“hmmm . . .” lady light hummed at the comment. “if you put it that way,” she continued with a small shrug. “i do hope that at one point in the night we are not asked to be unmasked hence the whole feast being . . . freeing would be useless, would it be not? the anonymity gone and faces beneath the veils exposed. there is no such thing as anonymity. the truth comes out either way.” that was why ceren chose to remain in the sidelines, observing and noting everything around her, hoping to one day use such vital information — plus, it was more amusing.
The lady's remark caused her to pause for a time, pondering whether or not unmasking was a possibility for the night. To be honest, she had no idea what was going on, or if there were any surprises planned to make the celebration more memorable. Though, if they all removed their masks at the end of the night, it wouldn't be so horrible. Yes, she was enjoying her anonymity among them, but don't all good things come to an end? "I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens," Naerys said. "However, I expect this to be remembered for a long time. Masquerade balls aren't quite common."
