Your own body has movement in music. Whether you know it or not- your body is always moving and creating a rhythm.
Your heart beating in a certain pattern-
Your leg/foot tapping to pass time-
You cracking your knuckles-
All of these moments create a sound and whether you know it or not, that hip hop.
Hip hop is not just the modern music we hear today, it's more of a culture. Being able to hear all of the sounds a body could make and turning it into a "chant" or a "song" is of an ancient African time. Tribes would often use their bodies to create sound or music as a culture or tradition. Before there were drums and auto percussions, there were slaps, taps, and mouths.
hm... mouths? like beatboxing?
YES! Just like that. That ti-ti-ti-tat-ti-ti-ti-ti-tat is beatboxing.
Or in other words ancient hip hop with the movement of your mouth (& body).
