My name is Myo and I am a priestess. I follow what is colloquially known as âthe Voidâ, or âVoid motherâ. Feel free to contact me with questions or issues. All basic info can be found in my masterpost: http://voidpriestess.tumblr.com/post/67192289492/void-mother-masterpost
What's the difference between void and umbra energy?
Umbra energy is more like the lack of strong light. Itâs night, shadow, the shade on a hot day. Void energy is more like the lack of both light and darkness. Itâs the centre of a black hole, the emptiness of space, the memory of a flame that went out long ago.Â
I've heard void is really useful for healing. Could you write a post about it? Why is void beneficial for healing, and how is it better than other elements? What kind of energy system issues in particular is it great for healing? Thanks so much!
Iâll happily answer that one. When healing with void energy itâs mostly used to clear out unwanted things (like disinfecting a wound) so you can heal naturally. This can be used to destroy excess negativity, toxic thinking, links with toxic people etc. Other elements can also wash away these things but will often leave residue that can sometimes cause problems to come back. Void energy is mostly used as a last resort as it can be quite harsh. It should be used like a surgeons scalpel more that a salt bath. I hope this helps.Â
Hi, I'm interested in learning void work but I have never managed to accomplish ANYTHING magickal in my life. Was I corrupted by my xian upbringing? I've been told my throat chakra is horribly blocked but 1/idk how relevant that is and 2/I've tried to fix it up but every time I've tried meditating on it, save only for the first time, i've just fallen asleep instead.
I have a similar problem when meditating to be honest. I find just turning off all the lights and blocking out any other sources of light, and just seeing what reaches out to you is a good place to start. The light can be distracting. Unlearning old ways of thinking can be tough but it doesnât have to happen over night, go at your own pace. If something doesnât work for you, try something else. I find verbal spells almost impossible but none verbal spells are easy for me. Itâs all about finding what works for you. How you connect to everything in your own unique way. :)
Iâm both pro herbal medicine and pro vaccination because you can treat burns with aloe vera juice and sore throats with lavender infused honey but you canât rid a country of polio with plants.Â
Does the Void Mother refuse to work with anyone who interacts with/worships the Abrahamic god/yahweh? If so, why? (Feel free to make an info post of this if text post format is preferred)
She doesnât refuse but sheâd probably be confused as theyâre completely incompatible. The Abrahamic god has never been one to share and is pretty opposed to most of what Void mother stands for.Â
With Void energys natural ability to consume other kinds and purify efficiently it is perfect to exorcising everything from old buildings to new development areas.Â
Most spirits will make a fast retreat in the very presence of Void energy but itâs best not to immediately throw energy around when you havenât identified what spirit youâre facing. Always begin with a polite approach, after all, they way they see it you are in their space.Â
Sometimes clarifying the situation with them is enough to empty an area. If that doesnât work then you can start showing what kind of energy youâre armed with.Â
With child spirits it may take a little more as they may not understand whatâs going on. I find child spirits arenât as frightened of Void energy as others as they seem to understand that your intent isnât to harm them. Itâs the same way some children can see spirits but hold no fear of them where an adult would.Â
Human spirits will leave at the hint of Void energy 99% of the time unless they are extremely stubborn or particularly toxic. These spirits that are left are what Void clergy are most often asked to deal with. Often a skilled practitioner can permanently banish the spirit quickly and without violence.Â
Any spirit or energy above this level must be judged on a case by case basis. We prefer to take a diplomatic approach but if all else fails we have been known to forcibly purify an area, reducing all energy to nothing.Â
If youâre worried about possible haunting in a new home you can hang a charm made by a Void priestess above the door. If you cannot contact a Void priestess then you can make a lesser charm yourself. You can find symbols on my last post. A small charm with the simplified Void eye symbol inside can be used to bless any home. Â
A) A symbol for inviting the Void into any place or ritual.
B) A symbol used for purifying and getting rid of unwanted energy.
