Sayo was walking through the garden of the Sakamaki mansion, enjoying the time to herself amidst the roses.

But to her surprise, she spotted a small figure a short distance ahead of her. For a moment, she was confused as to what a child was doing at the mansion, but soon recognized the familiar face. She hadn't seen him in quite some time.

"Kauze...? Is that you?"

The little boy ran up to Sayo and jumped on her, hugging her tightly.

— Sayo! You’re here! How cool!

The little boy let go of her and smiled excitedly. Kauze was now living with Shin and Carla, but that didn’t stop him from visiting his friends.

— Did you know I grew 5 centimeters? I’m taller now!

He stood on his tiptoes and puffed out his chest, completely convinced.

At first, she was surprised by the sudden hug, but quickly hugged the boy in return before he let go of her.

"What a nice surprise! It's been so long..."

She surveyed him as he tried to make himself taller. Surely he must have grown some, even if it wasn't five centimeters.

"Yes, you do look taller," she giggled.

"Did you come to visit the Sakamakis...? I do remember you saying back when we met at the Mukami manor that you were friends with them too..."

— Yes! Dad said I could come today! I miss my friends. I bet if I make a really cute face, Reiji will cook something really tasty.

He smiled excitedly, but then gave a little hop and scratched his head in confusion. After all, he knew that the Sakamakis and the Mukamis weren’t exactly known for “sharing.”

— But hey! What are you doing here? Weren’t you living with the Mukamis?

"Fufu...I'm sure he will."

The idea of Reiji caving to the whims of a child was intriguing. She wondered which boys had a soft spot for him.

"Ah, well...as to why I'm here, it's a bit of a long story. But to keep it short, Kou and I aren't together anymore. I'm living here now because of that."

Kauze’s eyes widened. The little boy let out a small laugh, but quickly covered his mouth with his tiny hands, trying to hide it. It was no secret to anyone that he wasn’t Kou’s number one fan. But he also knew he couldn’t be that insensitive at such a moment.

— Puff... I mean! Oh no, I’m so sorry!

He placed his little hand on his forehead.

She caught the little laugh from the boy, but couldn't bring herself to be upset with him.

"Ah...Aha...It's alright, I don't mind you laughing. I know you didn't like him. I was the one who broke up with him, so it's okay. We just...weren't going to work. I didn't want to stay like that."

— Ohh… Are you okay, Sayo? Normally when adults break up, they get sad and eat a lot of candy.

He said with a bit of confusion, but quickly flashed a mischievous smile.

— Hey! I know a prince! He’s tall, strong, handsome… and he’s single. Why don’t you date him? That way you’ll become a princess

"I'm okay, you're sweet to worry about me."

She leaned down, petting the boy's head.

"I was sad, but I'm okay now. It's a little chaotic here...it's distracting at the very least fufu..."

The comment about Kauze knowing a prince sparked her curiosity. She certainly didn't need such a thing and had no desire to become a princess, but she did want to know what he meant.

"A prince? You know someone like that, Kauze?"

The little boy smiled and placed his small cold hands into Sayo’s.

— I do know him! He’s really kind! And his brother is even kinder!

Then he puffed out his chest proudly.

— And I’m a prince too! My daddy is the King of the Founders!

The boy smoothed down his hair, trying to look at least a little presentable for such a title.

— Do you want to come with me to say hi to my prince friend?

“You’re a prince too?”

“Wow, I had no idea I knew someone so important…”

Even if Sayo was half Founder, she had little knowledge of her race. She had to admit she was a bit curious. The Sakamakis surely would be upset to find out she left without saying anything, but they would most likely stop her if she said she was leaving with Kauze. That would just be a pain.

“I’ll probably be scolded for running off without saying anything….but yes, I am interested in meeting them.”

— Yes, I am!

He placed his little hand on his hip, beaming with pride.

— My papa is the First Blood King. So that makes me a prince!

He gave a little excited hop, but soon grabbed her hand and began pulling her toward the exit.

— Let’s go! Let’s go!

After a few minutes, they arrived at a simple flower shop in pastel tones. It was cozy, with beautiful flower arrangements on several shelves. But what caught their attention the most were two men sitting on the sofa at the back of the store.

— But how can you be sure that no one is trapped inside that device?

Daisuke frowned, holding Hiro’s phone. The prince had never seen such an object in his life. Many things had changed since he had woken from his vegetative state.

— No one is trapped. I swear…

Hiro smiled gently, trying to explain to his brother, even though he didn’t fully understand the phone himself. He only knew that sometimes it made sounds, and Ayato’s voice would come out of it.

Then he heard footsteps. The viper quickly stood up and walked toward the entrance of the flower shop.

— Kauze… what a lovely surprise. How are you?

He smiled at the little Founder but soon noticed the girl beside him. Hiro’s cheeks flushed slightly.

— A-Ah… Forgive me, miss. I… I hadn’t noticed you. Can I help you with something?

