He's wearing a Spider-Man suit and Victor is on his way to find him.
You felt disgusting. Your brain wouldn't stop spinning from the endless drop through dimensions just a brief minute ago. Feeling like you had been everywhere all at once for a brief moment in time was really fucking you up.
"Local currency detected. Conversion started." ARIA, your suits AI speaks, voice vibrating through the speakers. senses immediately overwhelmed, a sickness in your stomach settling deep inside you. Finally your eyes dart across the room to the boy once more.
Local currency? Where were you?
The boy sat in a black desk chair, looking disheveled, legs spread wide and body covered in a red skin-tight suit which contrasted with the dull environment of his apartment.ย the spider man suit.ย Once he sees you kneeling on the ground, one hand covering your mid stomach and the other resting on your knee. he panics and jumps towards his mask that rested on the cluttered messy desk just beside him. where various computers and tech components laid across in no particular order.
"Hey so I've already seen your faceโ" you try to joke, however his webs pin your wrist that isn't keeping you alive, from your knee to the ground in an instant. "Seriously?" You shake your head and with a quick tug, the webs break off your hand and follows your other hand to your gut. Now both pressing firmly.
"Okay that's...that's never happened before." He clutches his mask tightly, letting his eyes graze over your figure before settling on your mask that covered your face, hair spilling from the back as designed when you figured out It's hard fitting all that hair under there..."Spider...woman?" He asks, walking slightly closer, muscles straining against the latex as you looked up at him. "Spider-MAN,ย actually." You lay back on the floor, taking your hand off your stomach, you wince "you got something for this?" He slowly gets up, not taking his eyes off you. Not until he actually enters the bathroom, if he was that smart. He wouldn't have ever turned his back to you in the first place. Not that you were in any condition to fight him even if you wanted to.
You take the opportunity to scan over the room with your eyes. "ARIA, scan nearby male subject." You mumble through your teeth, waiting for the your assistant to comply with the task, soon a 3D model of a human visualises in front of your eyes.
"Analysis complete. Subject detected: Peter Parker. Age estimate: young adult. Occupation: unclear. Stress levels: unusually high." you sigh out, hearingย Peterย walk out of the bathroom with a first aid kit between his covered fingers. "Here" he still has a look of confusion plastered on his face.
"Go on Peter." You nod, hands reaching out for the kit, reaching out best you could with one hand. "What? Alsoโhow do you know my name?" Peter reaches his hand back almost as if your touch burned. "Just ask whatever you're itching to say." You reach behind your head and pull your mask off, breathing loudly and grabbing bandages from the small first aid box.
He opens his mouth to speak but immediately closes it, looking away at the wall instead of you.
"Who are you?" He takes a seat back in his desk chair again, leaning on his knees to appear bigger and what you think. More intimidating.
You state your name while your hands tremble. Doing your best to wrap yourself best you can, working through the rip in your suit that was coated in a thin layer of blood and sweat.
"And you're Spider-Man?" As you finish up your work, you attempt to raise but fail. Yelping out and groaning in annoyance, you typically heal within minutes. This was a deep wound and it wasn't healing in the slightest.
"Yeah...of myย worldย anyway.."
He stays silent for a few seconds before speaking for you. "Why are you here?โ" you interrupt him. "I don't knowย whyย I'm here but it might be lucky that I am" You ramble out before quickly following it with "...I'd say you're in danger of well...being in my current state" you reference to your half dead body.
He tilts his head immediately. "What are you talking about."
"Well...There's a guy named Victor...he's a doctorโI think? of some kind...making his way through all the universes to find a specific Spider-Man and clearly he hasn't been here yet so I'm not sure how much time we have... days, weeks, months? I don't know." You pause, realising.ย You might sound insane.
"Timeย weย have?" His gestures towards you both.
"This isn't my dimension Peter..." You leave it there, that's really all you feel like talking about. You don't know Peter, he doesn't know you and in the end. He can't be trusted fully. Not matter if he's Spider-Man.
"Right." He seems to realise that as well because he changed the subject.
"So specific Spider-Man? What does that Spider-Man have that he needs?" He asks, shrugging. "I also don't know...but...I am hereย for a reason Peter. Your odds aren't looking amazing right now if I'm being honest" You turn your head to look at him from the floor.
