I went to a really interesting museum exhibit on South American textiles.  Here is one of the pieces they had.  It is a huipil (blouse) from Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala.  Isn’t it interesting?  All that lovely embroidery of realistic looking birds.  I’ve never seen anything like it before.  Usually it is mostly weaving pieces from the region.