Sayo glanced around in awe of the flower shop, still being led by Kauze’s hand. She enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and simply enjoyed flowers in general, so it was quite charming to her.

As she leaned over to admire one of the flower arrangements on the shelf beside her, a voice called out.

A pink haired man was now standing there in front of them. He appeared to be pleasantly surprised to see Kauze but then a bit flustered when he noticed her.

“Um..hi. Sorry for intruding. I’m Kauze’s friend, Makina Sayori, but please call me Sayo. I came with him for a visit.”

She noticed his nails, which were perfectly long and manicured.

“Oh wow…! Your nails are so pretty! I’m the worst, I can’t keep mine even painted for the life of me.”

— Hiro!!

The little boy jumped onto the viper and hugged him tightly.

— Hiro! Hiro! Is Daisuke here? Did you make sweets today?

The little boy asked, completely excited. Then he ran to the back of the flower shop and threw himself onto the prince.

— Daisuke! Come meet my friend!

Hiro smiled a little shyly as Kauze jumped onto him. He gave a gentle peck on the little blonde head, and before he could respond, the boy had already run over to Daisuke. Then he looked at Sayo and blushed slightly.

— Oh… Thank you very much, Miss Sayo… I’m glad you liked it… I… I really liked your hair… It’s very full and healthy.

He smiled timidly. Then footsteps could be heard—Daisuke had appeared, holding Kauze in one arm. He looked at Sayo and smiled warmly, making a small gesture as he took her hand and placed a light kiss on it, as he does with all the ladies he meets.

— Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you~

Sayo watched, amused as Kauze jumped on Hiro and then ran off.

"Such a cute kid..." she giggled under her breath.

Her own cheeks flushed slightly as well in response to the compliment from Hiro.

"Ah...thank you, I appreciate it. It's so long it can be a pain sometimes, but I'm not really interested in cutting it."

Her attention was pulled to the footsteps coming from behind Hiro. The man was holding Kauze. She couldn't help but feel the child must be loved by practically everyone he meets considering he was so friendly with everyone she knew.

"Oh...!" Her cheeks flushed as Daisuke placed a kiss on her hand.

"Um, hello...It's nice to meet you as well. Your flower shop is wonderful. It's so pretty..."

She fiddled her fingers together, glancing between the two.

"Kauze said you were both Founders too...?"

The little boy smiled and gave Daisuke a small kiss on the cheek, right over one of the prince’s scars.

— Oh! I don’t think I explained it very well — they’re not Founders! They’re from the Viper Clan…!

He hugged Daisuke even tighter.

Daisuke and Hiro swallowed hard. Being compared to the Founders was not a pleasant thing for them—especially for Daisuke, who had suffered greatly at the hands of that clan.

— Haha… No, I think Kauze really didn’t explain it well… I am Daisuke Lachesis, prince of the Viper Clan.

He explained gently, adjusting Kauze in his arms, slightly averting his face from the kiss on his scar. After all, he was in that state because of Shin, who happened to be Kauze’s adoptive uncle. That made it a little strange for him, even if he knew Kauze wasn’t to blame for anything that had happened.

Hiro, on the other hand, fidgeted with his fingers rather timidly, feeling a bit anxious standing beside people he didn’t know very well.

— Miss Sayo… I baked cookies. Would you like one?

Kauze Story.

Chapter 6: Shu.

— Shu! — I hugged him. — Do you want some chocolate too?

He didn't say anything, just placed a hand on my shoulder, as if he was hugging me too, but only with one arm.

— I don't want you hanging out with him. — Shu said in a serious tone to me. — He will certainly cause problems.

— Ha Ha, very funny. — Ren rolled his eyes. — As if you were a good example for him.

I just stared at them, I think Ren really doesn't like Shu, or maybe any Sakamaki.

— Come on Kauze. I am tired.

Shu then grabbed my arm and started pulling me away, with my free hand I waved to Ren, saying goodbye to him.

— Bye Ren!

Shu then stopped halfway, looking at me with a confused look, he sighed heavily and bent down to my height.

— I know what you did. This time I won't do anything, but I don't want you to get into trouble, especially because of other people. — Shu then stood up. — Imagine how seriously problematic if someone saw you, I would have to take responsibility.

He yawned, I shook my head in confusion and followed him, until we finally arrived in a room, there were some musical instruments, but I had no skills with them.

— Shu, I promise I'll never make a fuss again... Could you keep it a secret? Please...

— Hu~ Who knows, if you do me a favor, I promise I won't tell anyone what you did.

— Same?! So what do I have to do?!

— I haven't thought about it yet, but I will keep in mind that you are willing to do something in exchange for my silence.

— Ohh... It just can't be anything too scary... — I said worriedly, not knowing what Shu wanted made me a little uncomfortable. — Huhh...