"We just have to wait." He says. "Exactly.." you sigh, a loud beep follows that echo's through your eardrums.
Almost exactly like that dayโ
"Scorpion is attacking a bank on 5th street avenue" a voice calls out from Peter's computer set up, it's feminine sounding. Almost identical to ARIA. You purse your lips and slowly turn your head towards him "Scorpion that's an awful name..." you smirk, crawling towards the very uncomfortable looking couch on your hands and knees.
"You aren't gonna like...die while I'm gone right?" Scooping up his mask from the table. he looks you in the face before heading towards the open window.
"ARIA, probability of death?" You speak allowed so your assistant could hear you, followed by. "78% of death probable, seek emergency medical care." Your eyes widen "oh shit that's way higher than i thought...you got a tv remote here somewhere?" Lying in the couch you search for a remote, curious to what this universe had for a selection of television in contrast to yours.
"Seventy-eight percent?!, I'm taking you to a hospital!" He begins to rush towards you, stopped by another round of beeping. Both of your eyes follow it to the computer screen "Bank robbery progressing, civilians hurt." The voice speaks out.
"Better get going spider boy." You shoo off, eventually finding the remote in between the couch cushions. "Spider-man!" Peter yells as he swings off. "I'm Spider-Man!" You retort however you aren't sure if he heard you.
The selection for shows was identical to your universe, making the time you spent on the coach insanely boring...you weren't built to sit on a couch. You were made to get out in the city and be Spider-Man.
Flicking to the news channel you sit up in interest.
"Superhero, Spider-Man injured at a bank robbery in town. Police attempting to intervene" sighing out loud, you regain enough strength to stand up on your own then reaching your mask on the floor.
"Stupid Peter Parker...it's literally been only 30 minutes..." mumbling you pull your mask over your face, you grab a couple bandages from the first aid box, you do your best to wrap a couple around your mid section before heading to the window Peter left from earlier.
You take a deep breath from the edge of the balcony as you squeeze out the window. Watching the bustling of the city from down below, you take the leap from the building and make your way to Peter downtown.
Swinging through the air best you could injured, you watch as people stare and point at you as you whizz past. Yelling out "a second Spider-Man!" Or "a female Spider-Man!" loud enough that you could hear them as high up as you were.
As you make it to Peter, he's obviously confused to see you. As is Scorpion..."What are you doing here!" Peter barks, getting knocked by Scorpions tail, heading into a nearby cafe building. "I couldn't just watch you get your ass kicked on live TV!" You argue, pulling Peter back with your webs before he smashed through. "No matter how hilarious it might be." You laugh, dodging a punch from Scorpion. "So what's the plan here? I don't really know this guy! Or his attacks!!" You get knocked to the rubble, the open skin of your wound scrapping the rocks. You yelp out in pain.
But you get up.
"He's got a new upgrade!" Peter slings towards Scorpion. kicking him in the face and sending him flying towards a car. "Not helpful Spider-Man!" You quickly get off the ground, swinging towards some higher ground. Before taking a look around, "ARIA, analyse scorpion" you speak, watching Peter doing his best to fight him off.
"What are you doing!" He calls, watching you seemingly just watch him. "Scorpion is unable to be analysed at this time" You groan at the useless information. "Spider-Man! Is his tail powered by electricity? Give me anything!!" Watching as Peter gets flung in the air. "Am I just supposed to ask?!" He webs towards you mid air, clinging against the side of the wall next to you.
"Yeah okay fuckface" Peter was about to say something when the tip of scorpions tail made its way towards you, "we need to find out!" You add, pushing Peter away as you both dispersed from the tail which struck the wall between where you both had been.
"How longs that gonna take?! I'm running out of webs here!" Worry clearly lacing his speech. "How do you run out of webs??" You swing back onto the ground, webbing scorpion to the wall however with a little effort he breaks out. "The cartridges are getting low!" Gesturing to his wrists which supported two bulky items.
"What? we're so talking about this later!" You'd never heard of that before, web cartridges??
When you swung back onto the sidewalk, observing Scorpion from a safer distance. You notice his heavy breathing...he's getting tired.
