Ayumu let out a small cough. It wasn’t much, but given his fragility, it was enough to give his often stoic mother a scare. He was smaller than most newborns, and there was a lot of concern whether or not he’d last away from his parents. 

Either way, the boy breathed softly, seeming to be snoozing as he usually would. At first there were concerns Ayumu was blind given how little he’d open his eyes, but when he did, those brown pupils seemed eager to explore his surroundings, especially when his mother was nearby.
