Important Announcement

It brings me great sadness to make this post, but I fear it's a necessary one.

The Voltron Writers Zine will be discontinued.

Firstly, a huge apology to everyone who was looking forward to this. I truly do apologize for this disappointment. But due to internal circumstances, I made the executive decision to discontinue this zine.

Secondly, to my MOD team, I deeply apologize for not being able to deliver the way I should have. I have certainly learned and grown as a person during this project. And I promise to do better in the future. Thank you all for your hard work so far.

And lastly, thank you to everyone who supported this project so far. And don't worry, we'll come back with more projects eventually in the future! And this time, we'll be better prepared and informed :)

Once again, I thank all of you for everything and once again, offer my deepest apologies.

For the completed fic between 1.5-2.5k words, would it be acceptable to submit a stand-alone chapter of a fic where each chapter involves a different character/scene? No context would be needed and the chapter would come to a satisfactory conclusion without the need to read further chapters.

Hi! Yes it's acceptable to submit that! As long as the chapter itself reads like a stand-alone fic, it's perfectly alright to submit it! Hope this helped!

Hello again! For the spot artist application, i was wondering what kind of art you guys would prefer to be in the example portfolio/examples of my art in general. Like character interactions or.?

Thank you for your question! For spot artists, we're mostly focusing on characters being the focus of the piece. So this covers how well you can depict their emotions, actions and even interactions! The most important thing that your submissions should have is the specific character (or characters) being the highlight of the piece and being the focus of the piece. Hope this answers your question!

In the contributor application form you ask for 'preferred name'. Is this asking for an actual (first) name or just the preferred internet pseudonym/username?

By 'preferred name', we mean the name you'd like to be called! This can be either your pseudonym or your real name, whichever one you're more comfortable with! Hope this answers your question :)

Thank you for your question! We're preparing a post about the results of our interest check, so hopefully that should give you an idea of what the content of this zine will be!

In the document, you say you don't want writers to submit NSFW content when applying, and that includes gore. Could I have some clarification on what you'd consider gore (as in, would any kind of whump be included or would it have to be more explicit)?

Hi! Thank you for your question! By gore, we mean overly graphic and explicit descriptions of injury. We're okay with heavy angst, whump and general angst but nothing too graphic/explicit. However, having such content on your portfolio or having written that type of content previously will not hinder your chances of getting into the zine! Hope this answers your question!