"Top of the building! Now!" You yell, climbing to the top of a tall building. Soon followed by Peter.
"Why are we up here?โ" you walk over and yank his wrists towards you, looking at the amount of webs he has left...two bars "that enough?" You let go of his wrist when he nods, pushing him closer to the edge to point to Scorpion. "See that? He's getting tired, the problem is that he's too fast yeah? We have to tire him out andย thenย go for it" Peter looks away from below to look at you. "Oh myโyou need to get out of here! Look at your stomach!" He gasps, running his hands over the poorly wrapped bandages. "It's fine Peter seriously!" He stares at you blankly.
"ARIA, probability of death?" Peter speaks, "NoโNo! ARIA don't answer thaโ" she cuts you off. "Probability of death, eighty two percent. Wound unable to heal, foreign object attached to the small intestine...it is not biological in nature." The words make you shiver in confusion, foreign object? "Why didn't you say that earlier!" You scold ARIA although since she's artificial intelligence, she only responds with "it did not seem like a problem at the time."
"Seriously? Go!!" Peter tries pushing you in the other direction, a way to tell you leave.
"Don't treat me like a civilian I can hardly even feel it! Super strength and what not" You push his hands off you and swing down in front of scorpion immediately firing webs at him, forcing him to use strength to break out. "Besides don't you wanna play a little game of cat and mice?" You smile inside the mask, not that anyone could see. But he knew.
"Whatever gets you of here as quickly as possible...I don't think scorpions make very good cats anyways." his worry is followed by a joke, it makes you laugh.
"I guess we'll find out ifย spidersย make good mice." Scorpion grins, immediately charging towards you both. "How long will this take!" The two of you start to run down the street. "We'll find out!" You web to a building, swinging yourself through New York. Peter soon follows and you have a very hungry and eagerย catย trailing behind you both.
"And this will work?" Peter looks at his web shooters, one bar. "It's my only idea!" You call, swinging far ahead.
Eventually, ever so slightly...he slows just by a second.
"Spiderman now!" You drop down, kicking Scorpion, earning you a harsh whip with his tail. But he starts panting. You web him to a brick wall as you crash into a window, rolling on the floor. and this time he doesn't break out. Peter goes up to his tail, webbing the insides so it's completely disabled.
"You alright?" He calls, watching for a sign of life. You pop up through the window. "Yeah...this window isn't though...I accidentally totalled it with my body." You jump through the window, walking towards Peter. "It's fine I do that all the time." He smirks, looking back to Scorpion who seems less than impressed with your banter.
The swat team run past you both, immediately securing Scorpion
"Bit dumb of you." You grin, pulling up your mask to reveal your mouth, taking a deep breath in. "What are you doing?" Peter tilts his head. "Breathing past the pain, I just smashed through a windowย Spider-Man." He instantly grips your hand, "So you could feel it! we're going to an ambulance right now!" He drags you towards a paramedic "she has something inside her wound can you please take it out." He instructs the female to which she nods and asks you to sit down.
"WaitโARIA scan device" you speak, letting ARIA analyse and explain.
"I have identified the device." The AI stops and Peter looks at you. "What is it?"
"I don't know." She reveals. "What do you mean you don't know?" Peter's voice rises, you look at the paramedic. "I'm so sorry could you please give us a couple minutes?" She gathers her things and thanks you both for saving the day then goes back to the civilians.
"It is transmitting a signal to your original universe" you immediately cut in "that's not even possible, that's insanely impossible technology!"
"I'm aware, I would advise against removing it. I cannot completely determine what would happen if the tether is severed." You jump to your feet. "I'm removing it!" You start digging through ambulance supplies. "Removal may cause neurological damage." Peter grabs you, "you aren't doing that!" He webs your hands together.
"You know I can just get out of this." You state the obvious. "Let it be metaphorical or something then, don't take it out." You still, waiting for him to continue his argument. "We'll figure it out, but touching it could kill you...and well, I kinda of need you alive, don't I?"ย He gestures towards his surroundings.
"So I leave it in?..." you get closer and whisper shout "Peter it could be a tracking device!!" Peter covers your mouth. "Don't jinx it!"
