Vanya: Suffered through years of isolation from her siblings and the abuse she faced due to R*ginalds fear of her and manipulation into her believing she was ordinary. Gets manipulated later in life at the cost of people’s lives.

Ben: Had a power even his father feared. Had to see some really fucked up shit such as a man literally being torn in half as shown in the bank scene. Is dead.

Five: Alone for a majority of his life in an apocalyptic wasteland, devoid of any human life but himself.

Klaus: Forced to stay in a mausoleum and see the dead because his father wanted him to get over his completely rational fear of the dead and ghosts his power made him see. As a result of that, he began abusing drugs at an obvious young age while no one in the family even tried to stop him before it became a full blown addiction or anything. Lost the one man he claimed to have truly loved in war, and has a lot of PTSD due to the whole situation.

Allison: Struggling with her divorce at the time of the show, and especially struggling with not having custody over her daughter who is the most important person in the world to her. Grew up using her power to get everything she wanted, as she wasn’t taught otherwise and it ended up greatly impacting her future.

Diego: Lost Eudora and was accused of her murder. Constantly stuck being overshadowed by Luther. Clearly very close with Grace and struggled about her death greatly.

Luther: Belived and trusted in his father so much that he lived in solitude on the moon for four years and thought he was making his father proud when in reality Reggie didn’t give a single fuck. Raised to believe he was superior because of his fathers obvious favouritism. Because of this he believes he has to be number one constantly.

No this isn’t a joke about “dad sent me to the moon” because as funny as it is and as annoying as Luther can be, the shit he went through is just as valid as the others. This in no way means a lot of the shit he pulled is justified, because it isn’t. But making fun of his own trauma as if he didn’t go through shit too is kinda shitty.
