“Fighting the good fight isn’t about please and thank you, when was the last time someone thanked Buffy for saving the world?” Angel countered, but why was he even trying? “But thank you, Cordelia; for helping us.” She was getting there, and at least she was helping anyway. “Let’s get these back to Giles before I have to go back, like you said the sun is coming up soon.” 

“God, whatever. You two are so touchy about this life or death stuff. You’d think it was life or death.” she didn’t question him before following, which maybe she should have because Angel was known to go all Kill Bill at times, “I’m just saying, it’s nice to be nice.” as if she would know, “You guys really take us human-types for granted. I mean, when was the last time any of you cooked a meal? If it wasn’t for Xander going on doughnut runs, Giles would literally never eat.”

Angel always appreciated the way that Cordelia could make everything about her. “The creatures of the night don’t exactly care about your sleeping schedule.” The vampire reminded her, “Magic herbs, for what?”

“Well, if by ‘creatures of the night’ you mean one Buffy the Beauty Sleep Slayer, then yeah. It’s not like I’m even all that broken up about losing sleep on a school night, because studying wasn’t going to happen, anyway. It’s the way she just passes everyone else off as her little helpers. Ok, so she’s got evil to vanquish. She can’t make time for ‘please’ and ‘thank you’?” she sighed and looked at the bag in her hand, “Beats me. All I know about these herbs is that they’re potent, as in stinky.”

Angel glanced up at the window, “I guess it is.” He had just gotten out of a very interesting conversation with Faith, maybe he had lost track of time. “I just- What are you doing here? It’s almost dawn, shouldn’t you be at home?” 

“Like anybody keeps normal hours anymore? I mean it’s great that Buffy’s out there saving the world and everything, but would it kill her not to mess up everyone else’s sleep schedule? I’m running an errand for Giles.” she lifted up a neatly tied paper lunch sack and dangled it in the air, “I’m Magical Herbs Girl.”

"Wesley,” Cordelia beamed as she entirely butted right into the middle of a conversation Wesley was having with a real adult. In fact, the only adult at The Bronze. Had he chosen a life of no fun, or something? It never crossed her mind that he might be looking for one of the slayers, or that there might be an emergency. She not so gently tapped the woman he’d been talking to out of frame with her hip, “I saw you over here all by yourself and thought you could do with some saving. What brings you out here where the fun is?”

It can’t be all apocalypse, all the time. So, what was life like on an average day in Sunnydale, California? This alternate season three diverges from canon after Revelations and follows the day-to-day lives of the mostly teenaged superheroes trying to balance the horrors of high school with the slightly less horrific Hellmouth. Shopping, dating, partying, homework and the occasional big, brewin’ evil!

Admin Notes: This is not a big-plot verse. We have too many of those, this is a just-for-fun verse with no real direction. There will be events, plot drops and big bads but we strive to be a stress-free verse! The one big change in season three plot will be that Wesley, not Gwendolyn Post, arrived in Revelations to take over as Faith’s watcher. We actively encourage use of NPCs like Principal Snyder, Joyce Summers, Willy the Snitch, Scott Hope, Mayor Wilkins, Mr. Trick, random vampires and demons.

Rules: Absolutely zero drama/don’t be a dick. Track the tag ( slayerfest98 ). Be at least somewhat active – somewhat, for us, is two IC posts per month, per character. We might diverge but this is still a canon verse, so please contact either @slayalive or @thatslayer before any big, divergent or OOC plots.