"Seriously?!" You mumble into his hand.
"You're going to stitch it up and let it heal like a regular human...until I can talk to DeWolff and nothing is going to happen, isn't that right ARIA." He takes away his hand.
"Strongly advise to leave the device and let it heal while I observe how it works."
"You're both insane." You rip off the webbing, heading outside the ambulance. "Hi sorry! Could you please fix this!โproperly.." you look down at your stomach to find the bandages completely fallen off, the paramedic runs over to you.
"I hope you're making the right decision spidey." You shrug, sitting down and letting the paramedic do her work.
"Hey spiders, you might wanna get out of here sooner or later! Crowds getting rowdy!" A young police officer calls from the barricade which was overflowing with people practically trampling on top of each other just to get a glance at the two of you.
"We will thanks!" Peter gets on his feet, checking his webs. "Just enough to get home...about ready?" The doctor nods as you stand.
"Gosh I feel sick" you mumble. "Don't be a baby" Peter laughs. "You try have an alien device inside yโ" he swings away. "Spider-Man! Hey!" You swing after him, watching as the crowds eyes follow you both.
"Don't ignore me!" You catch up to him, swinging backwards in front to face him. "I wasn't, you heard the officer, it was time to go" as you both swing into the apartment, you take a seat on the coach while Peter goes into his bedroom. Soon returning with clothes.
"There's a shower down the hall...we're gonna have to fix your suit." Your suit was practically indestructible, however Fracture had unworldly strength which tore a hole right through the mid section. "I made my suit myself I don't even know if your universe has the technology advanced enough to fix it." You gather the clothes from his hands.
"Well you made the suit right?"
"Yeah I just said that."
"Then you canย makeย the advanced technology."
"Peter you want me toย makeย advanced technology? That could take literal years to do."
"You don't have anything else to do."
"Fine but Im getting my own place...i need space...and a lot of it, you should've seen my lab. I have just enough money to get an apartment down town." You head to the bathroom, standing in the door way as Peter speaks.
"I'm a bad roommate huh?"
"Peter, you're Spider-Man. So I immediately have a connection with you on some level...but I'm not sugarcoating it...this place, is bad." Referencing to all the trash and garbage everywhere. "So tell you what. I'll shower, change...then we're cleaning."
"You should be resting, doctor's orders."
"Peter's orders."
"Spider-Man's orders.."
"I'm Spider-Maโ"
"We can't keep going back and forth about this!"
"Just accept that I'm Spider-Man and we'll be over it!"
"Go shower." You turn around in protest, locking the door behind you.
Having a shower was extremely humbling. As you washed your body you ran over every new bruise and mark that would be most likely gone in a couple hours. Except that massive scar where it looked like someone stole your kidney. It was a constant reminder that you failed. You let yourself get wrapped up in the emotional part of the job, somethingย Spider-Man should never do.
Regardlessย you get out the shower, wrapping yourself in Peter's clothes. Immediately feeling like a real person.
"You cleaned." As you walked out the bathroom, suit in hand. you noticed the room was considerably cleaner. Not perfect...but it was certainly progress.
"I didn't want you to clean, you're injured...also I have stuff I didn't want you to throw out." He shrugs, sitting in his desk chair, suit now off and resting on the table. His head tilted down staring at a coffee cup.
"Wanna talk about it?" You ask, assuming the answer would beโ"no" yeah. That's what you assumed.
You nod. Walking over to him with the suit in your hands, clutching it tightly.

He mumbles in response.
"Nothings going to happen to your universe, I promise." He looks back at you.
"I don't know if I could take another disaster again."

Since you were young, you wished for the โnormalโ day to day life. Whatever that was stereotypically anyway. You wanted to stay in your lane, keep to yourself. remain under the radar. You used to hate standing out of the norm and often wished to just be yourself.
Unfortunately that all did change when you were fourteen. Your older sister, Elara. worked herself to the bone in the university science lab, every night was another day she worried for her future career. Trying to impress her mentor, Victor. with creative ideas to hopefully to prove to him that she could innovate with minimal resources.
And after months of you begging her to bring you into the lab, pleading on your hands and knees after you showed an extreme passion and intelligence towards Biochemistry and all things genetics growing up.
