Hope y'all have a great day like this adorable pooch here~!
❤
First of all, hope you're having a good day :)
I wanted to tell you about a small concern I have. I was thinking about writing fanfiction for a small fandom I've been in for a few years now, the thing is, I'm kinda afraid to do so. I've never written anything like this in my life and I'm afraid of not doing it okay.
I'm not "known" in the fandom but I've got a few friends in it (some of them are great writers) and I'm... kinda afraid I might disappoint them (well disappoint is maybe not the word. I'm afraid they'll read it and think "this is badly written/ how can you write this and have the nerve to post it??" Idk)
I think it's important to clarify english is not my first language and eventhough I am fluent in it and speak/ read it even more than my first language, I'm still afraid it won't suffice for me to write a fic.
Thank you for your time, hope you're doing well.
Anyone can write fic. Anyone, at any level of language learning, with any amount of canon knowledge, with any writing skill whatsoever can write fic. Fic is for everyone. If you want to write, please do so!
I don't know you or your friends, but I'm betting that they're a nice, supportive group who would cheer you on rather than tear you down. Your fic doesn't have to be perfect for other people to be proud of you or excited that you've started writing.
If you're worried about your writing, maybe try reaching out to your friends and telling them that. Let them know that you're nervous and see if any of them would be willing to help you out. Fandom is a community built on sharing and helping each other and lots of authors (and readers) out there are happy to be betas for new writers.
If a friend of yours was trying something new for the first time and feeling nervous about it, would you judge them harshly? Or be disappointed that they weren't great at it the first time they tried? No. You'd cheer them on and do what you could to help them get better. Let your friends do the same thing for you 💕
YES TO ALL OF THIS
Please please please, if you are in this situation and want to write, I encourage you to write! Just give it a shot!!
Who cares if it's bad even, your friends shouldn't be judging you for that, fanfic should be a thing you do for fun, and if you're enjoying yourself doing it then that's all that matters.
I dove into writing with basically zero prior experience, and I think I was okay when I started but I've definitely improved, and you will too if you keep at it! If I had a friend who tried writing for the first time, even if I thought it wasn't very well done, I would definitely not be disappointed in them, and I would absolutely still be proud that they gave it a shot!
And all that aside, how good your writing is is kind of a subjective thing, anyway. There are fics I've enjoyed reading that other friends haven't, and vice versa. If you write and publish a story, even if there is room for improvement (and, there always is), somebody out there will enjoy it.
So, please. If you want to try writing fanfiction, you should write some fanfiction.
Yesssss
Plz try it out and see where it leads. You never know unless you try.
We all believe in ya.
So, if you guys really want, take a leap of faith and write a chapter or two of a story you've had on your mind.
Creativity is expressive with many definitions.
It's nice being able to read ppl's perspectives on fandoms and create these wonderful worlds and universes.
You've got this. Don't give up and if you ever need a break, we'll all be ready for the adventure to continue.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE AT SOUP
“Be honest with yourself. Stay true to who you are, but if your desires take your away from home… remember where you came from. Take those memories with you & don’t ever let them fade. If you rather be in another country or a different world, have faith in yourself to make that move & do what’s best for you.”

if u dont acknowledge the fanfics u read, the writer won’t think anyone is actually taking the time to read their stuff, which makes our effort feel wasted and our passions feel worthless
comment on all the chapters
Honestly yeah, it’s really discouraging because we’re writing these to share with people.
If people don’t like it, we can keep the ideas to ourselves REALLY.
I can't type/say this enough.
Thank You
Thank you to all those who comment and send kudos, especially now when there hasn't been an updated chapter. It really does give a punch of enthusiasm and push to finish/ continue works.
You all make continuing our hobbies and zen moments of escape and improving ourselves for everyone's enjoyment. Thank you for enjoying the creations made by our imagination.
