LUX CARAC | CHARLIE DAY

✝ Age: (36) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Balek Koth, Zan Ralter (fellow scientists) ✝ Description: Lux works with both Balek and Zan on the Quasar army. While he has some hesitations about creating something so powerful and then handing it over to the Quasars to control, Lux often gets too distracted by the projects in the lab to linger too long on his moral concerns. Lux is always full of energy and he often thinks faster than he thinks – and half of the things he ends up saying don’t make sense to anyone. He constantly has new ideas (some of which are brilliant and some of which aren’t so much). He’s the only one of the three who genuinely enjoys his other co-workers, but then he also doesn’t realize that either of them aren’t especially fond of him. TAKEN BY LIZZY.

MALIK CARDY | CHARLIE HUNNAM

✝ Age: (33) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Daron Cardy (brother), Taryn Zahara (former best friend), Yvana Cain (ex-girlfiend) ✝ Description: Although his parents were secret Valerian loyalists and tried to instruct their children to be the same, Malik was quickly swept up into the Quasar agenda. As soon as he was old enough, he joined the Quasar army. He was never able to convince his parents to embrace the Quasars, as he had, but he was able to influence his younger brother. Malik had been stationed on Reva for the past eight years where he was promoted to Captain. During that time, however, he realized that the Quasars were not everything he had once thought they were and that things will only get worse unless they are removed from power. Still, he’s seen how they deal with rebels and traitors and most of Velorum Nocate is too scared to do anything about it. They know they aren’t only risking their lives, but the lives of their loved ones, too. Malick isn’t sure what to do, but he no longer believes in the cause he’s devoted his entire life to. VALEN DREIS | CHRISTIAN BALE

✝ Age: (38) ✝ Location: Vaane ✝ Relationships: Arantha Harand (interest), Mira Harand (charge), Dex Carrow (childhood friend), Ren Valance (frenemy), Talia Vantel (friend)  ✝ Description: Valen never knew much about his parents except that his father served in the last King of Vaane’s kingsguard his entire life. Valen was orphaned at a young age and it had always been his desire to serve as his father once had. When he was twenty-two years old, he was in his last year of training for this, when the Quasars took over. He wasn’t able to get to the King and Queen in time, but it was his quick thinking in the presence of danger that he was able to get the three princesses to safety and it is because of him that they survived. When Arantha became queen, she knew that he was one of the few people that she could trust and placed him as Captain of her Queensguard and he’s been at this post ever since. Over the years, he’s developed romantic feelings for Arantha, but he knows that she will have to make a political marriage and he never intends to say anything about it to anyone.  TAKEN BY LIZZY.

CARESSA HARAND, EMPRESS OF VELORUM NOCATE, QUEEN OF ARVOR, PRINCESS OF VAANE | ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY

✝ Age: (26) ✝ Location: Arvor ✝ Relationships: Arantha Harand, Mira Harand (sisters), Aram Quasar (husband), Xia Tomak (future sister-in-law/friend), Leck Quasar (brother-in-law), Adriaenne Tark (lady-in-waiting)  ✝ Description: Caressa was ten years old when the Quasars took over Velorum Nocate. The Harands were one of their fiercest resisters, but in the end they, like the others, fell to Quasars. Caressa’s parents were publically executed, serving as both a warning and a threat to those who would seek to oppose the new Emperor. Ressa was at her sister’s side when she became Queen and she’s been her closest friend and advisor since. After Arantha saw that Vaane was strengthened, she and Ressa began plotting to overthrow the Quasars with Torul Molec with an alliance that would be sealed between a marriage with Torul and Ressa. In the end, rumors reached the emperor that the Harands may be a threat and Ressa was married, instead to Aram. Although it was never said, Ressa and her sister both know that this marriage was meant to stop any plans of rebellion they may have otherwise made. Ressa suspects that since Aram Quasar decided to settle this peacefully, rather than violence, that he was truly concerned as to how much the Harand’s rebelling could hurt his position. The entire planet of Vaane stands firmly behind the Harands and if something should happen to their queen or one of her sisters, he may still have a rebellion yet. But by marrying a Harand and putting their child on the throne after him, he may gain Vaanish support. Despite the risks to herself, however, Ressa wants her sister to continue to plot against her Quasars. Currently, Ressa is a few months pregnant with Aram’s son and heir. If the Quasars are never overthrown, she hopes her son will prove to be an Emperor worthy of Velorum Nocate, but she fears that it is likely that Aram will have her killed as soon as the child is born and he has no more use for her.  TAKEN BY LIZZY.

BRIE TRAYVIS | TERESA PALMER

✝ Age: (25) ✝ Location: Byssya ✝ Relationships: Arthun Secura (best friend), Reina Farnmir (childhood friend) ✝ Description: Brie was orphaned when she was nine. Her mother died when she was born and her father died fighting against the Quasars during their take over. He had been a fighter pilot in the Byssian army. Brie had always been at her father’s side, growing up, and she could fly a ship by the time he had died. She spent the rest of her childhood living in an orphanage: where she met Reina Farnmir. Brie had always been incredibly determined: which is how she landed her job as Byssian’s first female fighter pilot. They turned her away time and again because of her sex, until she hijacked one of their ships and proved to them just how good she was. KIRA ZAREEN [ BORN AVAENA VALERIAN, RIGHTFUL HEIR TO VELORUM NOCATE AND ARVOR ]  | JENNIFER LAWRENCE

✝ Age: (24) ✝ Location: Traveler ✝ Relationships: Azyriah Bane (friend/mentor/protector), Adriaenne Tark, Sera Tark, Orion Tark (cousins), Aram Quasar, Leck Quasar (enemies) ✝ Description: Avaena’s entire family was murdered when the Quasars took the throne. It was only by chance that she escaped. Aurra Kell was able to smuggle her into a hidden crawl space where the two of them hid for weeks until they were able to flee the capital safely. Everyone in Valorum Nocate believes her to be dead. There was a ship that tried to flee from the palace, but was shot down before it could escape. The remains were too destroyed to confirm who had been aboard, but witnesses confirmed that Avaena’s two sisters had been aboard and it was thought that she was most likely with them. For sixteen years she’s been on the run with Azyriah, all the while being trained by her for the day when she will seize Velorum Nocate back from the Quasars.  TAKEN BY LIZZY.