She caved.
it was better then you could've ever imagined.
Elara had only walked away for whole of maybe five minutes. But that was enough time for you to wander around and snoop on everything the students were doing. Eventually stumbling upon a small glass tank. inside webs stuck to the sides all the way down with something inside that shined through them, illuminating the bottom of the glass.
"Interest in the spiders?" Elara walked in, classic white coat wrapped around her and she had her signature smile painted on her face.
"What do you use spiders for?" You back away from the tank, somehow just realising that these, probably aren't just normal spiders.
"They're genetically modified...to help form proteins for humans, I believe it could be the future of medicine." Her hands almost graze the side of the tank, but her pulls her hand away.
"Unfortunately it's unethical to test on humans at this stage, we don't know what they do yet" Elara backs away from the enclosure, walking towards the bench next to them. "So don't touch them...as far as you know, they're just regular glowing spiders...okay?" She half laughs, then turns towards you waiting for the confirmation that you heard her.
"Yeah okay" you nod and mumble, crossing your arms over eachother.
"Go find your brother please, he really shouldn't be alone in hereโฆheโs only eightโ She ushers you off towards the corridor, as she packs away the tank.
"Adam? Adam where are you?" You cup both hands near your mouth and yell. The lab big enough that your voice echoes through out the place.
As you take your next step, the walls shake and rumble followed by absolute silence. Not a single voice or machine running anymore.
"Adam?" Your voice much quieter.
Red siren alarms begin to blare and the walls begin to shake once more, violently and rough. You run back towards the room you and Elara were just in, only to find her on the floor, glass surrounding her. Glass from the tank, spiders crawling all over the floor.
"El!" You rush towards her kneeling on the floor next to her. As you try to help her up, she Immediately pushes you into the cabinet with enough force the metal screeches and dents at the impact.
"No! Get out of here, find Adam and run!" She panics, lifting up from the floor however another large shake sends her to the ground once more with you.
"What are you talking aboutโ" you only just finish your sentence before the wall bursts open in front of you both, pieces of brick and metal go flying through the air and through the cloud of dust raises a man in a mechanical suit.
"Victor.." Elara coughs through the smoke, jumping up from the ground and stomping on the spiders that ran across the ground.
โYou arenโt getting your hands on these!โ She shouts.
Anger apparent on his face, he surges forward. Missing her by an inch, mechanical hand wedged in the wall, knocking her to the ground but he's too late. Every spiders is squashed into the linoleum floor.
"Go to my office now, take this. Open the safe...take it all." Elara whispers to you, handing over her ID badge as she helps you off the floor and nudges you towards the open corridor once more, you were scared the man would come after you next but it was clear he was only there for her. So you run.
faster then you ever have before, legs burning and threatening to give out. The walls continue to crumble and break causing you to loose balance a few times but nothing is stopping you from reaching her office. As you burst through the door, parts of the roof cave in causing you to get on all fours. you crawl underneath her office desk, sliding her ID badge over the sensor and watching it light up green.
Inside the safe was various files, you shove them inside Elaraโs messenger bag that hung off her desk chair. Before you hear a whimper nearby, Adam.
Hiding inside her office.
"Adam...are you okay?!" You rush towards him after gathering all the pages. "I-I'm okay!" He's obviously shaken and terrified...just as you were.
"We need to get out of here." You groan, grabbing his hand and raising to your feet once more. Sprinting outside the room and down the corridor, as you make it towards the exit, you slam through to be met with hundreds of police pointing guns at you however are soon lowered once seeing you both properly.
You rushed to an ambulance to be treated, as you walk you feel a small prick on your neck, hand instantly reaching for the spot feeling a small bump, pulling it away from your skin, your heart rate picks up.
A spider.
A glowing spider.
A spider from that tank.
It mustโve crawled on you when you tried to help Elara off the floorโ
โSis..?โ Adam appears behind you, โyou alright?โ He asks. Your hand immediately clutches the spider in your fist, just hard enough to hide it. Just as youโre about to answer, your eyes draw on the man from before, Victor. Appearing on top of the building followed by an explosion that radiates through the atmosphere and he grapples away with his metal hands.
The building crumbles to the ground.
