He was a security analyst before he up and left his life and everyone in it (including semi-serious girlfriend, Iella Dreit) to work on saving his brother. He drained his accounts and fled to a remote part of Karth where he could work in peace. Four years later, and he’s no closer to figuring out to crack the security system than he was when he started. He’s becoming increasingly frustrated with himself and he knows he needs help to move forward, but trusting anyone with this isn’t something that Jakar is willing to do lightly. TAKEN BY TINA RAE.

ZETHA BROOD | ELIZABETH BANKS

✝ Age: (38) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Ezra Coburn (cousins) ✝ Description:  Zetha is known throughout the capital for her unique fashion choices and many wealthy women try to copy her look. While her heart is in the right place, Zetha can be very superficial and her world often seems to revolve entirely around the latest gossip, the most outlandish parties, and of course, what she should wear next! The truth is, there’s much more to Zetha than that. Despite having received a comfortable living thanks to her father who swore his loyalty to the Quasars, Zetha doesn’t believe in what’s happening. Still, she throws herself into her materialistic world in attempts to find some happiness and turns a blind eye to the things she can’t control. She’s constantly trying to raise the spirits of her cousin, Ezra Coburn, who has taken to drinking to deal with his problems. TAKEN BY TINA RAE.

LUX CARAC | CHARLIE DAY

✝ Age: (36) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Balek Koth, Zan Ralter (fellow scientists) ✝ Description: Lux works with both Balek and Zan on the Quasar army. While he has some hesitations about creating something so powerful and then handing it over to the Quasars to control, Lux often gets too distracted by the projects in the lab to linger too long on his moral concerns. Lux is always full of energy and he often thinks faster than he thinks – and half of the things he ends up saying don’t make sense to anyone. He constantly has new ideas (some of which are brilliant and some of which aren’t so much). He’s the only one of the three who genuinely enjoys his other co-workers, but then he also doesn’t realize that either of them aren’t especially fond of him. TAKEN BY LIZZY.

FIOLLA CHARREL | ANGELINA JOLIE

✝ Age: (37) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Savina Sen, Alessandra Tate (employees) ✝ Description: Fiolla owns all of the pleasure houses on Arvor, making her an extremely wealthy woman. She started small, but her business grew rapidly after she treated all of her girls with respect and paid them fairly: soon everyone wanted to work for her. Fiolla is charming and flirtatious towards her clients and, in contrast, is often cool and unapproachable at times to her employees. But don’t let her fool you: the truth is, she does genuinely care about all of her girls more than anything and she will not stand for anyone mistreating them. Once Fiolla takes you on, she is with you for life. She takes every precaution: from having security in the halls to checking the clients when they arrive. Still, there have been incidents where the rules have been broken and her girls end up hurt and that’s when Fiolla will secretly take matters into her own hands. Fiolla believes in “an eye for an eye” and doesn’t trust the law to enforce this. Do not cross Fiolla Charrel, or you will have to deal with the consequences. EZRA COBURN | WOODY HARRELSON

✝ Age: (50) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Zetha Brood (cousin) ✝ Description: In the age of Old Avor, Ezra served on the Valerian council. He always believed in the Valerian family and saw, himself, the good that they were able to do for Velorum Nocate. When the dust settled after the Quasar take over, however, Ezra was to face death for his loyalty to the Valerians. Instead, he proclaimed his loyalty to the Quasars and betrayed the location of where many Valerian loyalists were hiding. In return, Ezra was given his life and a comfortable living. To this day, he hasn’t forgiven himself. He has often thought about speaking out against the Quasars, but he knows all that that will get him now is his own death. He should have helped the rebels when he could: but now (as far as he knows) they’ve all died out. He doesn’t have much hope for the future: he thinks that things will only get worse and if a rebellion does happen, it will only end with thousands dead and the Quasars as ruthless as ever. Ezra’s been entertaining himself these past sixteen years by slowly drinking himself to death. RYLAND DAKK | DOUGLAS BOOTH

✝ Age: (23) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Aram Quasar, Garren Reid (fellow council members), Gaylia Melvar (interest) ✝ Description: Ryland cares little for politics or the good of Velorum Nocate: still he’s an avid fan of his job. It isn’t the actual work he enjoys, so much as the benefits. An impressive salary paired with planet-wide recognition, is all that matters to him. Ryland secured his seat after his father served until Jaren Quasar (and later Aram) and it was only with his death three months ago that Ryland rose to his father’s place. If the Quasars had not promised a place on the council to the Dakk family, Ryland would have nothing to recommend him to this post. For the most part, he sides with Aram to make his job easier. He finds the council meetings boring and he’s often counting the minutes until he can leave. He’s much more concerned with spending his money, watching the fights in the arena, and flirting with pretty girls. Ryland is charming, sarcastic, cruel, and narcissistic. TAKEN BY KATE AA.