I sighed with relief, but there was something that made me a little curious, why was Shu always alone and sleeping? Mainly sleeping in super weird places. I sat next to him, taking a chocolate out of my pocket and eating it.

— Because I like my own company.

— Hey! It's not worth it! You have to say something else!

— Hah, you're annoying, why don't you eat that chocolate and take a nap too? Tomorrow you have to go to your school, and Reiji won't like it if you sleep in class.

— You're right... I hope to make friends there.

—Humans are fragile, Kauze. You'd better not get involved with them.

— Does not matter. Just listen to me and don't do anything stupid.

— Ren said that if someone was mean to me, he would defend me. Kind of like a super hero!

— You're a vampire, you can defend yourself.

Shu was right, he was already being really nice just being with me, I shouldn't provoke him, maybe I should find another trainer. I rested my head on his arm.

— Good night Shu! I hope you have sweet dreams and you could too... Hmmm!

He then put his hand over my mouth, preventing me from finishing speaking. With his free hand, he brought his index finger to his lips.

— Stay quiet.

I nodded my head in agreement and he then removed his hand from my mouth, I smiled awkwardly, I was going to apologize, but as he asked for silence, I preferred not to say anything, I just closed my eyes and sighed, trying to fall asleep, the which was a little difficult to do when you're on the floor, I hugged Shu's arm, as if it were a huge pillow, I stayed like that for a while, until I finally fell asleep.

Some interesting facts about the story I'm writing about Kauze.

It will be divided into two parts.

Kauze isn't the only OC in the story.

It will have characters of different nationalities.

Kauze will have vampire-age friends and child friends.

He will make friends with adult/teenage humans.

Founder Friends!

Of course, Kauze would eventually meet Shin and Carla, and logically he was happy to meet other founders like him, the little boy is happy to be able to learn more about himself and his race.

Shin and Carla are certainly happy to find another founder too, to continue their clan.

To honor his new friends, Kauze decided to draw a picture of both of them, and he included wolves, of course.

— Daisuke! Wake up! Wake up! Santa Claus forgot about me! I ran to my sock and it was empty... He didn't even bother to add charcoal!

Kauze cried and cried, he had used his founding powers to leave the Sakamaki mansion and go to Hiro's house, but ended up finding Daisuke sleeping in the guest room.

The prince didn't know that Christmas was a festive date, in fact he didn't even know what Christmas was, he just came to the human world to be with his brother, and ended up sleeping at his brother's house, but he got a big scare when the smell of founder invaded the room, especially when screams were made, he woke up in despair.

—Kauze! They never taught you that that's not how you wake up a prince? — he grumbled. — And who is Santa Claus? And what's the problem with coal, I don't understand.

He yawned, what time was it? He looked at the clock and saw that it was almost four o'clock in the morning.

— You have to be crazy Kauze, did you come here at this time to tell me this? Do you know the danger you could have been in if you had come here walking?... Now let me sleep.

The last few days were complete chaos, besides the ball going super wrong for Cassie and Hiro, the viper prince wasn't feeling very well, perhaps because he had “fought” more than he should have, now, he had to follow an order from the people who cared about him, who was keeping him still so he could recover.

— Uh, you know, I'm not in a vegetative state to “rest” anymore. — He grumbled to Cassie, but was soon surprised when she snuggled up to him. — Hehe, you're not going to bite me, are you?

He played with her, but soon brought his hand to her strands of blonde hair and began to caress her.

— You're better, aren't you? My father said those horrible things, but he won't do anything to you, you can be sure of that.

After nights terrorized, enclosed in her little house, only allowing the company of White, she decided to get outside to let her skin feel over the sunshine. Her feet walking to the city guided her to the Hiro's shop, where her nose would be able to smell the flowers. The flowers' smell was a link to her first happy place, which she needed to get back from time to time.

Eye bags showing her restless state, eery expression and low steps, enhancing her sickness image. Her head, consumed by the need to off her emotions made the sun in herself get shaded by clouds. The ring of the bell, and her eyes looked at the man sat in the shop's sofa.

She nodded her head, not full believing his presence in place. Perhaps she thought that after that party everything was over and he wouldn't never be able to go outside anymore. But there he was, in a piece! She walked towards him in silence, dominated by a strong feeling she could barely hold. She took sit aside him, hugging him, and nuzzling against his neck, not giving a 'hi' or any word, not a sound. She felt the cold embrace like something she both needed and didn't deserve. Even the smell of the flowers shadowed by the gesture. Leaning her body on his, feeling his hands holding her body back, she felt in a way safe and protected. As needy as she was for kind and not judgemental contact, she shamelessly enjoyed the feeling and warmed up his body.

His words made her look up “Bite... you? I think I am not allowed to do so...” she softly mumbled knowing that such a gesture was more meaningful than playful. Still her eyes looked at his and showed sadness. “I believe in you, but I do not trust your father... and honestly... I am not right... I have been feeling terrible” she confessed, burying her face on his chest.
