Bee flies, the most adorable insects in the world. Bee flies (family Bombyliidae) are the largest known family of flies (Diptera), consisting of more than 4,500 described species. Their larva are typically parasites or predators of the eggs and larva of other insect species. They superficially resemble bees, and some have speculated that this resemblance evolved to protect them from predators who might be deterred by a bees sting.

This one I couldn't keep alive in a pot but will be planting one at some point.  Softest foliage I have ever felt.

One year ago I bought this from a Japanese nursery on Sawtelle.  After one repotting I finally have it in the ground.  Hoping for the best because it's so beautiful I want to barf.