C) A symbol specifically used in areas of Void worship
D) A set of symbols to protect any doorway . These symbols can be drawn very small or with UV reactive ink if you wish for them to stay unseen.
I know it seems odd to go in to but as many people hide behind their beliefs when they donât want to use vaccines I thought it would be good to discuss it.
One of the main rules of Void following is to never harm and innocent. This means animals and children. By not vaccinating your child who can be vaccinated you are harming your child and children that medically cannot be vaccinated.Â
Many antivaxxers say that theyâre trying to protect their children from the chemicals used in the vaccines themselves. Going by that logic they should also never let their children eat apples due to the trace amounts of cyanide in apple seeds. Itâs misconception that vaccines arenât tested in lab before being given to the public. Vaccines are safe.Â
Next we have the famous âvaccines cause autismâ argument. In short they donât. The man who started that nonesence was trying to pedal his own singular vaccine instead of using the combined MMR vaccine. He was a con man and that is all.Â
Today I want to talk about cults, or at least what many people think of as a cult. A cult isnât just a group of people with a belief system that is outside of the norm, a cult is something we can scientifically prove.Â
Today weâre looking at the BITE model of cult mind control and how the Void is apposed to such things. The info of what the BITE model is comes from freedomofmind.com.Â
Letâs get started:
âSteven Hassan's BITE Model of Cult Mind Control
Many people think of mind control as an ambiguous, mystical process that cannot be defined in concrete terms. In reality, mind control refers to a specific set of methods and techniques, such as hypnosis or thought- stopping, that influence how a person thinks, feels, and acts. Like many bodies of knowledge, it is not inherently good or evil. If mind control techniques are used to empower an individual to have more choice, and authority for his life remains within himself, the effects can be beneficial. For example, benevolent mind control can be used to help people quit smoking without affecting any other behavior. Mind control becomes destructive when the locus of control is external and it is used to undermine a personâs ability to think and act independently.
As employed by the most destructive cults, mind control seeks nothing less than to disrupt an individualâs authentic identity and reconstruct it in the image of the cult leader. I developed the BITE model to help people determine whether or not a group is practicing destructive mind control. The BITE model helps people understand how cults suppress individual member's uniqueness and creativity. BITE stands for the cult's control of an individual's Behavior, Intellect, Thoughts, and Emotions.
It is important to understand that destructive mind control can be determined when the overall effect of these four components promotes dependency and obedience to some leader or cause. It is not necessary for every single item on the list to be present. Mindcontrolled cult members can live in their own apartments, have nine-to-five jobs, be married with children, and still be unable to think for themselves and act independently.
We are all subject to influence from our parents, friends, teachers, co-workers... When this influence helps someone grow and maintain an internal locus of control, it is healthy. Influence which is used to keep people mindless and dependent is unhealthy.â
The BITE Model
I.Behavior Control
II.Information Control
III.Thought Control
IV.Emotional Control
Behavior Control
1. Regulate individualâs physical reality Void mother is a big supporter of freedom and temples rarely have living spaces inside, preferring to have their clergy living within the local communityÂ
2. Dictate where, how, and with whom the member lives and associates or isolates Following the Void also encourages mixing with those outside of the faith, not to convert anyone but to understand others beliefs.
3. When, how and with whom the member has sex What consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of our business
4. Control types of clothing and hairstyles Unless youâre a priest or priestess, who wear a uniform of sorts (only during ceremonies and services), youâre free to style yourself however you want to.
5. Regulate diet - food and drink, hunger and/or fasting The Void would prefer you have a healthy lifestyle but theyâre not going to make you do anything.
6. Manipulation and deprivation of sleep Sleep is important.
7. Financial exploitation, manipulation or dependence Though a temple appreciates donations they would never take money that youâd need. They prefer to run festivals and sell charms, food and items to raise funds.
8. Restrict leisure, entertainment, vacation time Life is for living
9. Major time spent with group indoctrination and rituals and/or self indoctrination including the Internet If and when you attend any gathering is completely up to you. To follow the void you donât have to be part of a group at all.
