guys i’ve been having so many thoughts about how planet personification and aging actually work in solarballs.
sooooo, from what i gather, when stars or gas giants are born, they wake up instantly as kids and grow up over time (just like we saw with jupiter, the other gas giants, and the sun).
but with rocky planets, it feels a bit different. it seems like they need time to form and "marinate" before waking up, so that when they finally open their eyes, they’re already closer to their teens (like mars)
then there’s earth. he woke up as a teenager right after forming. maybe it’s because he was made from two colliding objects that were already somewhat "mature"? let’s say that's the case.
but then again, what about rocky planets/dwarfs like pluto and charon? didn't they like, wake up instantly and stay as kids who grew up together over time?
i also wanted to talk about moons. they only seem to wake up after they start orbiting a planet. imo, life in the solarballs universe triggers when an object starts to actually matter to someone else. like, it stops being just a random asteroid and becomes an individual. after a few years of this, they get a personality and everything. (this probably happened to captured asteroids like phobos and deimos. does this mean Guillermo could come to life too? honestly, yeah)
this also kinda explains the whole dark side of the moon situation. he’s not just moon's coping mechanism, but a literal second consciousness. it probably happened because moon had no one to talk to and started heavily relying on this imaginary friend (back when he couldn't hang out with the planets). if that’s true, it’s heartbreaking. it means dark was literally created because earth ignored his moon. i feel so bad for him, especially rn since the only person who knew him can finally talk to others, leaving dark feeling completely useless.
well, didn't expect to go this deep but yeah, here are my thoughts (◕‿◕)
let me know in the comments if i missed anything!
