Thought I may put out my thoughts about the new chapter.
(I have not done the weird route or secret boss stuff yet.)
overall, its probably my favorite chapter of Deltarune so far.(It is possible that with some time to sit on it, I may like chapter 4 more, but i feel comfortable calling it my favorite for now)
it is probably the funniest chapter, and also has incredible and very unexpected gameplay elements. On top of this, it still is able to punch you in the gut far more than the game so far.
As for what it changed for the plot, I still feel about the same way as I did going in to the chapter for the broad strokes(December is the knight, Kris is secretly undermining the plan of the knight/carol group, etc)
Not surprising for Deltarune but the music is amazing. the Garden of Hopes and Dreams is a major standout of the game.
probably the biggest problem that I have with it is that some of the puzzles are a bit bullshit(the block puzzle with the foxes comes to mind).
The Ace Attorney section slaps. I may make a separate post just covering the costumes. I think they are neat.
before this chapter, I was hesitant to say that Ralsei being trans was going to happen, but now I can't see a way that it is not at least brought up.
I think that the tone more or less matches, and I can see the characters trying to be more positive after the roller coaster ride that they were put through in chapter 4, and I can see the ways the story makes this impossible in further chapters.
overall, great chapter. Aqua is the greatest character conceived by humanity.
