second youngest son of the verona palazzo family, vittorio was named for 'victor(y), conqueror and success.' he has never particularly identified with those connotations of strength and success.
his was, and remains, a gentle soul. a rare thing in verona, it would seem -- given the generational feud that continues to mar the city and its inhabitants. another thing vittorio could never wrap his head around.
he was insistent on making friends on both sides, so long as they would have him. as a boy he tried desperately to help build bridges between the sides in the hopes of fuelling reconciliation, but his efforts failed.
he still tries in the present, though with much less vigour -- efforts now tinged with cynicism and the knowledge from a wealth of experience, that it's a futile pursuit. as long as the tiniest flicker of hope remains, though, he'll continue.
a great lover of art, and far more talented in that matter than he'd ever let on. he paints, mostly, and has even sold a handful of paintings ( cloaked in anonymity and under a pseudonym, of course ). has more sketch books than one man should know what to do with, but they are all filled to the brim with scenes of life in the city and in nearby countryside.
also an accomplished violinist, which he is slightly less shy about simply because he adores playing and has to stop himself from jumping at every single opportunity presented.
almost aggressively / laughably neutral in the feud. vittorio is generally quite a passive person, he doesn't like serious arguments and such like and purposefully avoids conflict. as he's grown older though, his disdain for the petty quarrel has become clearer and clearer and he hides it less. has been known to heave a sigh, roll his eyes, call those involved children and swiftly vacate the room if something starts between the folks on opposite sides.
just likes to get on with his life and day in peace, thank you very much. indoors, he can usually be found doing something artsy and outdoors he absolutely loves trail riding and spending time with the family horses. and really any horse.
suffers from raging anxiety and it drives him up the wall because there's absolutely no logic to it at all and he can't think his way out of it. so far, he's managed to keep it to himself ( or so he thinks ), sometimes taking off away from the palazzo estate or the town centre when he feels an attack might be coming on, to spare himself the embarrassment of making a scene. slapping a smile on and trying his best to act his usual self are his top priorities, though he's discovered alcohol helps rather a lot and has begun to lean on that a little as a balm. it has also started affecting his sleep, even more to his chagrin, so the eagle-eyed among verona have probably noticed vito's a little grumpier than usual sometimes.