10. Permission required for major decisions Youâre an adult who can make their own decisions, the Void doesnât wish to change that.Â
11. Thoughts, feelings, and activities (of self and others) reported to superiors We donât meddle in your life.
12. Rewards and punishments used to modify behaviors, both positive and negative You might be kicked out of a gathering for being an asshole but other than that, no.
13. Discourage individualism, encourage group-think Individuality is heavily supported.
14. Impose rigid rules and regulations Not really
15. Instill dependency and obedience Independence is also very important and is encouraged. Weâre happy to support you if you need it but we want you to be able to support yourself.
16. Threaten harm to family and friends Never!
17. Force individual to rape or be raped This would be against everything the Void believes. You would be outcast for doing such a thing.
18. Encourage and engage in corporal punishment We are none violent
Information Control:.Â
1.Deception:
 a. Deliberately withhold information I feel Iâve always been pretty open, as have others Iâve worked with
 b. Distort information to make it more acceptable Honesty is a big part of following the Void. She is pure truth.
 c. Systematically lie to the cult member As above
2. Minimize or discourage access to non-cult sources of information, including:
 a. Internet, TV, radio, books, articles, newspapers, magazines, other media We have no control, or wish to control, what you read or view
b.Critical information If itâs critical weâd rather discuss it than hide it.
 c. Former members Unless it would damage the past member weâre open with all of our people
 d. Keep members busy so they donât have time to think and investigate Weâre pretty hands off so nope.
 e. Control through cell phone with texting, calls, internet tracking None of our business
3. Compartmentalize information into Outsider vs. Insider doctrines
 a. Ensure that information is not freely accessible All info should be shared
b.Control information at different levels and missions within group nope
 c. Allow only leadership to decide who needs to know what and when Being hands off means this doesnât happen
4. Encourage spying on other members
 a. Impose a buddy system to monitor and control member Weâre not children
b.Report deviant thoughts, feelings and actions to leadership Iâm not sure what a deviant thought would even be
 c. Ensure that individual behavior is monitored by group nope. You do you friends.
5. Extensive use of cult-generated information and propaganda, including:
 a. Newsletters, magazines, journals, audiotapes, videotapes, YouTube, movies and other media Nope. Thereâs very little out there.
b.Misquoting statements or using them out of context from non-cult sources Misquoting is the same as lying
6. Unethical use of confession
 a. Information about sins used to disrupt and/or dissolve identity boundaries nope
 b. Withholding forgiveness or absolution As an individual I could forgive you for doing something but itâs on you to find forgiveness from those youâve hurt.
 c. Manipulation of memory, possible false memories No.
Thought Control
1. Require members to internalise the groupâs doctrine as truth
 a. Adopting the group's âmap of realityâ as reality Questioning everything is how we grow as people
 b. Instill black and white thinking Everything is shades of greyÂ
 c. Decide between good vs. evil Actions can be harmful and âevilâ but there needs to be context in all things.
 d. Organize people into us vs. them (insiders vs. outsiders) People are people. There is no us and them
2.Change personâs name and identity. Your identity is yours. Only you can say what that is.
4. Encourage only âgood and properâ thoughts negativity is natural and needed to balance everything out.
5. Hypnotic techniques are used to alter mental states, undermine critical thinking and even to age regress the member Nope. If you want to meditate or anything then go ahead but nothingâs forced on people.
6. Memories are manipulated and false memories are created Itâs another form of lies.
7. Teaching thought-stopping techniques which shut down reality testing by stopping negative thoughts and allowing only positive thoughts, including:
 a. Denial, rationalization, justification, wishful thinking nope
 b. Chanting we sing sometimes during celebrations.
 c. Meditating only to help yourself relax if youâre stressed.
 d. Praying You can talk to Void mother if you want. Iâm not sure if that would be considered praying.
 e. Speaking in tongues no
 f. Singing or humming Singing during celebrationsÂ
8. Rejection of rational analysis, critical thinking, constructive criticism Quite the opposite. Critical thinking is encouraged.