โElara!โ You scream, running towards the building. Instantly being grabbed by a police officer and pulled back. You fall on the rubble, tears streaming down your face. Spider still clutched in your hands.
Thatโs the day your dream changed.
Thatโs the day the transformation from human toโฆnot human started.
Your mother didnโt say much that night. In fact she didnโt say anything at all. Not so much as a nod. Which was fine, because you couldnโt say much either.
Your temperature was shot, sweat leaked down your body, head throbbing and body aching. As soon as you made it in the comfort of your room and sealed the spider in a mason jar. you collapsed, head first into the carpet.
You donโt remember much from that night. Other when waking up very couple hours and whimper or groan into the floor, clutching onto your body which felt like someone had began stretching and twisting it.
You wake the next morning claustrophobic, you canโt move. You feel strangled.
You start panicking, hands thrashing against the soft material surrounding you. You open your eyes only to be met withโฆsilk.
Webs.
webs that snuggled you like a cocoon.
You tear through the material and start to fall, hands gripping the walls to stop yourself. You expect to hit the floor seconds later, but you donโt. You cling to the walls.
โWhat theโฆโ you mutter, lifting your hands off the walls and fall into the ground with a thud.
Getting off the ground, somehow convinced it was a trick off the eyes, you walk to the bathroom.
You start brushing your teeth before placing the toothbrush back into the kitchen coffee mug on the sink. Accidentally knocking it off without realising. You catch the cup instantly with your other hand as if a part of your brain just knew and you place it back as if not in control of your hand in that moment.
That was how it started.
Here you are now, after being Spider-Man for over four years. you would've thought, that you knew everything there is to know about it. I mean, can't be that complex right?
Wrong.
Because here you are. practically dying on a rooftop because your head cracked from the impact to the concreate roof. you can feel every individual wound and bruise as you try to grab onto anything to crawl away.
Then. His voice invades your senses, it crawls through your brain and settles on the mushy part that makes you groan out in pain. Feeling that all too familiar sensor that says danger is coming for you, you flick out your wrist, webbing to a nearby building as you go flying through the air and resting against the side of a sky scraper, clutching your stomach to try and stop the buckets of blood gushing out. Just missing the metal hand of Fracture crashing through the spot you had just been.
Victor.
"Fracture! You need to stop this! Please!" tears soak your mask as you look down at all the civilians and police warping in and out of consciousness and buildings glitch out of reality just metres away from you.
and it hits you. there is nothing you can do.
its already ruined.
"No can do Spider-Man, you caused this! Don't forget that." The man whom would haunt your nightmare for the rest of your life begins to hover above the city, glitches and static surround him.
"I've been to thousands of different dimensions. You're only one in infinite realities of Spider-Man's...you aren't the one I need." Your eyes widen at his statement, infinite Spider-Manโs? He turns his back to you, brings his hands together and opens a ripple in time in front of him, a portal.
From where you hug to the side of a building, you can see the warping that happens inside of the universal hole he just opened, flashing images of scenarios, universes heโs ruined. If you knew any better. You wouldn't have done what you did. But you did it anyway.
As he begins to make his way towards it, you muster up enough strength to reach your wrist out once more and web onto his metal back. Pushing yourself forward through the sky and into the portal with him. However heโs gone in an instant and youโre suddenly stuck falling infinitely down through dimensions, flashing pictures of Spider-Manโs.
Until.
You crash and land on the wood floor of someone's house, it feels strangely quiet other then the sound of your very faint heartbeat and all the injuries catch up and become all too much to handleโฆyou start crying, sobbing.
"Woah!.." the voice makes you quickly get up, trying your hardest to ignore the pain that radiates through followed by a whine you let out and then fall onto your knees, the gash in your stomach dripping blood onto the hardwood floor.
You look up.
The boy that stands in front of you is obviously shocked with having you warp into his room through a portal even more than you are.

And after months of you begging her to bring you into the lab, pleading on your hands and knees after you showed an extreme passion and intelligence towards Biochemistry and all things genetics growing up.
She caved.
it was better then you could've ever imagined.
