Happy birthday, Frantz Fanon! (July 20, 1925)

One of the most enduring and influential anti-colonial theorists of all time, Frantz Fanon became acquainted with racist colonial violence growing up on the French Caribbean colony of Martinique. During World War II, Fanon enlisted with the Free French forces, and experienced further racism from Europeans during his time fighting fascists on the continent. After the war, he studied psychiatry as his political consciousness continued to grow, and in 1952 he published Black Skin, White Masks, which discussed the psychological impact of colonialism on Black people. He worked as a psychiatrist in Algeria for a time before deciding that he could no longer support the French colonial project in Africa and defected to join Algeria's National Liberation Front in its struggle for freedom. He continued to put out a number of influential texts, including his last and most famous, The Wretched of the Earth. In poor health, Fanon died in 1961 at the tragically young age of 36, but his legacy is outsized for his age, having influenced a bevy of revolutionary figures, including Che Guevara, Malcom X, Kwame Ture, and Huey P. Newton.

Mao as always, echos truth into modern times, we see backward tendencies going against Marxism through idealistic moralisms finding common cause with western state propaganda. These backward western tendencies sit lavishly in the imperial cores on top of the blood and plunder of the global south with all the resources available to them to research anything but they refuse to make use of and study dialectical and historical materialism to see through obvious propaganda.

Some of the most egregiously gory and disheartening examples of the western imperialism live streamed for all to see has only shifted a much of the western left into the acceptance of social imperialism. Acceptance of candidates like Mamdani for a bigger cut of the imperial plunder at the cost of revolutionary momentum. This complacency has cost them time for the fascist state to fund itself against communism.

While things in the imperial cores are bleak, this is nothing new, and not all is lost, in fact, we are seeing a major shift in hegemonic and military power. Right-wing Washington think tank pieces highlight strategies against perceived enemies such as Overextending and unbalancing Russia and Which path to Persia show us they are taking their self-admitted least likely options of success simultaniouly. As expected, it is backfiring. It is overextending the capitalist world and bringing the global south together in hegemonic solidarity and renewed strength.

As these contradictions deepen, our tasks become clear: Keep agitating, educating and correcting backwardness in communist circles. The collapse of the imperial core creates the cracks; we must ensure organized forces are ready to step through them. We only need certain states suffeciently overextended or militant revolutionaries available at the correct historical moments to topple empire completely. The red sun will rise over all lands and bring about an age beyond barbarism.

If you're looking for information on something specific I can give you some direction or if you want a good book that challenges anti-communist propaganda "Stalin: History and critique of a black legend by Domenico Losurdo" is a good place to start.

I would be remiss not to mention Dialectical and historical materialism by Stalin himself. It's an important text for any Communist that basically outlines how we should understand history and events not as a snapshot incident but as the result of everything leading up to it and after if available. we end up missing vital details that often tell a very different reality than what is proposed especially with western accounts of things.
