Doing my morning walk at the City of Golden Friendship
CM Recto avenue Cagayan de Oro City. Westbound road already open (January 2016). As of today, the Eastbound road is currently under construction. Hopefully it would solve the flood problems in area.
I normally don’t eat at Chowking, but since I wanted to take a picture of the newly opened road at CM Recto Avenue (Bitan-ag bridge), I was forced to LOL, then I realized that it was not bad after all.
This road in picture is near the creek in CM Recto. This is a flood prone area, hope the renovation would prevent it.
My view during my stay with my family at Limketkai Luxe Hotel
Gaisano City and Mall. Before Limketkai Mall, SM and Ayala malls, Gaisano was the popular Mall in the City during the 90s. Its competitor was Ororama Mega Center (Puregold Cagayan de Oro location now)
The City of Golden Friendship (Taken from High Ridge)
Here are some of the old photos of Cagayan de Oro City (Cagayan de Misamis). Found these photos in Facebook (I don’t own it)
Now and Then: Ysalina Bridge (former Carmen Bridge)
Now and Then: Divisoria Cagayan de Oro. Photo was taken in the opposite side of the other.
Now and then: Marcos bridge 2011 vs 1978. Gone the coconut trees and here come the billboards..
Photo was taken February 12, 2011 before sendong hit CDO City. Island the middle of the river still have a lot of trees. After sendong, the island was a bit damaged. The left side of the city is Puntod while the otherside is Kauswagan.
The guys in the photo is doing a manual quarry.
This is how CM recto Avenue look before the flyover was made. Photo was taken last June 14, 2011. Building on the left side is the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
These photos were taken last April 2011 during the Holy week Procession. When the photo was taken, the procession march was about to end.
St. Augustine Cathedral. Built in 1624 by Fray Agustine San Pedro. It was destroyed in 1778 due to fire. A new church was built by Fray Pedro de Santa Barbara with the help of the Kagay-anons and was inaugurated in 1780. In 1831, it was said that the Church was gutted and in 1841, it was built with concrete materials. The wooden cross in front of the main door was erected in 1888.
Cagayan de Oro river. Building on the left side is the City Hall (Yellow/White bldg). This photo was taken at the newest bridge (JR Borja bridge)
