundant, but the demigoddess had to be absolutely doubt-free before she would allow herself to proceed. “My name is Violet.”

The Move
Starter for @mpxtheo
It takes a move to find out how much stuff one truly has and unfortunately she had to learn that the hard way. Violet tried her best to only pack the necessary things she would need for her first weeks at Mount Phoenix. She never imagined it to eventually tower over her admittedly small frame. The pile of boxes, bags, and backpacks that were being pulled out of the taxi made her question how she ever managed to fit it all in the first place. She knew a lot of it was clothes and precious trinkets, but in hindsight, she maybe didn’t need all of it. Her knees felt weak when she pulled out the heavy bucket of paint out of the trunk and thanked the driver for his help as he muttered a rushed ‘Bye’ and drove off.
Feelings of regret bubbled inside of her as she turned to the pillar of her belongings. ‘Why didn’t I leave more things behind?’ It wasn’t like it would get lost or thrown out. It would only be a little less accessible for her. So did she really require all of her hair clips, vases, all of her houseplants—even the big ones? Perhaps not, but to be fair, now that she was already here, it didn’t really matter either.
A strange mixture of excitement, worry, and joy now dominated her thoughts. Was this the right move? Would she be able to find what she is looking for here? How fast would she make friends? Wouldn’t it be exciting to meet new people and learn more about her heritage and find others that are just like her? Would they like her? What if she would find her?
Her gaze lifted upwards as realization finally hit her and she properly looked at the building she was standing in front of. “Magical.” The words were a mere whisper, said to nobody in particular. ‘Yes,’ she thought, ‘this is perfect.’ It took her a bit but she eventually found her apartment and squealed in glee when she looked around and saw how beautiful everything looked. The view, the furniture, the bed. It was much more than she had hoped to find and as if the mere look of gave her energy, she ran back out again to grab even more boxes.
To be fair, she knew as soon as she heaved the bulky bag onto the already large box that it would be more than she could carry, but that didn’t stop her from trying. Her eyes were glued to the unsteady bag atop that was only an unfortunate gust of wind away from slipping. Arms, not fit to carry this much, leaned the carton against her own body and legs wobbly from the weight took small, sideways steps. Violet wanted to be able to see where she was going and minimize the risk of the bag toppling over forwards. But as it turns out, she was too preoccupied with keeping her balance to watch the path ahead. So much so, that she didn’t even register anybody walking in her vicinity until it was much too late.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry—I didn’t see you there, I’m so sorry.” she turned to look at the unfortunate soul she ran into, not realizing that brushes and painting trays were scattered on the surrounding ground. “I’m so sorry,” she apologized again, not really sure what else she could say at the moment. “Are you okay?”