Elara had only walked away for whole of maybe five minutes. But that was enough time for you to wander around and snoop on everything the students were doing. Eventually stumbling upon a small glass tank. inside webs stuck to the sides all the way down with something inside that shined through them, illuminating the bottom of the glass.
"Interest in the spiders?" Elara walked in, classic white coat wrapped around her and she had her signature smile painted on her face.
"What do you use spiders for?" You back away from the tank, somehow just realising that these, probably aren't just normal spiders.
"They're genetically modified...to help form proteins for humans, I believe it could be the future of medicine." Her hands almost graze the side of the tank, but her pulls her hand away.
"Unfortunately it's unethical to test on humans at this stage, we don't know what they do yet" Elara backs away from the enclosure, walking towards the bench next to them. "So don't touch them...as far as you know, they're just regular glowing spiders...okay?" She half laughs, then turns towards you waiting for the confirmation that you heard her.
"Yeah okay" you nod and mumble, crossing your arms over eachother.
"Go find your brother please, he really shouldn't be alone in hereโฆheโs only eightโ She ushers you off towards the corridor, as she packs away the tank.
"Adam? Adam where are you?" You cup both hands near your mouth and yell. The lab big enough that your voice echoes through out the place.
As you take your next step, the walls shake and rumble followed by absolute silence. Not a single voice or machine running anymore.
"Adam?" Your voice much quieter.
Red siren alarms begin to blare and the walls begin to shake once more, violently and rough. You run back towards the room you and Elara were just in, only to find her on the floor, glass surrounding her. Glass from the tank, spiders crawling all over the floor.
"El!" You rush towards her kneeling on the floor next to her. As you try to help her up, she Immediately pushes you into the cabinet with enough force the metal screeches and dents at the impact.
"No! Get out of here, find Adam and run!" She panics, lifting up from the floor however another large shake sends her to the ground once more with you.
"What are you talking aboutโ" you only just finish your sentence before the wall bursts open in front of you both, pieces of brick and metal go flying through the air and through the cloud of dust raises a man in a mechanical suit.
"Victor.." Elara coughs through the smoke, jumping up from the ground and stomping on the spiders that ran across the ground.
โYou arenโt getting your hands on these!โ She shouts.
Anger apparent on his face, he surges forward. Missing her by an inch, mechanical hand wedged in the wall, knocking her to the ground but he's too late. Every spiders is squashed into the linoleum floor.
"Go to my office now, take this. Open the safe...take it all." Elara whispers to you, handing over her ID badge as she helps you off the floor and nudges you towards the open corridor once more, you were scared the man would come after you next but it was clear he was only there for her. So you run.
faster then you ever have before, legs burning and threatening to give out. The walls continue to crumble and break causing you to loose balance a few times but nothing is stopping you from reaching her office. As you burst through the door, parts of the roof cave in causing you to get on all fours. you crawl underneath her office desk, sliding her ID badge over the sensor and watching it light up green.
Inside the safe was various files, you shove them inside Elaraโs messenger bag that hung off her desk chair. Before you hear a whimper nearby, Adam.
Hiding inside her office.
"Adam...are you okay?!" You rush towards him after gathering all the pages. "I-I'm okay!" He's obviously shaken and terrified...just as you were.
"We need to get out of here." You groan, grabbing his hand and raising to your feet once more. Sprinting outside the room and down the corridor, as you make it towards the exit, you slam through to be met with hundreds of police pointing guns at you however are soon lowered once seeing you both properly.
You rushed to an ambulance to be treated, as you walk you feel a small prick on your neck, hand instantly reaching for the spot feeling a small bump, pulling it away from your skin, your heart rate picks up.
A spider.
A glowing spider.
A spider from that tank.
It mustโve crawled on you when you tried to help Elara off the floorโ
โSis..?โ Adam appears behind you, โyou alright?โ He asks. Your hand immediately clutches the spider in your fist, just hard enough to hide it. Just as youโre about to answer, your eyes draw on the man from before, Victor. Appearing on top of the building followed by an explosion that radiates through the atmosphere and he grapples away with his metal hands.
The building crumbles to the ground.
โElara!โ You scream, running towards the building. Instantly being grabbed by a police officer and pulled back. You fall on the rubble, tears streaming down your face. Spider still clutched in your hands.
