#.txt #anyways y’all after much deliberation here is my stance on the discourse #the community was made to give support and resources to those affected by homophobia and transphobia so if you dont experience either #(Directly since misdirected homophobia and transphobia happen and is usually the type of ‘oppression/prejudice’ people who are cis/straight #and ace/aro experience)#so if you dont experience those things thats cool and be glad that you dont have to worry abt that shit #i still support non-lgbt+ ace/aro ppl but like. y’all would benefit so much more from a community designed for the needs of ace/aro people #that arent also lgbt because trying to tack those identities on the end of the acronym and start participating in community spaces & events #will honestly be more counterproductive than anything since cis/straight ace/aro people have so many different lived experiences than those #who arent cis/straight as well as being ace DUE to the fact that they experience homophobia and transphobia #tldr #if yr ace/aro and not trans or attracted to a similar gender youre still uwu Valid and those are valid identities but that doesnt make yall #lgbt by default just because ace/aro identities arent accepted as widely as cis/straight people who arent ace/aro #but honestly cis/straight ace/aro people are still more widely accepted than anyone who is lgbt due to the reasons ive gone over previously #and nobody needs to know yr asexual since that is information about your sex life and how you experience sexual attraction and libido #which nobody needs or wants to know when y’all are just giving out unsolicited sexual info about yrself

lots of homophobia is violent, but there’s a quieter type that’s just as damaging, just as dangerous. the kind that comes from the mouths of loved ones when they say “god, not every movie needs to have gays in it” and when they say they are fine with gay ppl “despite their sin” and when they act uncomfortable when they see gay ppl. it gets inside ur head, tells u ur wrong, tells u to hate urself. it sneaks up behind you and makes you put on a mask