9. Forbid critical questions about leader, doctrine, or policy allowed Nope.Â
10. Labeling alternative belief systems as illegitimate, evil, or not useful Nope. If a belief system helps someone then good for them
Emotional Control
1. Manipulate and narrow the range of feelings â some emotions and/or needs are deemed as evil, wrong or selfish Nope
2. Teach emotion-stopping techniques to block feelings of homesickness, anger, doubt nope. Itâs importance to be honest with yourself.
3. Make the person feel that problems are always their own fault, never the leaderâs or the groupâs fault If we mess up weâll be open and honest with it, nobodies perfect.
4. Promote feelings of guilt or unworthiness, such as
 a. Identity guilt nope
 b. You are not living up to your potential nope
 c. Your family is deficient no
 d. Your past is suspect no
 e. Your affiliations are unwise Unless youâre out doing criminal things, no.
 f. Your thoughts, feelings, actions are irrelevant or selfish Of course not.
 g. Social guilt no
 h. Historical guilt no
5. Instill fear, such as fear of:
 a. Thinking independently
 b. The outside world
 c. Enemies
 d. Losing oneâs salvation
 e. Leaving or being shunned by the group
 f. Otherâs disapproval
Big old nope for all of these. We have no need to instil fear in followers.
6. Extremes of emotional highs and lows â love bombing and praise one moment and then declaring you are horrible sinner hell no
7. Ritualistic and sometimes public confession of sins no
8. Phobia indoctrination: inculcating irrational fears about leaving the group or questioning the leaderâs authority
 a. No happiness or fulfillment possible outside of the group of course not. You live your life how you want to live it.
 b. Terrible consequences if you leave: hell, demon possession, incurable diseases, accidents, suicide, insanity, 10,000 reincarnations, etc. No. If you leave weâll miss you but thatâs it.
 c. Shunning of those who leave; fear of being rejected by friends, peers, and family No. friends are friends no matter their particular belief system.
 d. Never a legitimate reason to leave; those who leave are weak, undisciplined, unspiritual, worldly, brainwashed by family or counselor, or seduced by money, sex, or rock and roll. If you want to leave you can. Itâs not a problem.
What is absolutely necessary on the spiritual path is honesty. Above all else, it is honesty with yourself. If others deceive you, you can recover. If you deceive yourself, it is impossible to recover. Recovery will only happen when you drop your own BS and look at yourself directly.
And, here, we have the miscellany that didnât fit into the first three posts.
Look for mundane causes of events before assuming spiritual causes. Not everything is spirits, curses, or divine retribution.
Always ask why. Why do I think this? Why do I believe that?
Nobody has all the answers. Donât trust anybody who says that they do.
Nobodyâs spiritual path is superior to anyone elseâs.
Personal experience is not the same thing as empirically provable data, and it doesnât have to be. Thatâs what makes it a religion and not fact. Itâs not about proving whoâs right and whoâs not.
Donât give your money to strangers who promise salvation for the low, low price of $99.99!
Disclaimer: Please take into account that all of this is UPG (Unverified Personal Gnosis). My experiences working with Void entities are deeply personal and might not reflect your own experiences.
Having addressed this, I will jump right into it and talk a bit about Void energy.
Many people seem to think that all Void energy is the same. Outer space and emptiness are talked about as if they are interchangeable or equivalent. In my experience, this is definitely not the case. While there might be similarities between Outer Space Void and what I call âTrue Voidâ, there are also some very evident differences. In my case, I work with True Void entities primarily, and the things I will be discussing throughout this series are relating to and can usually only be applied or generalized to True Void spirits & energy.
Where can I find it?
True Void energy is most frequently found in True Void spaces in the astral (however, it surrounds us in negligible quantities no matter where we are). It also tends to congregate in liminal spaces, in places of transition, and in areas that have been abandoned or dead for a long time.
What are its uses?
