    ♡     being a rothschild was never something ivory would describe as easy. it came with rules, standards, and expectations that were never his to begin with. he was damn near thirty and still under the control and influence of his parents. an arranged marriage was the last thing he’d expected them to use in retaliation of his decision to date vivian against their approval. he was sick of it. sick of them. sick of the whole family getup. yet, here he was, still unable to figure out how to wriggle from their tight grasp. the throbbing feeling in his gut gains in strength as he walks through the doors of his luxurious townhome in the city. the meeting he’d left earlier for with his parents had wound up being some sort of weird intervention designed to persuade him in the direction of another woman. they’d actually been as bold as to spring his new deemed replacement on him by surprise, waiting at the dinner table with her as if the entire thing was normal.  he had no idea how he was going to explain this to vivian. there was already so much she was putting up with just to be with him, and he felt helpless and guilty for his parents actions and treatment towards her. the long locked heir found his way through the foyer to find vivian, offering her a nervous but warm smile before wrapping her in his arms with an embrace. his breath was shaky and he was certain she’d be able to sniff out his distress. ❝  hey babe. ❞ he greets her before kissing her cheek sweetly.  ❝ have you eaten yet?  ❞ you could feel the awkwardness blanket the room as he tries to approach the conversation gently. if there was even a way to do that under these circumstances. following behind a few seconds of silence he lets out a sigh, knowing there was no easy way to do this. ❝ you’re not going to believe what just happened at my parents house. ❞ the memory of hours before starting to make his blood boil again.     ♡

today was definitely not one of those good days. vivian has been busy with rehearsals at the theatre, and today has been full of such rehearsals. in general, the last couple of weeks have been very challenging, so it's reflected in her condition. however, the real reason she wasn't feeling well was probably of an entirely different nature. but nothing's been confirmed. It was still just an assumption. an assumption that may have been completely beside the point, or an assumption thft may have become a life-changing event in a few months. fortunately, the rehearsals passed very quickly and vivian passed them without any hesitation. despite all this, she was glad to finally be home in peace, with a cup of ice cream. and now when she had heard that Ivory had come home, and had even felt him kiss her on the cheek, she was the happiest and most contented. “hey” her words were accompanied by a kind and loving smile. “no, I haven't eaten yet, although it looks like I have. I've heard the ice cream calling my name since I got here, so I had to grant its wish.” a wide smile appeared on her face before she put a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. vivian was glad ivory had finally arrived. what she wasn't happy about was the atmosphere he brought with him. something definitely wasn't right. the moment he mentioned his parents' house, it all made sense to her. she was the problem. it was no secret that his parents didn't like her and were totally against their relationship. she dug the spoon into the bowl of ice cream, took a quiet and deep breath, and turned to face him. “what happened?” Vivian asked cautiously, even though nervousness slowly began to flood her entire body.

savannah was running late for work. it wasn’t something that usually happened, she overslept and then forgot her work outfit when she was already halfway to work. she can see that she is not the only one that had been late and missed the first bus. “no, i get it. if only i hadn’t forgotten my outfit at home, i would have probably made the bus.” she let out a sigh of her own as she looked up and down the street of any remenance of another bus coming. “do you need a hand with that?” she asked, gesturing toward the items in her hands.

“what do you do that you need a special outfit for work?”  vivian was just curious. She herself wore special clothes to work - costumes. “no, thank you very much. I'll just put it down here. she placed the wrapped costume on the bench and sat next to it. “where are you going? I hope the next bus will be here soon. it looks like it's going to rain soon. that's the last thing we need.“

ADALYN HAD BEEN TUGGING MICAH ALONG , his daughter’s excitement to go to the park contagious as they practically barrel down the sidewalk . she was talking a mile a minute , begging for her father to move faster when he hears someone curse right near the bus stop . the word emits a gasp from the five year old as she whispers daddy , she said a bad word , bringing a laugh out of micah . ‘ sorry — uh , don’t mind her , we had some … struggles in her daycare last year . you alright ? ‘

"oh shit, I'm sorry." was this helpfull and necessary? definitely not. taking a deep breath, vivian smiled at the little girl and then back at her dad. “I'm not used to children. sorry again.” she whispered and looked at the little princess again. We really shouldn't say bad words. You're absolutely right. I'll get better. what’s your name, little girl?”

           ♡          payson was far more interested in the costume draped in hand of the other. she was running a fashion magazine so of course the piece of clothing was the first thing to catch her eye. offering a warm smile to vivian, payson pretends to shoo off her apology.  ❝ please, i have minor meltdowns on the daily, you’re fine love, but what’s that little number in your hand there? i’m curious. are you a performer of some sorts?  ❞

“yes.” vivian nodded her head before looking down at her hands, which were full of costume hangers. “I work at the theater over there.” she said, nodding her head towards the theatre that stood on the other side of the road. “I dance in several shows and musicals there.” this will probably explain why her hands were full of sparkly dresses and suits. “I don't normally wear this. even though I could actually wear it. this sparkly jacket is amazing, isn’t it?”

this was what vivian needed. a bus that departed right in front of her nose. this afternoon was tough, the last few weeks have been tough. “shit” She cursed and turned slowly on her heels, the costume from her performance in one hand, a cup full of coffee in the other. when she got to her original position, her gaze stopped on the person in front of her. “today's not exactly one of my good days.” She said, as if she thought the person needed to hear her apology for her behavior.
