I had the best conversation with my uber driver on the way to work this morning. We talked about his childhood and what it was like growing up in Haiti. He’s an only child and hates New York like the rest of us because there’s no space.

I couldn’t stop smiling (maybe because I’m also stoned out of my mind) but I started to feel insanely inspired and it hit me why I love taking pictures and never want to stop: I love, more than anything, sharing intimate moments with strangers. It’s been really hard for me to go on dates recently because I fall in love with every boy I meet, and I realized it’s not because I’m looking to fill a void; but because I give a little piece of myself to every person I open up to.

and maybe that’s why I fell in love with New York! we’re all strangers living in a crazy bubble, sharing the same air and thoughts and personal space. There are zero boundaries in this city, allowing for infinite spontaneous moments with people you never would’ve guessed would cross your path.

I’m ranting now. but I’m just happy.