While True Void energy harnessed by a skilled energy worker can do everything from healing to serious offensive damage, the most common uses for True Void energy that I have witnessed are Void-walking (traveling from one destination to another through Void spaces) and a derivative of shadow work. (I say a derivative of shadow work because commonly, shadow work is about acceptance or working with the shadow-self. True Void Shadow Work involves the manipulation of Void energy to control darkness/shadows).
Description:
In terms of a specific description, True Void energy has a magnetizing quality to it that is difficult to put into words or understand unless you have worked with it before. This energy is incredibly adaptable. Oftentimes, it will take on the qualities of surrounding energy. For example, if Void energy is found in an astral space heavily populated by fire elementals, it might acquire the same properties as the energy they give off. It might become warmer, more volatile, and also easier to handle.
Yet, Void energy would still remain unmistakablyâŠ.voidy. Youâd still feel an underlying dark, cold pull towards it. Itâd still be inexplicably heavy in your hands despite appearing almost insubstantial. Handling it for an extended of period of time would still leave you with the odd impression of frostbite dancing on your fingertips.
Working with it:
Working with True Void energy might leave you feeling ill or drained (especially if you are not âalignedâ with it). Handling this type of energy is much more difficult for humans than handling other energy sources, due to the fact that most living things are not compatible with it.
Added to this, Void energy has the interesting property of âtakingâ from its non-native users (especially if they are not highly proficient at energy manipulation and knowledgeable of Void energy specifically). For an unprepared energy worker, it might replicate the effects of an energy parasite. These effects (physical, emotional, and energetic) might be felt for days after having worked with it. Think of it like a really terrible hangover.
My belief as to why True Void energy has this specific effect on things is that it tends to consume what is in its path in an effort to return it to a balanced, chaotic state. However, this does not mean that True Void energy is inherently evil. Additionally, it does not fit into the more common energy alignments of âLightâ or âDarkâ. Rather, it appears to have its own special classification.
Compatible alignments:
Void energy generally tends to attract parasites. From what I have seen, it doesnât seem to have the same negative impact on parasitic entities as it does on other creatures. One explanation for this could be that parasitic entities have evolved and adapted to hide in True Void spaces to protect themselves. Alternatively, it is possible that they still experience negative effects, but are more resilient and able to endure longer exposure to True Void than other species.
Another True-Void âtolerantâ energy alignment would be Death energy. Death workers like reapers and grims tend to be relatively comfortable in the presence of True Void energy.
Nature spirits, fae spirits, light-aligned spirits, and âlivelierâ energy-aligned beings, on the other hand, might find True Void to be repulsive. They might also feel particularly affected by its draining qualities. The nature entities that I have encountered generally tend to show a dislike for True Void energy workers.
Demonic entities (especially hellborn demonic entities) also appear to have a particular distaste for True Void. They might react aggressively or go out of their way to avoid encountering True Void entities. This seems to stem from a historical event that placed hellborn demonic spirits against True Void entities (and/or energy). While I am not privy to the details of this event at the moment, I will continue to update the series as I gain more insight into the situation.
This has been my intro to Void energy! In the future, I hope to discuss more about True Void entities, their culture, and my personal experiences working with them.
I received an ask and the sender wanted to remain anon so Iâll paraphrase: â It's  common for non-void aligned demons to hate/fear void-aligned demons, and it's because a long time ago in hell's history, non-void demons suddenly started dying in droves and it was due to void energy somehow? If you've heard of it, could you make a post about it please?â
Of course. It was actually the other way around. A long time ago it was the original citizens, predominantly void aligned that suddenly began dying . Itâs extremely difficult to completely kill a demon and age doesnât bother them so this was terrifying to them. They were treated like they had the black death. This even reached to the highest levels when the emperor of the time passed. It wasnât something they could hide or run from, it was just their time. Of course this fear has been passed down.
In a way I can see part of their point as the void is the only thing that can truly kill a demon. So seeing anyone void aligned is a little like seeing literal death walking down the street. That said it doesnât excuse the attitude that many give to those born of the void, abandoning them at the first chance, if theyâre lucky.Â
