🧬 tip that’s been helpful in case anyone hasn’t done this:

go on a company’s trustpilot and search “miśsing” or “parcel” in the search bar.

this will let you know how the company responds to actual missing parcels - like whether they only reship or offer a refund too.

this is especially helpful for company’s that aren’t talked about much on tumblr/no one else has done.

I formally denied it had been received, “signed” that thing they make you sign with investigations and they just gave me my money back before the investigation had even finished. I think I was lucky? I ordered beauty products but I heard electronics are harder to dna because there’s extra checks.

Hi girl x I’m sorry you’re in such a pickle 😩 dm me the exact emails you’ve been getting and I’ll be able to help in a more in depth way. Anyway.. I’m never that fussed about gps tracking tbh because it could have potentially been taken from my porch by a random person walking past. That’s the method I always follow, get it delivered outside, complain it didn’t arrive, no proof it has been taken in and they have to give me my money back. Or if it is put through the post box w a pic I complain it’s got a hole in it in the side that’s not visible in the pic. Literally always works.

If they have a pic and it’s of you bringing it in at the door never attempt a dna. I only ever attempt when the parcel has been left outside. I realise saying that isn’t useful right now but learn from this to never answer the door. If you did take it in at the door you can either take the L and make something up - say you found the parcel, that your sister put it under the stairs but you couldn’t find it for days or whatever etc etc (and then return the parcel later😋), or keep insisting you don’t know the person at the door and that isn’t your house. I’ve never done that tho.

If it was left outside then just keep insisting that you haven’t received it. As far as they know you’re a perfectly legitimate customer who has had your parcel nicked from your front porch.

Once upon a time I felt the need to prove myself here on l1ftblr, and to impress/show off. Here’s the thing though, it’s never worth it and if anything, you’re tempted to do more than you maybe should for the wrong reasons. I don’t post pics anymore for this reason and will prob go back and delete them. I keep pics for the ~memories~ in my locked notes, but that’s it. We’ve got to stop prioritizing these things over safety, that should always be #1. Be vigilant about protecting yourself friends.

i’ve never posted a haul and never will. it makes me paranoid enough even describing the events that have happened, in specific shops. people are so traceable it’s insane, have you seen those tiktoks where people are tracked from an empty profile because of something like their profile pic or combination of numbers in their url? I have no doubt if p*lice wanted to they could identify all of us, but th*ft isn’t a serious enough cr*me anymore to warrant the time, money and effort spent on tracking people from here. i assume you all know about “anti” weirdos though, who dedicate their time to identifying and reporting us - and that is enough to put you off posting hauls or going into too much detail about anything.

digital footprint is real. when you delete posts they’re never really deleted on tumblr, people can still reblog from other people who have reblogged your post. all of your content is still in the database even if you edit your post or deactivate your blog. this isn’t like twitter or instagram. the wayback machine is also a thing, trawling the web for pages to snapshot. don’t think turning off your blog in search results will stop that either. the best way to avoid being traced is to avoid giving up the info or posting the pics in the first place. when you press the post button you gift your words or that picture to potentially the whole world, you are never going to be able to control it once it’s out there.

it’s why i never go into real detail often, i don’t post my age, i keep my profile really vague, i don’t post pictures and i definitely wouldn’t post pictures of a unique combination of items, with the shops listed, with the £ amount listed, without a plain unidentifiable background. that’s just stupid. be vague. listing different shops is unlikely to help anyone anyway, security measures for shops change from branch to branch from shopping centre to shopping centre.

if you want to share information then teach people how to actually identify easy or hard shops, how to scout/scan shops for blind spots, for LP or security or barriers or RFID tags, what to expect from a high street shop vs a superstore, how to lift in a busy shop or a quiet shop, how to use the dressing room to your advantage, how to not give off shoplifter energy, how to stay calm, and how to be calm and clever and to stay coherent and rational when you’re caught (because you will be eventually🥵).

i’ve seen people basically saying “oh, boots is sooo easy! it’s so safe in the printing section”…… it will without a doubt be different in every shop, and different depending on the time of day and time of year too. you have to use different strategies. you have to learn to read the person and situation, and to use this skill to use a different manipulation technique when you’re caught depending on the person who has caught you. you can’t say one thing just works when the individual situations are going to be so different. anyway i’ve gone way off track here 🫢

a good rule - for most things boasting and showing off won’t help you in any way- online or in real life. be proud of yourself for the naughty things you do in private or amongst close friends! i don’t need the approval of strangers and neither do you 💘

Got caught today at M&S lol. Could have gone worse. I was just told “are you going to pay for the bits you have in your trolley?” my friend alleged that we’d left them behind upstairs but they were literally in the trolley so I used the self checkout, paid, and left. I was still wearing a bra underneath my top and had shoes in my bag. So not all was lost. I tried getting away with some other bits hidden underneath my bags but they took those away as well. They literally looked in my bags in the trolley, it’s good i had a magazine on top of everything. Lesson learned - don’t go back to the same place you’ve lifted from before. oops.

what do i do during an investigation? it’s my first one - i’ve been so good at avoiding them so far but i’m a bit nervous now it’s actually happening. do the delivery drivers stop leaving things outside after an investigation? i usually rely on the driver leaving things outside and claiming they have disappeared. i hope this won’t fuck up my whole method. will my address be marked? now i’m regretting the purchase and wishing i got different things - the stuff i got wasn’t even good 😩