HALLENA DAVANI | MICHELLE DOCKERY

✝ Age: (31) ✝ Location: Traveler ✝ Relationships: Nia Melvar (childhood best friend) ✝ Description: Hallena’s parents were wealthy Valerian loyalists who were put to death six years ago for being traitors, which sent both of Hallena’s younger brothers to die in the arena. Since then, Hallena’s life has been drastically different. She had been a wealthy socialite her entire life, but everything she owned was claimed by the Quasars and Hellena was forced to work. She’s a travel attendant for interplanetary travel. She hates her new life and will often complain about the travelers or her small apartment on Arvor to anyone who listens. While it may seem that Hallena misses her lifestyle, rather than her family: this couldn’t be farther from the truth. While she certainly does miss the easy and luxurious life she left behind, she would gladly give it all up to have her family back. She complains about everything else in her life to try to distract herself from the fact that they are all gone and not coming back. TAKEN BY KATE AA.

IELLA DREIT | ZOE SALDANA

✝ Age: (34) ✝ Location: Traveler ✝ Relationships: Jakar Arrel (ex-boyfriend) ✝ Description: Iella’s mother died when she was six years old and ever since then, she’s followed her father around Velorum Nocate. He worked as a navigator and now, so is Iella. She’s never really had a real home and it feels strange to stay in one place for too long. Since her father died, she’s had few lasting relationships of any kind. Her romantic interests tend to last for a few months or two, but in the end she always breaks them off. She’s always known that she wasn’t going to settle down with anyone and the casual thing has always worked for her. Until, that is, Jakar Arrel. She dated him for almost a year (a personal record) when he up and left without much explanation. Iella had always believed that it had something to do with the fact that his younger brother was sentenced to the arena and that he needed time, but he never contact her again and Iella hasn’t been able to track him down. It’s been four years and Iella acts as though she’s moved on, but she hasn’t. She thinks that she may have loved Jakar and that they might have been able to build a life together. Sometimes, she worries that he didn’t love her back and others, she worries that something horrible has happened to him. Iella has become ever more closed off since she lost Jakar. Before him, she had always been the one to end things, but she doesn’t want to taste rejection ever again. TAKEN BY KATE AA.

JANIA DURON | EMILY BROWNING

✝ Age: (24) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: n/a ✝ Description: Jania grew up in the dark nightclub where her mother worked as a dancer/singer/stripper. She would often ask questions of her father that her mother would brush off without answering and it wasn’t until much later (after her mother’s death) that she found out that her mother had been raped by one of her customers, resulting in her conception. Her mother’s treatment of her had always left Jania confused – one moment she could be tender and caring and the next she seemed to never want to lay eyes on her ever again. It wasn’t until she found out about her father, that this made sense. Despite having had dreams of a different life, Jania has followed in her mother’s footsteps. She never had much formal education and she has few contacts outside of her current lifestyle. Jania has driven in lots of new business, thanks to her youth and beauty, but also her voice. She has notable talent in what she does and her boss, eager to keep her, has even started paying her more money. She’s never been especially materialistic and she hides her extra pay underneath her mattress: saving up for a different life. What Jania doesn’t want to admit to herself, is that she’s afraid of the change; afraid of the failure and that she will will likely never take that leap and that her dreams will remain just that. REID GARREN | AIDAN GILLEN

✝ Age: (44) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Ryland Dakk, Aram Quasar (fellow council members) ✝ Description: The Garren family has been secretly loyal to the Quasars for generations. Reid’s brother (now deceased) even served to captain the army that invaded Reva when the Quasars took the throne. It was through his family connections that Reid obtained his council seat. He’s been situated on the council since early the days of Jaren I and now he serves Aram. Despite his family ties, Reid has little loyalty to anyone but himself. Still, he’s not especially ambitious: he has no desire to play the game of thrones. Instead, he’d rather gather use his seat of influence to watch as the world burns. He’d rather destroy the game, than try to play. He’s a master of manipulation, however, and he’s also patient and he’s used the past twenty years to prove himself to the Quasars, even if he truly cares little for what happens to them. He likes to create chaos and watch as it unfolds. In fact, he’s the only person who is aware of another threat to Velorum Nocate.  He knows that the star system of Volantis Mensae has depleted all of their resources and that they are looking to Velorum Nocate to claim for their own. He means to withhold this information for as long as he can, in hopes that the external threat will strike during the height of the civil war he knows is coming. TAKEN BY LIZZY.

ELAIZA KLAKK | LENA HEADEY

✝ Age: (38) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Enora Masek (cousin) ✝ Description: Elaiza was once one of the most skilled fight pilots in Velorum Nocate … but that was before the plague. While Elaiza’s job often took her all over the universe, her three children lived on her home planet of Reva and they were all three there when the plague struck. Eliaiza raced home as soon as the news reached her and tried to get them all to Arvor to get the cure, but in the end, she was too late. The disease had taken hold fast and the youngest was dead even before she arrived. She hasn’t returned home to Reva since and now she works on Arvor as an instructor to future fighter pilots. Elaiza mostly keeps to herself when she isn’t working. She’s still grieving for the loss of her children and she knows she always will. TAKEN BY KATE AA.

