So basically I started this blog on a whim a little bit ago and honestly thought I’d get nowhere with it since I’ve never actually played Derek before. I had a hard time getting him down at first, but I just wanted to come out and say thank you to those who’ve stuck with me and those who continue to follow me even now. I appreciate every single one of you and seriously think you are completely amazing in every way ever.

         no.

                    no.

         this isn’t happening. this cannot be happening. derek is lying to him, this isn’t real — so what if derek disappears for hours at a time without notice, without meaning. it doesn’t mean he’s cheating on stiles, he must be kidding.

"You’re lying." stiles says quietly, but there’s no trust in the words. no trust in himself for not believing derek or for believing him all that time ago when stiles’ first inkling of suspicion had creeped in and planted its seeds in his mind.

               they’ve been together for years, married, working on adopting a child for christ’s sake. this doesn’t make sense. his head is cradled in his hands and he shakes it in denial so palpable it must be smothering for derek.

                why would derek cheat on him? he had promised he wasn’t. 

                       their relationship has always been so — so strong. they’ve been through everything together. they’ve faced death and conquered evil both against them and within them and — and they were supposed to come out on top.

                 not like this.

                        they were meant to float, not sink. not be engulfed by flames.

             hot tears stream down his face and stiles wishes he had never let derek into his life in the first place. 

               ”Get out. Please. Please get out.”

these words are essentially a knife to the heart, twisting in and pressing further and further.

                   what had he expected, really, when allowing lydia into his life in the romantic sense he had desired since they had first met all those years ago? he was never going to be good enough for her. he knew that. so what was all of this? wishful thinking at its finest?

                             stiles was… a plain, ordinary rock, and lydia was the most beautiful jewel in a world full of gems that paled in comparison. on what alternate plane would this equation have come out positive? it wasn’t possible.

they were doomed from the start.

never mind the fact that they had slowly been working their ways towards something good, something friendly. 

only fools rush in.

                         he can’t even bring himself to look at her. 

                                 he can’t do anything but stand.

                                              and walk away.

             ( rejection is nothing he isn’t used to — but this is a pain far worse. )