Thatโs the day your dream changed.
Thatโs the day the transformation from human toโฆnot human started.
Your mother didnโt say much that night. In fact she didnโt say anything at all. Not so much as a nod. Which was fine, because you couldnโt say much either.
Your temperature was shot, sweat leaked down your body, head throbbing and body aching. As soon as you made it in the comfort of your room and sealed the spider in a mason jar. you collapsed, head first into the carpet.
You donโt remember much from that night. Other when waking up very couple hours and whimper or groan into the floor, clutching onto your body which felt like someone had began stretching and twisting it.
You wake the next morning claustrophobic, you canโt move. You feel strangled.
You start panicking, hands thrashing against the soft material surrounding you. You open your eyes only to be met withโฆsilk.
Webs.
webs that snuggled you like a cocoon.
You tear through the material and start to fall, hands gripping the walls to stop yourself. You expect to hit the floor seconds later, but you donโt. You cling to the walls.
โWhat theโฆโ you mutter, lifting your hands off the walls and fall into the ground with a thud.
Getting off the ground, somehow convinced it was a trick off the eyes, you walk to the bathroom.
You start brushing your teeth before placing the toothbrush back into the kitchen coffee mug on the sink. Accidentally knocking it off without realising. You catch the cup instantly with your other hand as if a part of your brain just knew and you place it back as if not in control of your hand in that moment.
That was how it started.
Here you are now, after being Spider-Man for over four years. you would've thought, that you knew everything there is to know about it. I mean, can't be that complex right?
Wrong.
Because here you are. practically dying on a rooftop because your head cracked from the impact to the concreate roof. you can feel every individual wound and bruise as you try to grab onto anything to crawl away.
Then. His voice invades your senses, it crawls through your brain and settles on the mushy part that makes you groan out in pain. Feeling that all too familiar sensor that says danger is coming for you, you flick out your wrist, webbing to a nearby building as you go flying through the air and resting against the side of a sky scraper, clutching your stomach to try and stop the buckets of blood gushing out. Just missing the metal hand of Fracture crashing through the spot you had just been.
Victor.
"Fracture! You need to stop this! Please!" tears soak your mask as you look down at all the civilians and police warping in and out of consciousness and buildings glitch out of reality just metres away from you.
and it hits you. there is nothing you can do.
its already ruined.
"No can do Spider-Man, you caused this! Don't forget that." The man whom would haunt your nightmare for the rest of your life begins to hover above the city, glitches and static surround him.
"I've been to thousands of different dimensions. You're only one in infinite realities of Spider-Man's...you aren't the one I need." Your eyes widen at his statement, infinite Spider-Manโs? He turns his back to you, brings his hands together and opens a ripple in time in front of him, a portal.
From where you hug to the side of a building, you can see the warping that happens inside of the universal hole he just opened, flashing images of scenarios, universes heโs ruined. If you knew any better. You wouldn't have done what you did. But you did it anyway.
As he begins to make his way towards it, you muster up enough strength to reach your wrist out once more and web onto his metal back. Pushing yourself forward through the sky and into the portal with him. However heโs gone in an instant and youโre suddenly stuck falling infinitely down through dimensions, flashing pictures of Spider-Manโs.
Until.
You crash and land on the wood floor of someone's house, it feels strangely quiet other then the sound of your very faint heartbeat and all the injuries catch up and become all too much to handleโฆyou start crying, sobbing.
"Woah!.." the voice makes you quickly get up, trying your hardest to ignore the pain that radiates through followed by a whine you let out and then fall onto your knees, the gash in your stomach dripping blood onto the hardwood floor.
You look up.
The boy that stands in front of you is obviously shocked with having you warp into his room through a portal even more than you are.
What's more shocking?
He's wearing a Spider-Man suit and Victor is on his way to find him.

Iโd like to hear some feedback on which one people prefer for my Peter Parker series โbutterfly effectโ
if third person was chosen i wouldn't give her a set name but nicknames and as shes not completely ambigious to readers anyway (she has orange hair), would third person be better?
I tend to gravitate towards the third person aspect because I enjoy giving my characters backstories and find that easier to write in. However itโs up to the readers and ill write which ever they like better! Let me know!
