faithfulreplica:
Yoru hadn’t noticed any sounds out of the ordinary. He’d been too busy focusing on the vows. And focusing on kissing Sora. His husband. Formal exchange of rings and vows and all. No one could seperate the two of them now.
The gasping and the sudden flock of birds was enough to make him actually break off from what was probably a bit much for a wedding kiss (so help him he didn’t care, it was Sora) and… stop and stare. That… was a deer. That was not a normal deer. That was a very large and definitely magical deer. With a fox…
…So that was where Yuki had gotten off too. Which meant that this was… definitely a god, then? Yuki had mentioned something about being a divine servant of some sort. Which meant he really had to make a good first impression.
And without any other ideas, Yoru broke the embrace he’d been enjoying maybe a bit too much for a wedding (he was just so happy, okay?) and bowed deeply. Gods should always be respected, always. He felt a bit bad for not sending an invitation proper, but the god was welcome at his wedding.
Sora was just as surprised as everyone else, his jaw unintentionally dropping as he looked upon the deer that had made their way towards them. He recognized the white fox that had puffed out their fur to try to look just as regal as the deer they were resting on.
I told you Yuki would probably make a big entrance-
I can hear you, you know. A voice spoke in his mind, the familiar tone of Yuki’s voice as the kitsune seemed to develop an almost smug expression on their face. This is a serious occasion, little dragon. Don’t just stand there with your jaw almost reaching the floor.
Sora looked on with wide eyes, feeling Yoru pull away from his embrace. He quickly stood up straight and gave a formal bow to the majestic deer before them. Yuki you mentioned you were serving a deity but you never said they were a giant deer!
Well, it wouldn’t be a surprise then, would it?
A deer is simply how I choose to appear.
Somehow the deer managed to smirk. She could see why Yuki liked this dragon. And it was typical dragon behavior, stealing royal heirs. Just usually not in this sense.
Really, the whole thing was quite clever.
Yoru bowing back was the correct response the human could have made and banished any lingering doubts she may have had. The human deserved a gift indeed. The surrounding wildlife were all waiting with held breaths, a sight that had her chuckling to herself as she set to work.
She bowed back, the no doubt awkward looking movements of her thin leg somehow continuing to look majestic. With her nose she leaned out and nudged the prince’s shirt up, resting her nose on the skin of his stomach as she closed her eyes.
I have heard many good things about you, Prince Yoru. You are loved by not just your human subjects, but by those who call the forests, the plains, the rivers of your land their home.
And so, as the first human to impress me in a very long time, you have earned the gift of a blessing. May you bare many healthy and strong heirs with hearts as kind as your own.