KRESTARA KLOY | KAREN GILLAN

✝ Age: (27) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: n/a ✝ Description: Krestara grew up on Karth, but came to Arvor when she was eighteen with her ailing father. She took a job in the public archives because it was close to the hospitals, but she fell in love with it there. Even though her father has been dead for the past eight years, Krestara has remained in the city. Most of the archives are digital, but Krestara’s favorite place in the building are the old books that are stored there and she spends all of her free time in the library. Krestara has become something of a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the history of the cities of Arvor and she can tell you everything from the population count to the list of every emperor who has ever ruled Velorum Nocate. BALEK  KOTH | BURN GORMAN

✝ Age: (38) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Lux Carac, Zan Ralter (fellow scientists/annoyances) ✝ Description: Balek was the youngest member of the team that helped the Quasar clone army so it was ready to attack Velorum Nocate. He’s extremely proud of his accomplishments since it was a lot of his own work that promoted the prototypes to readiness. Now, Balek runs a lot of his own where he continues to update and improve the army. Balek hails from Byssya and to meet him, you’d know it. He’s extremely dedicated to his work and doesn’t have much of a life outside of it. He’s extremely organized and a perfectionist. He’s much more concerned with facts and numbers and less about emotions. He isn’t fond of either of his fellow scientists and wishes that he’d be allowed to take over their work. It grates on him how Zan Ralter is more intelligent than he is and he is often annoyed by Lux’s hyper energy. Whenever Balek can, he tries to lock himself in his office, but this doesn’t always stop Zan from pranking him or Lux from coming in and blathering on about nonsense. OPEN.

CYMON KORR | KARL URBAN

✝ Age: (40) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Cyria Korr (sister), Zander Arrel, Zena Halcard, Nial Rook, Rora Savik, Orion Tark, Jaeme Wes, Tira Xon (subjects) ✝ Description: Even though he’s the older Korr sibling, Cymon has always followed his younger sister around. On his own, he prefers to spend his days quietly with his books, but he often finds himself following Cyria off on whatever plans she’s made for the day. (He may grumble at her, but in the end, he often ends up enjoying himself). Cymon was studying to be a professor and had plans to eventually move to Byssya, when Cyria took up spearing heading the documentary crew that gave Arvor a behind the scenes look at the fights in the arena … and somehow Cymon became her cameraman and he’s been there ever since. Cymon and Cyria are a good team. They balance each other well and thankfully for everyone, Cymon’s always there to smooth things over when Cyria asks a question to get a reaction and forgets to think about the feelings of their subjects. Unlike his sister, Cymon still feels the horrors of the arena and he has thoughts of leaving Arvor, but he knows that he will never actually leave his sister. Still, Cymon wants to help the fighters, somehow, not exploit them. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. TAKEN BY TINA RAE.

CYRIA KORR | NATALIE DORMER

✝ Age: (31) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Cymon Korr (brother), Zander Arrel, Zena Halcard, Nial Rook, Rora Savik, Orion Tark, Jaeme Wes, Tira Xon (subjects) ✝ Description: Cyria’s always been fascinated by film. When she was younger, she wanted to make historical epics, but now she’s doing something better: documentaries. Her father worked in promotions for the arena fights when Cyria was in her late teens and it was his idea to have Cyria film behind the scenes. For the past twelve years, Cyria has followed the young fighters and reported on their experiences. Cyria has become desensitized towards their situation over the years and she often asks questions when interviewing them that will get the best audience response, versus being sympathetic to their feelings. Cyria may be the younger of the Korr siblings, but she’s the leader. She recruited her older brother into helping her and he’s been her cameraman ever since. Cyria is known for being intense and at times, intimidating, while working and Cymon is the only one who can refocus her when she becomes too obsessive with getting the perfect shot or the most shocking answer to her interview questions. DATHNAEYA LONE | JENNA LOUISE COLEMAN

✝ Age: (27) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Areta Meriet (co-worker/best friend), Taryn Zahara (boyfriend), Obron Melvar (frequent customer) ✝ Description: Dathna is easily one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, but she’s also incredibly naive and her head tends to be in the clouds, more times than not. She’s currently with serial dater Taryn Zahara and she thinks she’s in love with him. She doesn’t realize that he’s not nearly as serious about her as she is about him. While Dathna is daydreaming about their wedding, Taryn is scouting out his next fling. She’s been warned by her friends that he’s no good, but Dathnaeya is convinced that he’s not the guy they think he is. Dathna’s been working as a waitress for the past ten years. NIA MELVAR | JESSICA ALBA

✝ Age: (32) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Obron Melvar, Gaylia Melvar (siblings), Torian Cambral (ex-boyfriend), Hallena Davani (childhood best friend), Yvana Cain (best friend) ✝ Description: Nia’s always loved the capital. She knows it’s not the same city it was when she was a child, but she’s eager to help with it’s restoration. Working as an architect, Nia is resurrecting the city (although making sure her designs are more Quasar than Valarian). She’s especially pleased when her brother, Obron, works to bring her designs to life. Nia is proud of both of her siblings (although she’s something of a mother hen, even though their parents are still alive, and she worried when Gaylia was traveling around Velorum Nocate and she’s much happier that she’s settled again in the capital). Nia is generally friendly and sincere, but she can be prejudice. She doesn’t have much patience for people she deems to be irresponsible and unfocused. TAKEN BY LIZZY.
