“The investigation into the apparent assassination of businessman and media mogul Rudolph McAvery has taken a dark and chilling turn over the past few days. Several documents leaked by prolific and notoriously anonymous hacking organisation BLSCRN indicate that McAvery had been bankrolling several Cerberus cells within the city of Colchester. BLSCRN previously “declared war” on Cerberus back in November. A formal inquest has been opened into McAvery’s activities and all assets seized from the McAvery estate and businesses. McAvery was shot by a concealed sniper whilst giving a speech to Colchester university students on Friday. Though there were several attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
“At approximately 11PM yesterday evening, an explosion shook the downtown area of Colchester. Emergency services pinpointed a disused warehouse as its source. Though police, fire and ambulance services all arrived promptly, six people were pronounced dead at the scene. Three further individuals were subsequently arrested. Though there has been no official statement released about either the explosion or the arrests, an anonymous source has suggested that these individuals are suspected to be affiliated with the terrorist organisation known as Cerberus.”

Gavriel Mosseri was born into almost abject poverty. His father died before his mother gave birth to him as collateral damage in gang warfare going on in downtown Colchester. As a result, his mother raised him alone, as she never took another lover. Gav was born into a deeply religious sephardic Jewish community and practiced with his mother throughout his childhood. To this day, he is very devout and can be borderline bigoted about the religious beliefs and practices of others. In spite of this, Gav was raised with a very strong sense of national pride in Illyria and a great desire to see his nation both defended from all threats and to grow great itself.
When Gav was sixteen, his mother died of breast cancer, which left Gav without any family to take care of him. He was briefly taken into the foster system, but did not do well there. He routinely got into brutal fights with other children, which led to him spending a few months in a juvenile correctional facility. It was there that he was recruited for covert AO operations.
Even before Cerberus became a threat, the AO needed ears to the ground on the streets of Colchester to deal with gang warfare and other threats. At the age of seventeen, Gav was utilised as an asset and informant. He sent them information and was only a text away if they needed someone to turn up with emergency supplies. As one of their surviving (and admittedly, much more savvy) assets, he was slowly given larger and more difficult tasks. Officially, the AO has no record of any ties with Gavriel. At twenty-nine, they now use him as an infiltration agent, working under the codename Abhorsen, gaining the trust of Cerberus in order to bring them down from them inside and to feed them false information (Cerberus think he is their double agent). If he gets caught, however, he is on his own.
As someone prepared to do absolutely anything to protect Illyria, Gavriel routinely kills in ways that many would consider callous. He has been responsible for significant assassinations, the destruction of entire buildings of people as well as “clean up” on people that just needed to be shut up. He has also slept with a number of people for information and other nefarious purposes (in this regard, being bisexual helps). If it comes to it, Gav is prepared to give his life for the cause.
Although he does not have much of a life outside of his work, when he has a moment to relax, Gavriel is honestly a little bit of a playboy, a little bit of a joker and a little bit of a monk (as odd as that combination of things may sound). He practices his religion with fervour and is at total ease around the few people that he calls friends, enough to be a sarcastic, flirty little shit. However, to deal with his work, he has cultivated several different identities.

Evander Hargrove | Superior : The only person that Gav truly answers to is the head of Angerona’s Order. Whilst they do not always agree on what course of action is best, Gav always respects Evander’s decision and has never even considered disobeying him. Gav has been working for the AO in some capacity since he was sixteen and is very well acquainted with Evander personally, viewing him as something of a father figure since he lost his own so young.
Magdalena Peres Azoulay - Contact/Friend: Magda is Gav’s contact in the hacker group BLSCRN, as well as a childhood friend. Also a sephardic jew (admittedly, non-practicing), their mothers were close friends and they have known each other since they were toddlers. Magda is an incredibly gifted hacker and one of the top five ranking members of BLSCRN, but ultimately not in command. Gav and BLSCRN have a mutual agreement on passing certain kinds of information concerning Cerberus to one another, all of which flows through Magda.
Henry Westmore | Under Investigation: Gav has never officially met Henry, however, as chief suspect in the suspicious death of King Edward (unofficially, of course), he has been keeping tabs on him. That isn’t to say Gav isn’t keeping tabs on a lot of people, Henry is just top of his list. Gav has come to no conclusion yet about Henry’s guilt or potential involvement with Cerberus, but he is chief lead and therefore Gav may have to become a physical presence in Henry’s life.
